I don't know enough about colonialism specifically (or history generally, to be honest) but I have long wondered whether and how any cultural history of colonization by Spain seems to play into this type of flawed (from my perspective, at least) thinking, reasoning, motivation, internal-justification-of-hypocrisy, pleasing of the master and hierarchical subjugation of perceived inferiors, etc.

Spanish colonization did lead to the fragmentation of Latin America (see @Pancho's post above about Mexicans talking shit about Hondurans). Simon Bolivar tried to bring all those groups together during the independence movements of the 1800s, but it didn't work.

The closest I’ve been to a fistfight in court was between my two clients. The husband was legit injured, and his wife had a consortium claim as well. They were both avid bowlers involved in leagues together and that was a big part of their lives.

We wondered why the Ds would not settle as we went to trial.   The wife was crossed and said she gave up interest in bowling once her husband could not participate. Then we all had to sit back and make popcorn and watch Defendant’s surveillance videos (made from behind the pins in the lane), showing the wife using an alias and bowling with another man.  She was banging him too, but I think the bowling part was the breach of trust.

What’s the video ended he stood up to go at her, and I had to restrain him.

Narrator: this was not a plaintiff payday

The rule of this site is that you must post pictures of any woman in a story. I wish there was some sort of funny movie quote that I could use to illustrate this point. If said quote fit the theme of bowling, that would be even better. But, alas, I cannot think of one.

BNB is great but it's not even the best 70's sports movie. That honor goes to Slap Shot, which might be the best sports movie of all time.

Sure, if we're talking about a universe where Rocky does not exist.

Loved the first two episodes. My wife doesn’t generally like shows with lots of sex and nudity so trying to gauge if this is something she would enjoy or not. GOT definitely not.

As far as I remember, there's only been one sex scene so far and it was pretty tame and quick (so basically like my sex life). You could always cover her eyes during the bad parts.

  6. I'm completely lost with who is who, but I'm enjoying the ride.

Also, I would like to make like the rain and clouds with Toda.

I think Clark is a badass and congrats to her on the all time scoring record for women. I think advertising that she took the men's record from Pistol Pete, like that has any relevance to women's college basketball, is dumb. They arent even the same sport (different balls, rules, and levels of competition) and it is just attention whoring from the media.

But she might end up being the best female basketball player ever before it is all said and done.

This. But also throw in that Pistol Pete did it without a three-point line and in only three years since back in the day the NCAA forced all freshman to play JV basketball.

Why do you do this to yourself? Cam needed a prayer kickoff return to beat Bama, and he beat Oregon by 2 TD's. Whoop tee doo

Vince, OTOH, beat many consider the greatest team of all time with 2 Heisman winners on their home field.

I'm not going to defend Cam being better than VY, because that's ridiculous. But saying Cam needed luck to get those wins is also ridiculous. You could make the same argument that VY needed the defense to stop USC on 4th and 2. Players don't win championships, teams do. And every championship team has needed some kind of "luck".

  9. If this is true, it has to be one of the lamest political scandals of all time. Trying to help Panera Bread?!? If you're going to get caught in a corruption scandal, at least make sure it involves high-end hookers on a private beach or something like that. Not over-priced, bland salads in suburban strip mall hells.

I don't know why I started this, because I hate that fucking band, almost as much as I hate Greg Abbott.

Abbott is not what a princess lover ought to be.

Zone of Interest was the most disappointing thing I have ever seen in my entire life. It was literally “guy that works at Auschwitz lives next to it with his family”. That’s the entire fucking movie. 105 minutes of watching grass grow would’ve been less boring.

Looks like Zone of Interest will be winning Best Picture.

Already on their plate is the cumbersome unwinding of Medicaid coverage. Since last April, the agency has removed more than 2 million Texans from the program since the federal government lifted continuous coverage rules during the pandemic, forcing those who still qualify for coverage to reapply.

Sorry we can't provide food for kids during the summer, because we're too busy making sure they don't have access to affordable health insurance. Fuck fuck fuck.
