  1. Now that "work from home" has become the norm how much longer until we can "play in the casino" from home? Tillman would probably be greatful.
  2. Prince Philip was determined that Charles be sent to boarding school to "toughen him up". I don't think they get any special treatment from the military and all have served. "During Charles' service window, the UK saw a number of shooting conflicts, most notably the Falklands War with Argentina and The Troubles, a military occupation of Northern Ireland. He saw action in neither conflict. While the Prince of Wales didn't see combat duty, he still trained vigorously with the members of units to which he was attached. He has trained in undersea warfare and commanded a Royal Navy Destroyer and has learned to fly helicopters and twin-engine jet fighters with the RAF. Charles also successfully completed the parachute regiment's jump training at an age much older than the average recruit."
  3. I got to see DKR play on my birthday in 1949. My parents took us to the game in Dallas. We lived in Tulsa and I was a Sooner growing up. I had never seen such a huge crowd. Luckily I changed teams, just like DKR. He will always be my football hero.
  4. I'm really starting to feel better about the market today and this coming from a guy who basically sold 75% of portfolio around early April. I think I actually heard the number of air travelers is climbing, no longer declining, and that Starbucks in China is doing well with a huge percentage now open and just now learned that China auto sales in April outpaced April a year ago. When I compare my eagerness to buy back in I have to balance that with what Buffet said, or didn't say. Still on the fence but warming up.
  5. Thank you thank you thank you. I knew it was in that area. Grandma got her first pair of "city" shoes there.
  6. Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that of the 37,000 who died in the U.S. with Covid-19 between Feb. 1 and April 25, 31% were over 85. But 40%, or 14,600 people, were between 45 and 75 years old, and could have expected to live many more years. Total deaths linked to the virus in the U.S. passed 64,000 on Friday. Most of the responses to the article stated this was BS I understand actuarial science, in general, but I am skeptical of a metric that says someone 50-59 with severe health problems will live an average of 21+ year more--which is only 6 years less than an average person. This is a characterization of "severe" that is unfamiliar to me.
  7. This is so puzzling I'm dizzy trying to understand. We have those on the left who generally support progressive thinking that support this woman and those on the right who generally scream law and order opposing those who step on fundamental rights.
  8. You sir will have a long and happy marriage.
  9. Latest snitch factor in Houston https://www.click2houston.com/news/local/2020/05/03/harris-county-asks-public-to-submit-businesses-violating-abbotts-reopening-orders/
  10. They are now down only around 284. Unless something drastic happens overnight I think it will be a normalized calm opening. I hope.
  11. Yeah. They were down about 20 pts earlier today. Now down about 400. Probably a lot like Friday repeat on Monday. I wonder if we will see those 1k point dives again this month?
  12. That makes me think it was open at one time. I seem to recall it was located on Loop 12 at i35?? Was it maybe called Prestonwood?
  13. Was North Park always an enclosed Mall? I recall going to NM there with my grandparents on ou weekend back in the late 50's . I thought it was a bunch of shops in an open air atmosphere.
  14. This is WHY regional rivalrys are so damned fun. ISU, WVU, nada.
  15. And yet United continues to fly daily non stop from Brazil (San Paulo) to Houston.
  16. I managed to listen to the entire broadcast and I cannot imagine how he lasted 4 1/2 hours. I'm about 8 years younger than Warren and I had to go to the bathroom 3 times :). His sidekick had very little to say and if he is the heir apparent we may be in for 1 hour shareholder meetings.
  17. I'd hope 3rd Qtr 10ks will be the bottom, possibly YE. By then we should have a pretty good indication if the economy is regressing or progressing as I hope at a much faster rate in 2021.
  18. For anyone interested the 2020 Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting is about to start at 3pm today on Yahoo Finance. Live stream due to COVID19. https://finance.yahoo.com/brklivestream/
  19. Ouch! I hope you made a huge profit. I understand buying naked calls. That's easy. Where I get confused is buy to open or sell to open naked puts. Right now May 15th puts $700 are going for 48.35 Bid. If you BUY TO OPEN what is the profit/loss if it goes to $800 or down to $600
  20. Once a month $480 Supplemental Medical $289 Medicare $155 Part D $924/month for wife and I
  21. Sorry I cannot like but Surly says I can only give one rep per day
  22. I've never heard of any of those companies. Where do you live?
  23. Pack your own lunch but bring your own face mask? I have no sympathy for any airline. They loved packing us in when times were good and now they have a perfect excuse to let the FA's sit on their asses for the duration of the flight. Greyhound in the sky.
