I think I lean tannehill but redneck is right. Winston was just fine after he left temporarily with the thumb injury. Winston is matchup proof if he plays. If he plays, he can blow up against literally anyone, and he can bust against literally anyone. He’s the most fascinating fantasy player in my lifetime of playing fantasy football. I’m rolling with him this week and I don’t feel good about it when I watch him. But I have to. The end result usually gives you a top 7 qb

Tannehill is steadier for sure but I’m waiting for him to crash at some point.  Jameis has had some ugly games. I picked both up on waivers in back to back weeks.

honestly picked jameis up to keep him away from my opponent.

My team is the 6seed and I play the 1seed, fresh off his little bye...

I am favored by 10 LOL.

and it’s hard to imagine how Tannehill would still be available on waivers in any league this week. Dude has been crushing it...and  contenders should be looking to improve their rosters...always.

Insane that I wa able to pick him up.  But I think everyone just glosses over his name like you would jameis Stafford or rivers.

You have got to stop with this bullshit about Anwar being a mouthpiece. He's a completely unconnected imbecile getting paid by another one.

There will be flips if coordinators aren't named by NSD1. You're either being purposefully obtuse or willfully naive.

None of this shit matters. New coordinators will be named within the next few days, at the latest.

Anwar hasn’t been connected since Charlie left.

and you seem pretty confident in your last statement

Texas football coach Tom Herman continues to move at his own pace during a methodical search to find a new offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator.

It has been 10 days since Herman officially removed Tim Beck and Todd Orlando from their respective coordinator positions, and it does not appear the coach is in a rush to find replacements. The candidates who have been discussed are LSU’s Joe Brady, USC’s Graham Harrell, and former Rutgers coach Chris Ash. Ash was interviewed in Austin on Thursday, while Herman spoke to Harrell this past week. Neither has received an official contract offer. However, we know they are on Herman’s short list.

Meanwhile, FootballScoop.com reported Beck is a coaching candidate at Lamar.

Herman has been moving in silence. There are at least four offensive coordinators and defensive coordinators, respectively, Herman is interested in, but those names have been hard to come by. There has been a lot of speculation about Herman’s next moves, but the coach has been keeping a lot of people guessing.

    That is by design.

Herman is so determined to keep information about his coaching searching under wraps, he recently tightened his inner circle. He is doing everything within his power to avoid the leaking of information because Herman believes that is the best method to interview and hire candidates to improve the football program, according to my sources.

Here is what I was learned this week.

One of the reasons Herman is fighting to make sure his candidate list is not leaked to the media is because he does not want to give opposing schools an opportunity to retain their current coaches.

For instance, after Herman’s interest in Brady became public, LSU coach Ed Oregon immediately declared there was a plan in place to keep his passing game coordinator. Meanwhile, Harrell was reportedly offered a new contract after Herman’s interest in the offensive coordinator became public. Needless to say, those are a few reasons why there has not been a lot of information out of Moncrief recently.

In addition, if information is leaked out, assistant coaches often feel outside pressure to remain with the team. When coaches do not want an assistant to leave, they will use a variety of tactics to get them to stay, especially for a lateral position and responsibility. From what I can tell, Herman is trying to avoid that scenario.

Meanwhile, my sources indicated Herman does not want opposing schools to use a candidate list against Texas in recruiting. Herman has tightened the screws because once a name becomes public, the concern withing the building is opposing schools can use misinformation about a candidate to negatively recruit against Texas.

My sources inside the building said Herman has been forced to address misinformation about his coaching search multiple times since making changes to his coaching staff. Nevertheless, I was told after Herman discredits those false reports, he and the staff are selling players on the opportunity to play for Texas.

In addition, Herman is attempting to build relationships with candidates before making a final decision. From what I have been able to gather, it is important to Herman for him to have chemistry with his future coordinators. Herman is not going to pull the trigger on a new hire until the chemistry is apparent, which ranges between coaching philosophies and simple day-to-day communication.

That is why there is no timetable on Herman’s decision.

I was told Herman’s is content to wait until after signing day to begin hiring coordinators. In my opinion, Herman could easily offer contracts to the coaches he has identified as top candidates at any moment. However, there is a chance Herman will wait another week to secure this year’s class before making his hires.

Typically, we hear about the top candidates, the backup plans, and know when every interview is taking place. It appears Herman prefers for everything to happen behind closed doors. Herman’s interview process does not result in sexy headlines, but his rationale makes sense.

Basically, every Longhorn observer is being forced to exercise patience.

Of course, that is easier said than done.

    I will keep you posted.

I haven't seen anything saying that he is, but if he happens to be on the radar for FAU or Memphis he'll hold out for those.  Or if he thinks a coach that will take those jobs will create an opening he'll wait.   Waiting out HC jobs before declaring one way or the other is really the only thing that makes any sense.

I doubt he’s established enough to land one of those

Now that would be interesting. Odom and Ash as CoDC's like Ash did it at OSU with Fickell, and Walters is the other DB coach. Then you would look to bring in another DL coach with Giles.

Odom, Ash, Giles, Okam/Haley, Walters would be a salty defensive staff.

You got one dl coach per lineman

I think it's more "lost a coordinator hire to another school for the same job," which is way different than losing a coordinator to another school for a HC job.

I don't remember the last time anyone made a lateral move like that.

Rumor du jour is that Ryan Walters (current DC at Missouri) would come as DB coach.  Also the possibility of bring Brick Haley back as a coach.

Been reading that brick can’t come back?   Something has changed?

So how does a HCIW offer go down when the current head coach has no job security and is hated by the fanbase?

“Hey don’t tell Clay we told you this, but he’s a dead man walking and you’re on deck baby!”

Your best bet is to score a bunch of points and hope your defense allows more

I'm getting the feeling we're going to be very underwhelmed by the hires

Again for 70% of this crowd, any hire will be the wrong hire.   The only thing that will work is canning Herman.  We’re at that point.

Every case will have a non-football reason albeit a less extreme one.  The Scalley dude said no thanks because he believes in magic underwear or whatever and likes Utah.  Utah is clearly not a better job than Texas.  Jim Mora told Steve Patterson to fuck off while at UCLA. His family couldn’t do hot.

Scalley is the hciw, played at Utah and is a devout Mormon.

mora, like any other non minority candidate, was fodder.   Never seriously considered

I’m not familiar enough with Arkansas and Odom for me to judge but as big a shit show as we are, it’s a top five job at all levels.

the job people take is not always the “best” one offered.  Is that hard to understand?  Chris Peterson could have had any opening in college football including Texas over a period of about 7 years. But he chose....Washington.

He has a special needs child.   Another example?

It’s gonna be Lashlee and Ash. We’re gonna look better for the simple fact that Lashlee can call an offense with some fluidity and Ash will run a 4 down and teach fundamentals.  We’ll win 9-10 games with a CCG appearance and it’ll be Hermy another year.  Then we’ll do this all over in 21 and Herm will be gone.

If we win ten, why would herm be gone?

Does Lashlee get those results without SB?  Herrall was dealt a hand of crap and turned it into prime rib.  I prefer Herrall with Greg Lewis as WR coach.

And yet SB was pretty unremarkable under beck?
