Texas Recruiting Notes 2023: Strippers, Monkeys, and 5-Stars
That's as long as they aren't O'line or LB's. Right?

2022 Transfer Thread - It's the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)
It will be interesting how this plays out, but yes it could get real crazy before it settles down.

I think it works because all the players are not on the field at the same time. They have a practice with the 1st group, then the 2nd group comes out.

I read that Alabama has done split practices. Not sure exactly sure how it works, but something to the effect of first team types for 2 hours and then another 2 hour session for the others. Pretty sure the coaches don't like it but it makes sense. I had hoped Sark would have used something like that for us.

2022 NFL DRAFT
That's right, we might have great coaches and not know it. But back to reality, it really shows us where we are.

A 2 4 defense is all I need to know.

Orange White Spring Game, Sat. April 23rd (Gates Open 4pm. Game starts 6pm)
I didn't see Collins do anything either. I had really high hopes for the guy, but he looks like he just can't, or won't play.

He would be so far behind Teddy Lehman in a 100 meter race he couldn't even smell his farts.

It will be interesting to see how the tax deal works out. Pretty sure a lot of these guys are going to be shocked when the tax man comes around. Then shocked again when they find out how much a good accountant is to take care of the tax problems. I agree that the Texas model will win out, but like the moonshiners bags aren't going away.

Yes. If they made our team better. If we, God forbid, had a worse O'line than we have now and were coming off of a 1 win season and they would get us to 5 , why not? edit: that's assuming they were the best we could get in the portal.

I'm sure the Texas legislature will be on the cutting edge of this.

If we're telling O'line recruits we won't take portal guys or any more recruits at their position, we are doing it wrong. Are we getting a commitment from a recruit in return that he won't portal out. I doubt it, and even if we do it wouldn't be worth much. I can see maybe telling a generational QB that he will be the only recruit at his position in that year, and even so how much value does that kind of deal have.

Dam right. Might be some over-analyzing going on here, if you can improve the team do it.

Texas Tech ranked #2, who woulda thunk it?

I keep seeing we had good YPC, and the o'line was improving as the season went on. That's good but I think the most important thing for an offensive line is being able to get the 1 or 2 yards needed for a 1st down when the opponent knows you are going to run. Don't think we've been very good at that. I don't have any stats to back that up other than my drunken memory of many failures trying to make short yardage first downs.
