  1. Yea 60% of the people around the academy are assholes and the “Look I’m a firefighter” type. I could probably revise it to 70% but I’ll give them benefit of the doubt. Between DT station Lt’s posting overtime paystubs cause they think 100k is some VIP club, Captains telling us about 10k vacations they had to take for calling Hillary Clinton a cunt on FB, too most of the white shirts saying they can’t remember the last fire they showed up to, it was eye opening for sure. Even just the exaggeration of calls a day. Id tell your 20 y/o if he can make it past the first hour without going to the hospital due to collapsing, then he’ll have a nice job. AFD is/was notorious about that for awhile, and they can’t attract any laterals for that reason as well.
  2. When Trump loses a second time, the MAGA movement, just like their memories of high school, will be over and their success exaggerated. Also, I'd call point of order on the smoked meats since Prasek's is in Hillje before El Campo.
  3. Wont blame Schiff for getting the matchup he wants, too early to tell how that affects the balance of the US House when I'm pretty sure California mails their shit to everybody
  4. 2020 Exit polling in Texas to put some data behind guesses https://www.cnn.com/election/2020/exit-polls/president/texas/7
  5. Clean up car wrecks, kitchen stove fire, andthen hope Paramedics beat you to scene. Thats what every LT and Capt would come in to tell you. This was in Class 125 and 126
  6. Papa Soros is already cleaning things up in Cameron, Hidalgo and Dallas counties.
  7. What is the expectation of Gilbert Hinojosa? The whipping boy status needs to be put out there. Given no credit for '18 from the board, YUGE tangible increases in '16 and '20 participation. '12 was dismal after 6 months on the job, '14 was not good for abortion barbie label. '22 was a push.
  8. Will be interesting to see how many one issue voters arise out of this for public education. My uncle is a huge MAGA guy, his mind didn't move at all on the gun issue after Sutherland Springs when members of his own extended family were involved, but he has been a band directorfor 30+ year all over NW Harris Co but he's smart enough to know the first thing that gets cut in public education is the arts. @slorch from your posts I always figured you were a big advocate for public education (apologies if I'm misremembering). Would the results of yesterday give you pause to vote for a R state house member that is pro voucher or state senator? Also, anyone who jumps on him for the answer is a loser and not invited to my birthday party
  9. My prediction is right and I’ll hold the parade later. First sizable elections for Trump on the ballot after Jan 6th and it’s a disaster.
  10. TX-23 congressional seat now under 50% for Tony Gonzales

  12. That’s how you infiltrate a party #psyops
  13. https://www.reddit.com/live/1cmjx7iocrgff/ this is the results for all Super Tuesday, which may be better for the 2024 Presidential thread. I’ll let our benevolent mod decide. scroll from bottom to up Texas Election Source, Scott Braddock and Jeremy Wallace are good follows and of course #txlege will be a good search on Twitter
  14. Capping fees to $8 allow them (poors) to be late on rent and not have it affect them, according to the banks that said they will pass it on to responsible consumers
  15. https://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/laws/advisory2020-05.shtml I voted in the primary election on March 3, 2020. Why did they ask if I wanted a Republican or Democratic ballot? The primary elections are two separate elections that occur on the same day. The elections are the method for both the Republican and Democratic parties to select their nominees for the general election in November. When a voter votes in a primary election or primary runoff election, they are affiliating with the party whose primary they are voting in. (§162.003). A voter who is affiliated with a political party is ineligible to become affiliated with another party during the same voting year. (§162.012). This means a voter cannot vote in both primary elections, or the primary election of one party and the runoff election of another party. Some counties will have joint primaries and/or the parties will share polling places. In a county where the Republican and Democratic parties are sharing polling places, the voter must identify the primary in which they would like to vote, in order to ensure they receive the correct ballot and are marked as voting in the correct primary election.

  17. NGL, I’d love to be sitting at that table rn with the beer flowing
  18. As a reminder, it is I who decides on Democratic messaging. Others get in line. Like Pete.
  19. It’s always been that way
  20. Damn I had no clue Mark Harris was running for Congress again in North Carolina. He literally, had an associate of his campaign found guilty of election fraud and had to drop out in 2018. Had a very memorable cry
