  1. I think an administration as a party to a suit is a totally different animal than the appointer being a criminal defendant in a case in front of the appointee. Especially when the appointer is looking at the rest of his worthless life in prison. Even if that weren't the case, it's obvious that Trump is a different animal than every other potus in that he's worshiped by a cult in which Cannon and the Federalist Society are high priests. Don't really think that an appellate court could or would fashion an objective test for determining a politician is the head of a cult, though. The Special Master snafu probably wouldn't justify recusal in a vacuum, but in context I think it's damning. Sounds like we'll have to agree to disagree on that.
  2. To anyone sentient and possessing even a passing familiarity with human beings, merely pointing to the fact that the defendant gave her the fucking gavel should be sufficient proof of bias in his favor. Add in the overwhelming "I wanna suck a little orange dick" energy from her rulings last year and I don't know how you make a credible argument that she isn't biased.
  3. This is fucking insane. It's unbelievable how much damage Cheeto Benito managed to inflict on this country in 4 years. Not that the damage stopped at the end of his term.
  4. Just listened to this and it was indeed hilarious, thanks.
  5. Couldn't agree more. I'm usually the last person to jump to the conspiracy conclusion, but that doesn't mean I pretend they don't happen. They do and this is starting to look like one.
  6. I wish I hadn't read them. The amount of insane idiots in this country is depressing as hell.
  7. There's zero chance of the clown's case in chief not being a circus regardless of cameras. I can't imagine what would be a compelling argument against televising. Trials are public events, and refusing to allow television in this day and age is unseemly as fuck, and is particularly foolish when so many people are falling prey to misinformation and conspiracy theories. Congress should've already forced this on the judiciary in my opinion.
  8. I think this judge may take a different view than Cannon. I'm still not quite sure how a wealthy, powerful person who owns a jet, has property and connections around the world, and is facing the rest of his life in prison isn't a significant flight risk. And I really don't see how he's not a danger to the country until he's locked up.
  9. He'd only get bail pending appeal if the judge thought he was likely to prevail and did not pose a flight risk or danger to the community. I don't think he'd get it.
  10. I'm slowly starting to think the US won't be a thing come 2073. I fully believe the polarization of not only opinions, but also of facts, will only get worse, and in any case is unreversible, at least as long as Murdoch and his successors are poisoning the well of political discourse in this country.
  11. Had nothing to do with the House. Garland was always only going to pursue the orange menace with a special counsel to ward off the PoLiTiCaL PrOsEcUTiOn bullshit as best he could.
  12. Dotard would shift all our Ukraine aid to Russia to own the libs.
  13. I just love how transparently horrible these people are. This was like trying to defend Nazi concentration camps by pointing out that a lot of jews had been wanting to lose weight. "Just giving you the facts!"
  14. "Productive" is probably the least likely and least believable possible description of that meeting. What's it gonna produce, aside from the indictment, dotard?
  15. You sure they need to prove he knew the fraud claims were bogus? Seems like believing there was fraud shouldn't make it legal to make a counterfeit elector slate thing and send it to Congress. Even if there had been fraud, there was no information indicated he was the true winner but for the fraud. I'm certain that genuinely believing you were robbed is not a defense to inciting a riot to stay in power.
  16. I don't see him being imprisoned, unfortunately. But if it somehow happens, I would think he'd get a whole floor/wing/block to himself and his secret service detail. So whichever federal prison could accommodate that would get him.
