  1. Huh? I know it's Satya and all that but Cameron Smith and John Houston JR was a very good LB duo in '18. Cameron Smith was a 3-time All Pac 12 selection.
  2. Swaim might be the biggest idiot on twitter. You shouldn't take anything he tweets seriously. 100% fiction.
  3. Watts didn't miss any games last year but he was constantly banged up in games where he would have to come out for series.
  4. Yeah, but I think that's partly why he was always banged up. Dude is made of glass. Which is why he likely just wants to be a cover corner and avoid contact.
  5. I remember Tech fans calling for immediate action on Beard when he was at Texas. I'm sure they will hold Isaacs to the same standard being they care so much about women.
  6. The big thing with Watts is he was injured against most of the good passing offenses this year. Didn't play vs OU (#6 passing offense), didn't play vs Oklahoma State (#25 passing offense), and didn't play vs Kansas (#54 passing offense). Beyond availability, the reason he looked good for the most part is because he was never available against the good teams.
  7. Yeah, I need to see the final PFF grades but I think Caldwell is definitely in a higher tier than Trill.
  8. Carter and Broughton are almost identical based on the PFF grades and Broughton played more snaps. I'm pretty sure that Caldwell is also in the tier above Carter and Broughton (need confirmation from @Hiphopopotamos). Assuming we land Caldwell, I don't think resource wise it made much sense to retain Carter. Starters: Collins and Caldwell. Then back ups will be Broughton, Mitchell, and some other young guys. That's 3 really experienced guys getting most of the reps.
  9. What was Caldwell's PFF grade? This makes sense if we land Caldwell and keep Broughton. Broughton and Carter seem like similar players. Don't think we need to allocate resources to keep both those guys assuming we also land Caldwell.
  10. I was wondering what would happen with Trill Carter with the Collins news and with Texas apparently trending for Caldwell. He likely wants to start somewhere.
  11. Raymond was still a recruiting witch at Florida. Development was questionable though. Getting players like Filsaime and Mack to commit to that sorry as defense and for a coach that will be fired in a few months is all you need to know.
  12. Based on CTJ's comments, Nahlin, and a couple other 9.95ers it seems pretty obvious something is going to happen at WR that we aren't expecting.
  13. Arnold hasn't shown anything yet but neither has Weigman. Weigman's entire career so far is stacking up numbers against terrible teams and looking mediocre to bad against good teams. I think the only game you could say Weigman looked good against a plus defense was LSU 2 years ago and he didn't throw the ball much at all. They just gave the ball to Achane. IMO Weigman is one of the most overhyped players in college football when you look at what he's done against good defenses. I'm thrilled aggy didn't go after a portal QB.
  14. AD returning seems unlikely but I think it puts us right back in the national title mix if he does. Ewers, almost the entire OL returning, Blue and Baxter at RB, AD + Golden and Cook would give us a top 5ish offense.
  15. The worst possible result for us would have been JB returning only for half or 1/4 the season and scaring off one of Blue or Baxter. That would have put us in a tight spot.
  16. I think it proves Riley missed on that particular evaluation but his body of work suggests otherwise. Murphy looks pretty meh to me but I still trust Sark as one of the best evaluators/developers at that position. Misses happen.
  17. If we do lose Terry my dream scenario is Steven Clinkscale from Michigan. Maybe if Harbaugh bolts for the NFL he becomes poachable. His DBs have been good everywhere he's been (Michigan, Kentucky, and Cincinnati).
  18. Elliott was the best recruiter in the country without national titles. Everyone is even in more trouble now with actual results.
  19. The three most questionable hires on the original staff were Coleman, Terry, and Gideon. Coleman was fired and the secondary is the biggest weakness on the team. Amazing how that works.
  20. Terry is a good recruiter but he's not some recruiting witch. DB development has been below average. I have a pretty strong opinion on it. Texas would likely upgrade if LSU took Terry.
  21. I don't think any Texas fan would care if LSU took Terry Joseph.
  22. No doubt but probably not to start the season based on his injury.
