Damn - that’s savage. They didn’t just relieve him of his duties...they put him in a skillet of hot grease and burned that sucker to a crisp!
Crispy bacon.
Mensa didn’t dream up the illegal formation strategy to run clock. It was dumb to run the play, unwise to score, and more proof that essentially every living person should be a Mensa member.
I agree that Kleimann (another Mensa member?) screwed up by not declining the penalty and giving his team a chance. By missing that decision, he (with no timeouts) left the game to a certain clock drain and a virtually certain probability of a made FG as time expired.
That last sequence will not make any coaching excellence instructional videos due to bad choices from both sidelines...
Agree with previous comments - this would have been much harder, but Mensa has already made me numb to losing...
Pinning my hopes on Shaka seems rather foolhardy. Maybe I’ll shift my focus to volleyball???
What would even cause a guy to bring Urquidy into that situation? Awful night for Hinch - everyone has them, but hopefully not when they are managing Game 7 of the World Series.
Good grief - why the hell didn’t Hinch IW Soto with 1st base open? Been avoiding my technology, but that was the straw that broke the camel’s back for me.
I get the clean inning argument, but I also question his failure to have Cole follow Greinke. Cole is best positioned to gobble up the residual 2 2/3s innings at that point.
He also just dodged a bullet with that Pressly decision. Not AJ’s best night...wrong time to choke on several hairballs...
This offense is up to this challenge, but we are stuck in the bottom of the order, and there is too much pressing. The key is baserunners.
That Altuve at bat mystifies me. Contact was key, but he was chasing bad pitches and swinging for the fence from his heels. That was odd...
Peacock hasn’t been lights out, but we need outs to save the more reliable bullpen arms in this situation. Glad Hinch makes this call. I would not want to have to make it here.
Shoe is on the other foot for me, but Juju and Boswell would have to score a combined 22 in what’s left of the 4th quarter to take this one out of the win column.
