  1. On Zaden Krempin, from Horns 247 (Hank South) Texas offensive coordinator and OL coach Kyle Flood made two stops on Wednesday night -- one to see four-star offensive tackle John Turntine III and another to visit four-star offensive tackle Zaden Krempin. Horns247 has long projected the former in UT's 2026 class. That remains unchanged. But for Krempin, Horns247 is starting to hear more Texas chatter speaking with sources about the Prosper product. It's not a huge shock considering Krempin has been a regular on the Forty Acres, and has an official visit set to Austin for June 13-15, but we have yet to dive in on projecting him in the class. I feel better about the prospects of that happening now more than I have so far in this recruitment. We'll continue to see how things play out going into OV season. Krempin has visits set to LSU, Texas A&M, SMU, Texas, and Michigan. (HANK SOUTH)
  2. Lulz. At the Brazos Valley A&M Club. The libations must have been strong. And copious. And imbibed sans inhibition. (The last time they had 10 players selected? 1976 ... when they apparently had at least 14 rounds in the draft.) Lulz. "Retained the coaching staff." Ha ha ha ha ... had to fight the poachers off with baguettes and breadsticks!
  3. (From the thread following the post above, on Lott.) Some really good info from Scruggs, comparing Lott and Bishop. And below, a couple of clips of Lott. Man, I want both of these guys on the roster.
  4. (Top-50 national recruit, two-way player, two-way Texas legacy, in-state recruit ... Lott riding on this recruitment.) Chris Jackson is turning up the heat on Texas' pursuit of Top247 ATH and Longhorn legacy Jalen Lott Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247)
  5. Aledo Top247 WR Kaydon Finley details his recruitment as it heads down the home stretch Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247) After the article, he added this 🙂 ...
  6. 1) Najee Harris had 43 catches at Bama; not far behind Metchie, w/ 55. (Smith had 117 - lulz - and Waddle was hurt, but still, 43 is a good number.) 2) I think Sark/Arch will do what is best for the offense, and if Edwards has the ability, they will find a way to use it. And catch totals under the mid 40s could still be material for a back. 3) Edwards and Arch will overlap for 1 year, max. 4) I believe the bigger point is Sark has proven that he can use backs as pass catchers, and do so very well, when the circumstances and opportunities are right. And that's got to be a positive, particularly for Edwards. Here are a couple of excerpts from his scouting report: "Progressively getting more targets in the passing game, including 30 catches as a junior. Displays impressive ball skills and body control as a pass catcher." "Experience in myriad formations and personnel scenarios for a perennial Texas 4A contender."
  7. Dates/quotes from KJ Edwards. "The third week of June is when Texas is having all their big visitors and commits, and coach Sark told me that would be a good time to come and be around all of those guys, so I think we are going to move that visit back to the third week of June. We are still deciding on which date for the LSU and Alabama visit, and I'll be at Texas A&M on June 13." "I don't think there's another that uses their backs in the passing game like Texas. Nobody uses their backs better than them in that way." (Good point, and the statement suggests the staff is emphasizing this. Wisner and Blue caught 44 and 42 passes respectively. (FYI, those numbers were more than those of Wingo/Moore - not suggesting the staff would call this aspect out 🙂 - just putting it in context).) 8. Good note from Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247). Just some football thoughts about a handful of prospects, and on recruiting. Without the usual clichés and bullshit. Excerpts/key points (complete article spoilered at the end) - Jalen Lott is the safest bet in the entire state of Texas (NFL potential on both sides of the ball, and very high floor) - Keith Dotie is going to be a harder flip than previously expected (SMU commit, 3-star DL from Mesquite Poteet) - Chris Stewart will sign with Texas - There’s a sleeping giant in south Houston Fort Bend Crawford 2027 Top247 wide receiver Alvin Mosley - Jermaine Bishop committing to Texas caught other schools completely off guard - This will be Texas’ best offensive line haul since 2022 - Few programs have done a better job with true athlete types than the Longhorns, and they’ll continue to reap the rewards from it going forward (Jelani McDonald, Wardell Mack, Aaron Butler, Jonah Williams, Michael Terry III, Nick Townsend, Lance Jackson, and Jermaine Bishop) - The 2027 in-state class is a better class top to bottom than the 2026 in-state class, and there’s more depth as well - I like my crystal ball for Kaydon Finley Finley makes his decision on his fourth of July commitment date. 9. This made me guffaw. (Emiley Kennedy is one of their star pitchers - got hit tonight. And I think LaViolette went 0-10 in the Georgia series.)
  10. Holy smokes! Aggy baseball - falls from preseason #1 to unranked, faster than any other team in history. And tonight, Aggy softball becomes the first #1 seed ever, to lose in a regional. To Liberty.
  11. Lulz. Another gem from Tarp, on Niblack. Oh, sure, he threw in a couple of positives (full note in the spoilered section), but here are a few excerpts. (They're exact quotes, other than a few instances of bolding/italicizing.) - "Niblack is not explosive off of the line of scrimmage" - "or necessarily that elusive" - "We didn't hear or see much from Niblack in the spring" - "as he was overshadowed by the other players at position for various reasons." (Lulz) - "He has been limited in terms of the number of snaps" - "and also the way he has been used since he hasn't been much of a run blocker" - "(either in quantity or quality)" - "or played much on special teams." - "Niblack could serve as an upgrade in that regard as an intermediate receiver" - "who can perhaps turn medium sized gains into big ones" - "and perhaps even be a weapon in the red zone," - "and is better able to use him in a way that is more akin to the skills he possesses." 2025 Texas A&M football roster profile...TE Amari Niblack could help the Aggies' downfield passing game Tarp (Aggie 247)
  12. Xavier Griffin on his four OV teams (including Texas); this is from Bama 247. Full article spoilered. 'Consistent': No. 1 linebacker Xavier Griffin locks in Alabama official visit fresh off USC decommitment Brett Greenberg (Bama 247)
  13. :-)) (Edit - adding article from Scruggs. Hey Brauny - no need to bother your "sources"; just read this ... lulz.) No. 1 ATH Jermaine Bishop goes in-depth on commitment to Texas Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247)
  14. 🙂 NOTE - - we're likely his last official (June 20th) - his bro moved from Penn State to Michigan ... not expected to be a major factor in his recruitment Top247 EDGE Luke Wafle includes Texas in cut to four schools Will Turboff (Horns 247)
  15. Some very, very positive notes on Bishop. Quite a combo of ability/potential/proven production in school Gabe Brooks just posted an article; some fun excerpts below, followed by the full note. I'm thrilled. EXCERPTS "Seismic addition for Texas." "If you're looking for an impact level on a 1-10 scale, Bishop's commitment would be a 10, in our opinion. For programs competing on a national level, he represents a class-leading receiver or class-leading defensive back in our eyes." " ... he was DJ Lagway's top target in Fall 2023, and his receiving statistics (receptions, yards, TDs) slightly increased in Fall 2024. Pretty impressive considering the change of QB." "One of the best pure football players in the country, reflected by absurd production on both sides of the ball across multiple Texas 6A varsity seasons." Reminds us of these players in recent years: Jordan Addison (WR, Vikings), Mekhi Blackmon (CB, Vikings), Travis Hunter (ATH, Jaguars), Kamari Lassiter (CB, Texans), Ladd McConkey (WR, Chargers).
