Football Scoop reported Beck already had another job lined up for after the bowl game.  Maybe he’s taking off early now that his replacement has leaked?

He was on the road recruiting right?  Or maybe recruiting as in “hey I’m leaving but you’re in good hands”

Ok. Guess we can hire Charlie Strong back instead. He’s great at creating offensive success.

For our opponents.  We need someone to do it for us.  I’m getting old

Just going to throw this name out there - Mark Helfrich.

If Herman is looking at someone in the NFL, but with college experience, Helfrich is out there and likely available.

    I’m down

Let me turn that back around on you. Do you not think Notre Dame is pretty unique as a I-A program?

Who make a good comparison for a gigantic state school / traditional football powerhouse, in terms of its optimal conference alignment? The problem answering that is that I don't think anyone has an optimal conference alignment. My point remains: geography/proximity makes the non-essential regular season games meaningful. That makes Texas-Baylor a different animal than Texas-Kansas State and while UT fans might like to joke about Prestige Worldwide and not needing to play the smaller, weaker, rapier Texas schools, games against those schools (even, gasp, the University of Houston) are more meaningful than a handful of games against modestly strong programs with whom we have nothing in common.

I want to be clear that my argument is that we as fans would enjoy the impact logical geographic alignment would have on our regular season schedules (and, as a side argument, that this makes organizing the post-season easier). I am not arguing athletic directors/departments or television execs would or should like the approach. This whole sport started over bragging rights, and you were out to get bragging rights over the other schools in your area. You want to know why college football was such a do-or-die emotional attachment from the earliest days, there you go.

And that's why I say Notre Dame doesn't make a lot of sense as a comparison for the University of Texas-- the barnstorming tradition. Notre Dame resigned itself long ago to having to find its rivals where it could. Thus 90 years later, Southern Cal and Navy are still two of your big games, and you still treat rivalries as malleable (the Stanford/MSU example). I personally think that malleability has its limits. Thirty years of not playing Arkansas has made them an afterthought where they were once a hated rival. I don't really see a yearly game with Oklahoma State as an improvement on that rivalry, nor do I think playing West Virginia feels like as much is at stake as when we play Fucking Baylor.

I don’t know. I’d rather play a line up of bama, Auburn, LSU, Florida, Tennessee vs tcu, Baylor and cigar high

The Cal game that ended at 1:30 am for me

I think we started off fast that game and had beaten ND.  I really thought we were back.  Wasn't a Charlie guy, but thought "hey, I guess I was wrong."  Then we lost

lmao, just stop.....Johnson put out a product worse than the prequels .  What forward thinking was there?  I don't think he was trying to piss off the franchises fans on purpose, but yeah, he did it on purpose and then bragged about it

+1. TLJ made me want to skip this one.  Glad I didn’t.

I know this point been beaten to death on here but it's still impressive how much of a dipshit Ketch can be. I tried listening to him talk about the average star rating between classes and he doesn't seem to understand how numbers work.

Absolute dipshit.  But filthy rich because all the other dips hits give him 9.95 per month

AND win National Championships.  We should go into every season with a team expected to compete for a NC.  Anything less is bullshit and not acceptable.

    Yea I’m talking bare minimum

I have no doubt that Tom has a very high IQ and is a capable football coach when it comes to X’s And O’s.

But.... he reminds me of the killer, rain-maker sales guy that is arrogant, eccentric and a loose cannon.  He does what he does very well but outside of that small box he’s difficult to be around and alienates a lot of people who work with him.

You can’t always take the top sales guy and make him the Sales Manager and I think that’s what’s been done here.

I’m in sales.  Yea.   Pretty much
