  1. I laughed but so far that's the mold that Texas has had success with under Sark. Flood, Banks, Davis, Choate, etc had vast experience prior to Texas. Legit skins on the wall prior to Texas. The only top-tier assistant that might not fit that mold is Choice. So yeah, give me the guy that's proven himself over the guys you hope will produce results with more experience.
  2. Well, I personally think Orgeron would be a home run hire. IMO he's a much better recruiter than Davis. Probably not a better developer but he produced very good DL at some major programs.
  3. Maybe he's too old....I dunno but Orgeron has 20X as many recruiting and development skins as either Okam or Wright.
  4. In all seriousness, would there be any reason to dislike Orgeron? He's a legit recruiter, produced good DL at USC and LSU, and probably gets us even more into Louisiana. Outside of maybe Roach he looks like the best option.
  5. I mean is Sexton even busting anyone's balls? Football scoop is the most reliable coaching source and it doesn't even sound like Sark is in the mix. He's either already told them no or Bama knew that wasn't happening. Outside of online rumor stuff, there's been nothing reliable about Sark having any interest in Alabama.
  6. Or nobody wants to follow Saban. If Sark and Kiffin said no after Lanning there are only a couple more good options. DeBoer and Norvell are two good options. After that, you're probably reaching for somebody.
  7. Football Scoop says the candidates getting interviews are DeBoer, Norvell, and Rees. The other two names with traction are Drinkwitz and Locksley. https://footballscoop.com/news/update-at-alabama-kalen-deboer-mike-norvell-tommy-rees-nick-saban
  8. WV sucks but knowing our luck Jesse Edwards will return for our game.
  9. I would be shocked if Bama doesn't lose one of those interior DL out of Oatis, Keenan, Payne, and Smith. All those guys can probably start anywhere and they only have two starting spots.
  10. A&M is always way too high in these "top job" discussions. The only viable argument is they overpay for coaches and give coaches extensions for mediocre results. If it's all about the money, maybe A&M is near the top. The issue is that all the arguments center around facilities, recruiting in Texas, budget for assistants, resources, etc. Those are all arguments based on helping a coach win. We have 85 years of proof that all those advantages don't help A&M win. And it's not just in football. All the 3 major sports have sucked for 85 years. It's a cultural problem.
  11. Jaylon Tyson has turned into a legit stud. Looks like a NBA player. Weird career path going from Texas, to Tech, and now Cal. It also shows you that development takes time for certain players. Just weird he's at a school like Cal. Dude would make Texas or Tech really good if he was still there.
  12. Going to be interesting. It sounds like Bama already has a hire. My bet is it's still Lanning.
  13. Alabama rivals site. Sounds like this is going to be Lanning.
  14. OU is another team that's over-ranked/fraudulent. They're 1-2 against Kenpom top 40 teams and they were worked by UNC and TCU.
  15. Arkansas is bad. I'm not even sure that's much of an upset this year.
  16. After tonight, Marquette will likely be outside the top 200 in 3P% according to T-Rank. They're probably a lock to make the 2nd weekend if they just cut down the 3 point attempts by about 30% but that seems unlikely with Shaka. It's kind of incredible.
  17. Tennessee lost to unranked Mississippi State but that Mississippi State team can make a run in the tournament. They've been playing most the year without Tolu Smith who might be the best player in the SEC.
  18. Marquette is 3/25 from 3. This is such a Shaka team.
  19. In 4 days, UCF lost by 25 to K-State and beat Kansas. Let's get weird.
  20. Kansas lucky to not be 0-2 if not for their bullshit calls at the Phog.
  21. Vic is such a great coach. He knew TCU didn't have the size inside. Just bullied them inside all night and probably should have won by 15+ if our bigs didn't miss so many bunnies.
  22. I think without Harmon we may try to play like this a lot. Just bully ball inside. We've missed a lot of bunnies tonight that we normally make (especially Jones).
  23. Vic has the right idea in this game with no Sedona Prince. He's going big and we have TCU in foul trouble. Also, getting great looks inside. Just need Jones to start finishing now.
