  1. ’67 Worster Bunch to compare with 2022 predicted class. Steve Worster is the first "National" recruit in college football history. 13 of the state’s top 22 football recruits signed with Texas in 1967, including 3 of the 4 best backs. The only two out-of-state recruits were Bobby Mitchell and Fred Steinmark, both from Wheatridge, CO. The Worster bunch would earn 3 SWC championships, two national championships, and win 30 games in a row from 1968-70. 1. Phillips, Eddie - QB 2. Worster, Steve - FB 3. Collins, Terry - FB 4. Callison, Bobby - FB 5. Dale, Billy - TB 6. Robichau, Paul - HB 7. Robinson, Johnny - HB 8. Speyrer, Charles - OE 9. Wuensch, Bobby - OT 10. Stout, Randy - OT 11. Palmer, Scott - OT 12. Mitchell, Bobby - OG 13. Dean, Mike - OG 14. Braband, Baxter - OG 15. Achilles, Jim - OC 16. Zapalac, Bill - DE 17. Atessis, Bill - DE 18. Ploetz, Greg - DT 19. Henderson, Scott - LB 20. Cormier, Jay - LB 21. Richardson, David - LB 22. Lester, Danny - DB 23. Steinmark, Fred - S 24. Feller, Happy - K I’m sure I’ve missed someone, so please correct the list because I think there were thirty recruits total.
  2. Your predicted 2022 class would be the second highest rated recruiting class TEXAS has ever had since 1999 when they started the ratings star system. Higher ranked than the #1 Nationally ranked Vince Young class of 2002 (.9104). And 2nd only to the #2 Nationally ranked Jackson Jeffcoat class of 2010 which is my pick for the most disappointing TEXAS class of ALL Time. I have been following TEXAS Longhorn football recruiting for a very long while, way before sure., or Gotch Yarbourgh, or the fax machine. Your 2022 predicted class would rival both the '80 class (which had 16 NFL draft choices in 1984), and may be even the '67 Woster Bunch, which I believe is the best class (30-1-2) that ever stepped foot on the Forty. I am hoping you turn out to be right.
  3. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/2015/10/17/msus-watts-jackson-injured-winning-touchdown/74157740/ same thing
  4. Kansas St.'s Chris Ceballos gets injured celebrating the walk-off homer that beat TCU and helped TEXAS share the Big XII 2021 baseball championship. This after he hits a walk-off three run homer in the bottom of the ninth with two out to cap an eight run deficit for the come from behind victory at home on Senior Day the last day of the season. If he can't play in the Big XII tournament it will be a really disappointing end to the story. It reminds me of the Michigan St. kid who broke his hip celebrating after game-winning touchdown.
  5. Let TCU dogfight their way out of the bracket with Texas Tech and Baylor. Along with having to play Kansas St. again in the first game. The Longhorns just have to get by West Virginia (or Kansas) and then beat either Oklahoma St. or ousux to be in the Championship game.
  6. Predicted correct result, but Incorrect path. Not going to do any gambling with those prophetic skills. But I am going to watch the #1 seeded Texas Longhorns play West Virginia (or Kansas) in the Big XII Tournament on ESPN+ at 4:00 PM CST at the home field of the 2020 World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers Triple-AAA affiliate Oklahoma City Dodgers Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Tickets available here https://www.milb.com/oklahoma-city/tickets/big-12 Thank you Dr. Pepper, Gatorade, Phillips 66, and Academy for sponsoring the tournament. @B00M
  7. Next, TEXAS sweeps West Virginia at Disch-Falk; and K State takes 1 of 3 from TCU in Manhattan. TEXAS wins the XII Conference on head-to-head tiebreaker and gets #1 seed for XII Tournament. Light the top of the tower orange.
  8. Sugar Land is playing the Albuquerque Isotopes. https://www.milb.com/player/c-j-hinojosa-546994
  9. Albuquerque, New Mexico - CJ Hinojosa just doubled in Jose Siri in the top of the 2nd inning for the very first RBI ever of the Sugar Land Skeeters as the Triple AAA farm team of the Houston Astros. Congrats to a Lifetime Longhorn. Way to go CJ. He is playing 2nd and batting 6th.
  10. This roster will probably never happen, but I enjoy thinking about the possibilities, and the anticipation to see who actually signs up. I haven't had this much fun with Texas MBB since 2014. 1. SG Andrew Jones, 6-4 (14.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists in 2020-21) - 102 games played, including 68 starts 2. CG Devin Askew, 6-3 (6.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists in 2020-21) - 25 games played, including 20 starts 4. G/W Jaylon Tyson, 6-6, incoming Freshman 5. F Brock Cunningham, 6-5 (1.6 points, 3.1 rebounds in 2020-21) - 41 games played with one start 6. 11. shadow, I said that roster is improbable. However, Beard is over halfway to that roster now, and he has better than a "puncher's" chance to add Ramey, Sims, & Williams. If, and it's a big if, beard gets 10 of 13 on that list then I'm not going to "nitpick" him on whomever he fills the remaining three spots with.
  12. "Maybe baby," it is amusing to contemplate the remote chances however improbable ... 1. SG Andrew Jones, 6-4 (14.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists in 2020-21) -102 games played, including 68 starts 2. SG Jase Febres, 6-5 (5.2 points, 1.5 rebounds in 2020-21) -104 games played, including 62 starts 3. CG Devin Askew, 6-3 (6.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists in 2020-21) -25 games played, including 20 starts 4. G/W Jaylon Tyson, 6-6 5. F Brock Cunningham, 6-5 (1.6 points, 3.1 rebounds in 2020-21) -41 games played with one start 6. F Timmy Allen, 6-6 (17.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists in 2020-21) -85 games played, including 82 starts 7. PF Christian Bishop, 6-7 (11.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.1 blocks in 2020-21) -90 games played, including 62 starts 8. CG Courtney Ramey, 6-3 (12.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists in 2020-21) 9. PF Jericho Sims, 6-10 (9.2 points, 7.2 rebounds in 2020-21) 10. PF Bryson Williams, 6-8, UTEP (15.1 points, 7.4 rebounds in 2020-21) 11. CG Jacob Young, 6-2, Rutgers (14.1 points, 1.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists in 2020-21) 12. F Greg Brown, 6-9 (9.3 points, 6.2 rebounds in 2020-21) 13. PG De’Vion Harmon, 6-1, Oklahoma (12.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.1 steals in 2020-21) SG Andrew Jones, 6-4 / SG Jase Febres, 6-5 CG Devin Askew, 6-3 / CG Courtney Ramey, 6-3 F Timmy Allen, 6-6 / F Brock Cunningham, 6-5 PF Bryson Williams, 6-8 / PF Christian Bishop, 6-7 PF Jericho Sims, 6-10 / F Greg Brown, 6-9 G/W Jaylon Tyson, 6-6 CG Jacob Young, 6-2 PG De’Vion Harmon, 6-1 That roster would win at least twenty-two games and be in the NCAA Tournament, possible through to the Sweet Sixteen.

  14. Can we get an "end of week" update on transfers to Texas, including the addition of Christian Bishop? Thanks.
  15. That makes six NBA drafted players (not the same year) on one college team (Houston Cougars 1982-83), and they didn't win the NCAA championship. Either that was the worst coaching (Guy V. Lewis) effort ever, or the NBA teams were just wrong about everyone except Hakeem and Clyde. Guy V. Lewis had another team with six NBA drafted players (not the same year) too (Houston Cougars 1983-84) that didn't win the NCAA championship either. Although Drexler was not on the team that lost to Georgetown.
  16. When Clyde Drexler and Hakeem Olajuwon (both NBA Hall of Fame & in the 50 best NBA players of all time) cannot win an NCAA title while on the same team with three other NBA drafted players (Michael Young, Larry Micheaux, and Alvin Franklin) Houston Cougars 1982-83 then yes, I would say the NCAA tournament is difficult
  17. Al McGuire and John Thomson won 5 to become champions Valvano won six because NCSt did not get a first round bye
  18. You are right, I stand corrected. 1975 went to 32 not 64 https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men/article/2021-03-14/march-madness-history-ultimate-guide so add 1 Al McGuire https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_McGuire Marquette 1977 2 John Thompson https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Thompson Georgetown 1984 ttto the list that did not have to win6 games in the tournament

  21. The NCAA Division I Tournament expanded to 64 team in 1975. Only three of those coaches did not have to win six games to become National Champions. 1. 22. Grasshopper, I was remembering Bret Stafford. Who ended up selling tile & carpet in Temple, Belton & Harker Heights to Ft. Hood personnel. While he was trying to fish for a living.
  23. Are guys talking about the Stafford who sells carpet in Temple, TX? 😁
  24. Princely Umanmielen Dorbah is a Linebacker/Rover, not a DT/NT. Vernon Broughton, Jacobian Guillory, Alfred Collins, and Princely Umanmielen are the four DT/NT I would like to see see signed.
