  1. And an acoustic. Well, and a P-bass. Also, maybe a Gretsch with FilterTrons and a Bigsby.
  2. I have a guy, but like most good ones, he is busy. I passed on the guitar, so no PLEK need after all.
  3. Has anyone had a guitar PLEK’ed? Thoughts on if it was worth the expense?
  4. Westone tried it in the 80’s with a bass guitar.
  5. Already exists. Let us know when you get a shipping number. https://reverb.com/item/28939055-wild-customs-gyrock
  6. Expensive, but the nerd in me is impressed with the design.
  7. Technivorm has an option for a manual drip stop model if you want to avoid having to stir the beans to help with initial coverage. I kinda regret not getting that option so I could let the beans bloom a bit with the initial drip. However, I also know that on more than one occasion, I would probably forget to flip the switch and end up with coffee spilling out the brew basket while I'm distracted making breakfast.
  8. New arrival? I feel green guitars do not get enough love.
  9. Blacklab: "Sorry Prepuce, Ben says it's a POS" PoD: "Damn. Thanks for saving me from buying a money pit. Venmo sent." Blacklab: "Any time man." 2 weeks later - Blacklab: Hey guys....
  10. Bass related, but: https://basscentral.com
  11. You win.
  12. It is easy to tease out income from the data points in the actual application. Married, 2 kids, father-investment banker, mother-pharmacist vs Single mom, 3 kids, mother-housekeeper at Embassy Suites hotel. We didn't fill out FASFA until after the applications were submitted, but I know for a fact that the schools could pinpoint a solid range for our family income/socioeconomic status beforehand. I have no clue how much that truly factored into any acceptance decisions, but it's fine if it did.
  13. We just went through the application process this year. The applications have family marital status, number of siblings, educational level of both parents and if they are currently employed/what is their occupation. Most of the essays have an option to discuss how you dealt with or overcame adversity. There is ample information for schools to take an educated guess about a kids socioeconomic advantages or disadvantages. I am perfectly fine with schools factoring in data like this. The rich kids will do just fine. If they didn't get into UT, I am sure they got accepted to about 5-10 other schools that will provide a quality education that their parents will pay for and they will come out debt free on the other side.
  14. Agree. Just take your dog for a hike. He doesn't need to drop into a double black.
  15. Maybe in "Two Corinthians".
  16. Champagne room. Platinum room. Whatever it takes.
  17. Possibly an unpopular opinion, but I prefer the Red.
  18. To be fair, it is dinner AND tournament.
  19. See what I mean about finding puddles under Triumphs. You just can't escape it.
  20. Follow the instructions on the windshield sticker. Triumphs in theory are great. In real life, you are almost always chasing a leak or an electrical problem. Even in a well sorted out car. Father/Son restorations are great, but pick a better starting point. It will be more fun to actually get to drive something rather than going into the garage and smelling gas, seeing a puddle under the car or turning the key and hearing click click click. There is a reason that car got parked when it did.
  21. Former Gamblers HC became the HC for the University of Houston. Former UH HC is now the HC of the Gamblers.
  22. Most of those scuffs are probably not noticeable on the wrist. The close up photos can make them look way worse than in person.
  23. Not sure about sound improving with age, but why not make guitar playing more comfortable starting out? If it keeps her coming back to play, it is worth a string change I think.
  24. They have 6 deposits now right?
