I’m not totally sure why this was in doubt for a select few here. They are allergic to winning. It’s astonishing. Even with the game 1 win it was still “ok, how’re they gonna fuck this up?” And they fucked it up perfectly. Cause they are a group of fuck up losers.
And just to pour a tad bit more gasoline on the fire
We’ll see you mother fucking cocksuckers in November, unfortunately.

Wait, we’re talking about nuking The Disch? Are y’all fucking crazy?! Toss some real grass and dirt on there, move the walls back to where they belong and pass out free blow to students. There. Fixed.

Why would you want a coach who can't even win one game when it really counts?
Cause he’s going to sabotage the games. Grand sip conspiracy, obviously.

I know, I know... fuck me - but let me 'splain.
It's partly Native Texan >>> Little bro hatred... and, Davy Crockett or no, as much as our little bro is a mouth-breathing livestock-fucking dipshit, and as much as he pains me to admit it... it's family.
But mainly just imagining the diabeetus-inducing sweetness of the aggy tears as the guy who brung 'em to this dance goes home with tea-sippers, as the world's highest roller coaster plunges into the darkness.
Fuck that shit. I want them to go 0-2 with both games decided by the 2nd inning then Monday CDC and Schloss announce he’s our new coach. Those cocksuckers don’t deserve a national championship or any success in anything. Fuck em

you need to be quite and retract, of course we are looking at Kentucky's coach, right Helobious? it's Vit that we have not shot at, right? RIGHT?
Yeah, Vitello would be a terrible hire and schloss would never leave aggy, right @Helobious?

I don’t see how that makes sense.
Yeah if we’re hiring a coach who isn’t in the CWS we would’ve announced it already. I’d assume

We should offer Schloss the exact terms of Jimbo's contract extension and watch them shit their pants.
I’d also be more than fine with stealing Schloss from aggy, him bringing that pitching coach and keeping Tulo around.
I’ve said it before but dream scenario. Vitello to us. Schloss to Tennessee. Pierce to Rice. Steve Rodriguez to aggy.

Happily? I’d make sure each of you gave up at least one nut in your nutsack for those three on our staff. Holy shit balls that would be fantastic.
If this happens, I’ll go ahead and stay away from you at the next surly happy hour/tailgate/watch party.

What was with aggys stupid fucking uniforms last night? Why not just use your regular ones considering it’s the opening round of the CWS? I’ll never understand those fucking people.

So Vitello and CDCknow each other well, he's from the Schloss tree, etc, etc. That all sounds great, but if we get Vitello, does he bring Frank Anderson back?
That seems like it would not suck at all.
That’s one of the big reasons I want him back. Anderson is a bad mother fucker and Vitello has a pretty strong resume. If he brings Anderson and somehow keeps Tulo around then holy fucking shit

Wasn’t this the year that we obviously win if we’re not up until 1 am playing baseball against west coasters?
Yep. We got kinda hosed by the committee there. Whatever.
26 minutes ago, closetohumping said:What if every team has what ifs? In the end you are what you are
Yeah that was basically my point. The ifs don’t matter. The results do. And our results have been mediocre as fuck since losing to Mississippi state in the semis.

If CBS doesn't insist on a fucking single-game championship, we win another title in '89. 🤬🤬🤬
And if Sam Lecure doesn’t take a liner off the heal against Fullerton. And if we don’t pull Ruffin in game one….🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

We could pull this shit every year. What if Cantu tags that Long Beach state dude out in 2017? Then we get Fullerton with Kingham, Kennedy and Shugart. I like our chances there. Who knows in Omaha with that lineup and decent staff we had.
What if David Hamilton didn’t ride a scooter in 2019?
What if that whole covid thing didn’t happen in 2020?
If we catch that fly ball against Stanford and win in extras, who knows in Omaha (probably 0-2).
But yeah, we took that momentum of 2021 and turned it into 0-2 in Omaha, loss in the supers while not hosting a regional to 1-2 as a 3 seed in fucking college station. That’s where we’re at.
I’ve talked myself into Vitello. Everyone already hates us. Might as well bring in an asshole who thrives on hate.

Watching the teams, batting, and especially PITCHING and FIELDING in the CWS has overwhelming convinced me that DP has got to go! We're currently not even close to what is at the CWS today, with no expectation to be competitive with these teams a players. No brainer, without a doubt. a change is needed.
So this is what broke you? Not getting our asses beat on Tuesday nights or finishing 3rd in a down conference?

The ups and downs are pretty common. Chase Burns good freshman year relegated to the pen the following year then top notch this year. Your boy Gavin Kash dropped off this year - not poor but regression rather progression. Tommy White had his lowest average, OBP, slugging, XBHs, and RBIs with his most official ABs this year. Tre Morgan had his best year as frosh with respect to average, OBP, slugging and steals.
Now the regression is not as dramatic as Daly, but you can’t say the development is apparent either.
Ha my boy Kash. I hope that cocksucker gets aids. And not the Magic Johnson type. I’m talking Dallas Buyers Club full blown

Daly was a frosh AA, hit .300 and played decent defense. Two years of “development” with miserable results and he hit the portal for UK. Back to .300 at UK and a chance to win something Pierce will never sniff.
Here’s the thing though, others developed besides him. Melendez was solid in 2021 then historic in 2022. Stehly went apeshit in 2022. Faltine, Ardoin, Campbell, Hodo all took steps forward in their time here. I have no idea what happened with Daly but yeah. There’s plenty of things to knock Pierce on. Developing hitters isn’t necessarily one of them.

Calling my shot. Vitello to Texas. Schloss to Tennessee. Pierce to Rice. Steve Rodriguez to aggy. Make it so.

I get what you are saying, and almost all college rosters have holes, but the overall construction of the team has been way off for years.
In the last 3 recruiting classes, including the portal, the only two pitchers heading into next year who have contributed meaningful innings are Max Grubbs and Ace Whitehead. That is a horrendous hit rate.
More alarming is the poor feel Pierce seems to have for what is at his disposal. We've had to replace our closer midseason 3 freaking years in a row. We opened 2023 with Chris Stuart as our closer and 2024 with David Shaw as our closer. What did he see during the fall and spring to make those decisions? What did he see to make him feel Kimble Schuessler needed to split time with Galvan behind the plate? Why were we playing guys like Jayden Duplantier and Cam Constantine over Peyton Powell to start 2023? He had Mitchell Daly batting cleanup to start the 2022 season and forced that experiment down our throats for a month.
As has been discussed on here at length, he always did a good job of playing the hand he was dealt, but he was also dealing his own hand and continually giving himself 2/7 off-suit.
Plus one of our stud pitchers would always regress the next year. Ridgeway was awesome in 2018, sucked in 2019. Nixon was awesome in 2021, not so awesome in 2022. Stevens was an animal in 2021. He was pretty mediocre in 2022. LBJ was supposed to be our ace this year and we know how that turned out. Also pretty concerning he thought Witt and Harrison were going to be legit this year. It was obvious after about an inning from each of them this year that they didn’t have their mojo. So Pierce saw those 2 daily in practice and thought “yeah we got something here.” Which is kind of a huge problem
