  1. If he doesn’t need a chrono function, this would be my choice.
  2. IWC. It would be well under budget.
  3. I eventually had enough and decided to go teach my teenage son how to drive in the snow and ice on the mountain roads. It was a surprisingly less painful experience. Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and Blue Bloods on TV also provides me some quiet as he is fully engaged with those.
  4. Biden’s foreign policy in the Middle East was the topic of conversation during the Macy’s parade this morning. Something about the liberals being responsible for the recent robberies in San Francisco. Currently complaining about electric cars and how we can’t cut down trees anymore while watching the Cowboys. FIL has been on a roll today. Can I trade places with anyone of you who has a meth addict visiting? At least that would be entertaining. Just 2 more days.
  5. It looks like the back of the neck is trash. While, I do agree that you will get more guitar for your money used, when I was getting my 1st guitar I had no clue how to spot problem issues with a used guitar. I went new because I felt more comfortable that things would be right or could be addressed under warranty if necessary. If you are not committed to Les Paul, the Strat that Napoleon posted is a great deal on a really good guitar. Spend a few bucks on a setup and you should be good for a long while. Spend your extra funds on a good modeling amp, cable, strap etc. Of the Epiphone's I agree that this one is probably the best bang for the buck that you have listed. If you email Sweetwater, they should be a willing to do a bit better on the price than the website MSRP. This one also comes with a case. As you start dropping down the Epiphone or Fender line, the case disappears and you will end up having to add that in to your purchase as well. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ENL59ADCNH--epiphone-1959-les-paul-standard-outfit-aged-dark-cherry-burst
  6. The guitarists were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of Surlycasters danced in their heads.
  7. Exactly. And yet, here we are.
  8. In-laws are already in town for Thanksgiving. Both have always been fundamental Baptist/Republican types. They have, until recently, had the common courtesy to keep politics out of polite conversation. MIL still follows this approach, but the FIL has now decided its perfectly fine to interject politics into any conversation. My son was discussing his Statistics class with everyone and FIL starts quoting "false" CDC statistics about COVID and how easily you can manipulate stats . These people were hunkered down in their house for well over a year and a half afraid to leave to do anything since the pandemic began. They have only now started to venture out after getting their booster and seeing the numbers of COVID cases drop off. I was perfectly happy that they were being safe and got vaccinated early on, but I was sitting there listening to him with flashes of Kanye and Taylor Swift at the VMA's in my brain. "Dad, I'm gonna let you finish, but......." They are in their 80's and the FIL thankfully survived a pancreatic cancer diagnosis on Christmas eve 2 years ago. We are honestly grateful he is even alive to be with us right now, but damn if my grill didn't have temperature issues last night so I had to stay out there and watch it like a hawk to make sure I didn't burn the food while he discussed errors in statistical data sets.
  9. Any major concerns about staking ETH on Coinbase if I am not planning to sell any time soon?
  10. We have family from the Midwest. Heathens. All of them.
  11. As long as there is no cheddar cheese on top, apple pie will always be welcome in my house.
  12. Orbita is my personal choice. You can score a better price on their closeout page. https://www.orbita.com/tag/winder-closeout/
  13. On lap one? No. Maybe later. If I’m Bottas, my helmet audio may be on the fritz then.
  14. I would imagine that if he is ordered to let Lewis take the lead, Max and Checo may "inadvertently" slip past him as well. Toto has some plan in place to screw Bottas in the pit if necessary.
  15. I agree with Chewbacca. Although, if you are running a smoker in the garage, perhaps you have built up an immunity to contained noxious fumes. Keep this list handy and seek medical care before you get to the last symptom. Signs and symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning may include: Dull headache Weakness Dizziness Nausea or vomiting Shortness of breath Confusion Blurred vision Loss of consciousness
  16. I'll be inside this sound hole like this.
  17. Mono. I think the Les Paul guys say the M80 may have a bit more headstock clearance than the Vertigo. I have a Vertigo sitting around here somewhere if you want to git it a spin and see if it will work. Both support the neck up and away pretty good though.
  18. Deej, that sucks. Consider talking to your doctor about an occupational therapist consult. They can possibly set up a physical therapy plan tailored to help with accessory muscle strength and flexibility to keep those fingers out of the way. Maybe they could design a custom splint or brace that would hold those fingers up and out of the way for you while you play.
  19. Every part about this is awesome! Lego attention to detail is fantastic. https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/lego-ideas-fender-stratocaster-21329?ef_id=CjwKCAjwh5qLBhALEiwAioodszrWF_TnlnItlper1ndK5OMzGunG5uMDSM0T_bLQRzt7C7DqwF8NKRoCvM0QAvD_BwE%3AG%3As&s_kwcid=AL!790!3!529200390672!!!u!381483412454!&cmp=KAC-INI-GOOGUS-GO-US-EN-RE-SP-BUY-CREATE-PLA-SHOP-BP-SP-RN-SMART_SHOPPING
  20. I remain in. PM sent. I will fire up the bedazzler and see if I can get the Nudie suit going......
  21. Can you ship in a box that says “not a guitar”?
  22. Here is a real result satin transparent orange. Warmoth site images are always hit or miss. You would be pretty reliant on hoping for a good grain pattern.
  23. Location is up to you. Every place you are looking is great. I suggest narrowing down to a location or two and keep visiting it during each of the 4 seasons to see if there is enough enjoyment for your family year round. If Durango wasn't full, that would be my choice from your options. We initially dreamed of a remote mountain home, but after looking at in town, remote and stuff in between, we realized that we did not want to deal with maintaining it from 2 states away. Get a good realtor that knows the area and will show you a variety of options. You definitely need to plan on maintaining the property while you are gone. Condos/Townhomes are much easier than a free standing home. HOA will deal with roof/exterior maintenance and snow removal but you do have neighbors. For the most part, it will be lock and leave which is really nice. I like not having to spend my time up there fixing stuff every day instead of enjoying the area. Smart home features can make things easier (cameras, leak detectors, automatic leak water heater shut off, wifi thermostats etc), but nothing replaces having eyes on it with snow, storms, animals etc. Someone above me had a hot water heater leak about two months ago. Thankfully, we caught it early. Get a trustworthy caretaker to come by at least once a month. It saved me from extensive damage. You also need to plan for outside lawn care and snow removal for a free standing home. It can really suck to drive up at night and and see a driveway full of snow. All that being said, if they fit for you, it can be pretty awesome. Just make sure you will use it enough to make the headaches that will pop up worth it. If we weren't planning to eventually move up permanently I don't know that we would have taken the plunge. But so far, no ragrets.
  24. I am a definite yes.
  25. This exists near me and I continue to resist it due to the painted on F hole.
