  1. FWIW - Oregon St didn’t really play him in the slot - he was only slot WR about 20% of his snaps.
  2. Woodinville has a shitload of wineries.
  3. This is silly. He just spent 4 years in the PAC 12, he’s not coming up from Division II.
  4. CJ Vogel (TFB & OnTexas Football) reported that he spoke with Bryson Rodgers (WR Ohio St) this morning and Texas is trying to schedule a visit. Rodgers said that if they can’t figure out a schedule today he’ll likely move on. Rodgers is a 4 star 2023 who appeared in one game and recorded no stats at Ohio St this year. https://247sports.com/player/bryson-rodgers-46110420/
  5. FWIW - Bobby confirmed this morning that Texas is still evaluating WRs and are considering CJ Daniels (Liberty), LaJohntey Wester (FAU), Dorian Singer (USC by way of Arizona), and Silas Bolden (OregonSt) from the portal.
  6. Only 2 drops in 128 targets the last two years. interesting offer.
  7. Ran a ton of really short routes (avg depth of target was 8 yards) and had a so/so YAC (5.1yds). 5’11” and 167 pounds. Almost exclusively out of the slot that last three years.
  8. Nahlin (IT) mentioning FAU WR LaJohntay Wester as another possible option for Texas. Wester went into the portal back on Dec 15 and had had visits to Colorado and Florida St. 100+ catches for 1100+ yards this season https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/lajohntay-wester-1.html Wester has a brother, Jaylen Wester , a LB also at FAU who entered the portal a few days ago.
  9. In answer to a question from a poster - Nahlin says that Dorian Singer is another receiver they are having discussions with.
  10. Nahlin (IT) is putting in a CB / RPM (80%) for Houston DT Jamaree Caldwell to sign with Texas. Nahlin said they have no update on CJ Daniels (Liberty WR visiting Texas today), but that Texas is still evaluating multiple WRs, TEs, and DBs.
  11. This. By the time the portal window closed, and the recruiting class imploded, Melk-O was down to something like 60 scholarship athletes. They need bread just to field a team.
  12. Lowest rated of the 5 Florida LBs with 100 snaps.
  13. For all of Watts faults - mostly a lack of speed - he was the best run defender at the position and he was more than willing to scrape paint on his helmet (which makes his unwillingness to try safety all the more puzzling).
  14. Yes - Austin High. I expect he'll go somewhere close, at a lower level, where he may have a chance to compete for a starting spot. Sam Houston would welcome him with 'Arms Wide Open'.
  15. What's everyone's infatuation with Akina coming back here...I just don't get it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duane_Akina Seriously though - there have been so many bad years in the secondary people are nostalgic for what it was like during the Akina years. The guy is 67 years old and in semi-retirement, while I think he'd be a nice add as an analyst - I don't think he's going to move the needle too much when it comes to performance. And he spent 13 years in Arizona before coming to Texas - so he might not be as nostalgic for Austin as Texas fans are for him.
  16. Walk-ons enter the transfer portal like everyone else. That’s why the total numbers for the portal are inflated - they include walk-ons.
  17. Yes, which is why the post I was responding to didn’t make any sense. Neither of those (Nansen and Singer) would be wish-casting. That’s why I clarified Singer was in the portal - thinking maybe the poster was unaware. I sang it as I read it.
  18. McMillan isn't in the portal - Singer is.
  19. Nahlin posted that if Nansen is the choice at LB coach he probably has a pretty good evaluation of just how good (or not) Dorian Singer is. Might be he enters the conversation for Texas. For those that don't remember - Dorian Singer had a big year for Arizona in 2022 and was one of the top WRs to enter the portal after the season. USC won the recruitment and then Singer went on to have a very underwhelming season with the Trojans.
  20. Anyone got a link to that spreadsheet of the Texas roster by class?
  21. Just as additional info - Sark pulled Nansen out of Idaho and hired him as a Special Teams Coordinator/DL coach on his initial staff at Washington. Sark moved him to RBs after a couple of seasons and then brought him with to USC and gave him the Assistant Head Coach title. If he moves to Texas I would assume that he will get one of those AHC type titles to justify the money above just being a LB coach. Nansen's daughter is also at Texas already in the football office. Nansen and Sark are apparently close. SEC is a step up from the new Big 12.
  22. That’s what Bobby has been saying.
  23. Class of 2019. Will be looking for a 6th year.
