  1. Kade Phillips to Texas! https://247sports.com/player/kade-phillips-46131783/
  2. Good news, people!! It's NOT Oklahoma (or A&M) ... and therefore -
  3. Texas Recruiting Notes 2025: Incompetence and bizarre shit coming from Belmont
  4. What are the chances for Texas football and its other 5-star WR targets after Dakorien Moore to Oregon Hank South (Horns 247) (Spoilers - Ffrench will announce a decision on Aug. 30 between Texas, LSU, Miami, Ohio State, and Tennessee. My Crystal Ball prediction is in on the Longhorns. Percentage chances Ffrench ends up at Texas: 60 percent Percentage chances Lockett ends up at Texas: 70 percent)
  5. In this little saga, let’s not forget Nahlin’s shining moment yesterday … lulz.
  6. If we did offer more, and he still chose Oregon, yeah, there’s aspects of that that would make me feel better. - I remember reading (may have been quotes from Moore) that no staff did a better job than Oregon’s. It happens, as long as it doesn’t happen too often. (I don’t think that was the case with the other recruitments we lost to them.) And there may be things Sark learns from the experience. - Or, more likely - given all of strengths we bring to bear in a recruitment of a receiver (Sark/offense/Arch/NIL, etc.), this guy may simply have wanted to go far away and do his own thing. Either way, get Ff and Lockett, and we’ll have a pretty insane WR position group.
  7. Given the deletion of the Thamel tweet, I bet this guy was involved.
  8. Look at the … Hank South (Horns 247) Sonny Shipp (LSU 247)
  9. Lulz … Tom Loy (247), Oregon 247, few minutes ago “Just talked to someone that expressed that Texas is CHARGING right now. They are making this really difficult on Moore. He’s got a lot of love for the Longhorns and Ducks, so this has been a battle. Oregon felt great last night. They are more nervous than excited right now. This one is getting very interesting.” SHORTLY AFTER THAT “All I’m going to say, if it’s not Oregon, something changed drastically since last night.”
  10. Ha ha ha … this guy. Seriously. Hank South (Horns 247) “With that, I'm changing my Crystal Ball prediction to from confidence level 6 to confidence level 1, keeping it on Texas. I've debated switching it to Oregon all together, but I'm giving Texas some benefit of the doubt to try change the momentum ahead of 8 p.m. CT. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but want to prepare you for this, and I'm getting very little optimism on the Texas side when speaking with sources, which is a major sea change. Oregon meanwhile feels confident, per sources.”
  11. Is the family bbq he is announcing at, in Austin? So … many from this group, decked out in green and puke, and quacking like ducks? That would be pretty diabolical.
  12. JORDAN SCRUGGS (HORNS 247) Re: Michael Terry - Know y'all are worried about Oregon but I really like my crystal ball in favor of Texas to land Terry. - Not in the bag yet but Texas has their bases covered well in this one. Also they've just done a great job top to bottom in making MT3 feel like a priority. 6 staffers from Texas reached out to Terry yesterday via seperate phone calls: Sark, Choice, Milwee, Chris Gilbert, Brandon Harris, and an analyst who's name I'm blanking on. I view Dakorien Moore as the No. 1 target across the board, but Terry is receiving prioritization that feels similar to the Colin Simmons recruitment last summer. Not sure if he's viewed as high in Texas' eyes as Simmons was, but the staff has been making it very clear how bad they want him since the start of the summer and it's been a group effort as well. When Texas puts this much effort and work into recruitments they tend to win the large majority of them so that paired with other factors of the recruitment that help Texas' chances has me feeling pretty good about the Longhorns winning come decision time in August. Re: Lamont Rogers - Just spoke with the same source again who still thinks Rogers' announcement on Saturday won't be for Texas, however, a flip in the months leading up to early signing day seems more likely than I had previously thought. Still going to be tracking this throughout the next few days but most folks I've talked to in the past day or two don't see Texas as the hat being selected on Saturday.
  13. Lulz ... they should call it Hall of 1-time CWS Finalist ...
  14. Peep that On3 ranking ... #26. overall, #3 position
  15. To Texas!! https://247sports.com/Player/smith-orogbo-46141872/
  16. Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247) just put in Texas CB picks for - - Smith Orogbo - DJ Sanders - Kade Phillips - Kaydon Finley (‘26 WR) - Michael Terry - Nick Townsend
  17. ON SMITH-OROGBO - Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247) leans Texas as of this morning; not a ton of confidence, but may change CB to Texas prior to announcement - Collin Kennedy (OU 247) reiterated this morning that he leans towards Texas in this recruitment - Both feel it’s a TX/OU battle
  18. ON SMITH-OROGBO, FROM OU 247 AND HORNS 247 THE GIST Sooner 247 “Could I see a world where Oklahoma is the choice? Sure. But right now I'd be slightly leaning towards Texas.” “The latest intel I've been able to gather, while certainly indicating Oklahoma remains towards the top, would have me at least thinking that Texas could be the pick.” Horns 247 “Texas as definitely kept it interesting and rebounded from the early month momentum Tech had. Jordan is going to cover it in-depth in The Stampede. We feel it's Texas vs. OU.” FULL OU 247 ARTICLE Collin's Corner: Where I'm at on Smith Orogbo (6/30) Collin Kennedy (OU 247)
  19. Hank South (Horns 247) (After the Brew-haha.) **************************************** Just need to take a breath. There are no locks in recruiting. I will say we still feel good about Townsend and Dakorien Moore. And if the last 48 hours are of any indication you can bet Texas is circling back on it's other top guys to close. Pettijohn would be a miss. If you can get Madden Faraimo, then I'm not sure you're hurting there at all. Plus Jon Cunningham. I'm not trying to make excuses. But I've seen this so many times in almost a decade of recruiting reporting to believe that Texas is going to be just fine. **********************************
