  1. I give Biden nominal credit for paying lip service to some progressive ideas but he clearly has little interest in delivering on his “platform”. - No significant student debt cancellation yet despite campaign promises. - Nothing on guns - infrastructure week is every week again for some reason, except for real now. -Public option on healthcare? LMAO who even remembers this? - Nothing is going to get done on immigration. - Trump’s tax cuts are here to stay it appears despite Biden saying he’d undo them. - Outmaneuvered by McConnell at every turn with minimal pushback, everyone saw it coming and the obvious ways to avoid it. - Climate change effort will most certainly be nowhere close to enough. - How about protecting voting rights? Good job getting Manchin to water down the bill to get zero GOP votes again. - $15 minimum wage? He let the senate parliamentarian line item veto that out of the recovery bill. No pushback. - How’s the DOJ going? - How about Louis DeJoy? He still have a job at the post office? - Federalist Society Christopher Wray kept on as head of FBI despite the insurrection under his watch. - $2000 became $1400 unless you made 80k in 2019, then it became zero. - Instead of looking for ways to uplift people out of poverty, he’s decided to be “tough on crime” Joe Biden this week. Very cool. - Had summit with Putin for no goddamn reason - D.C. and Puerto Rico aren’t going to become states under Biden - The courts are not going to be expanded -Breyer isn’t going to retire and there’s probably no White House effort to lobby him OKAY, now the good: - Pandemic response has been exceptional - pulling out of Afghanistan - Juneteenth made federal holiday Biden advocated for neither of these last two during the campaign but a win is a win. Dude sold himself as a moderate that could get things done because he knew how the Senate worked and said Republicans would have epiphany once Trump was gone. (Everyone knew this was delusional when he said it too). Joe Biden, much better than Trump but still pretty awful. DID I MENTION DEMOCRATS CONTROL HOUSE,SENATE, and WHITE HOUSE?
  2. Honestly, that Biden clip is something I’d expect from Trump, almost verbatim. Not a good moment for Uncle Joe.
  3. Trump was on another level of stupid and it often makes Biden look smart by comparison but this clip is a good reminder that Biden isn’t very smart either. Ah yes, the F-15s that were nowhere to be seen on January 6th, they would have surely saved us if it went differently. Unless Biden is intending to drone strike Mar-a-lago, he shouldn’t bring up the jets and nukes being deployed on citizens.
  4. The NCAA has a legal monopoly on professional football players in the prime years of their adult athletic careers right now. 18-21 year old NFL level talented athletes do not have options in America to earn a living playing football. They’d have to leave the country or play in NCAA for a “scholarship.” It’s a fucked up system when you think about it.
  5. I imagine as governor of Florida, DeSantis could make Trump’s life uncomfortable if he wanted. I read a rumor that DeSantis wouldn’t extradite Trump to NY if he gets indicted by the Manhattan DA. Completely stupid rumor, but is it though?
  6. Nah, he’s going to run and either be the nominee or drop out and be Trump’s VP. Something like a 1980 Reagan vs Bush primary scenario would be the savvy move but there’s too many assholes like Cruz, Hawley, and Paul to execute it effectively.
  7. Our society is kinda organized around the selfishness of white men and there isn’t much better evidence of it than Donald Trump being elevated to the presidency. The shining city upon a hill, American exceptionalism, manifest destiny, white man’s burden, under God, rugged individualism.... 200+ years of this bullshit hardwired into the psyche is not going to be easy to overcome.
  8. That happens to have the most diversity. And that diversity is growing. “Diversity” is not defined merely by skin color, sexual preference, or other superficial identities. Point being, black people can uphold white supremacy, gay people can suppress LGBT rights, and women can further advance the patriarchy. History is littered with examples. New faces in high places may make a society feel better about itself but it is among the smallest steps to solving the structural problems of the day.
  9. Still younger than several Senators including McConnell and Bernie. These guys do not give up power because they’re too old.
  10. I hope you’re right but I see no evidence to indicate it. Biden’s a polished career politician and the perception will be “stakes too high for Biden not to run.”
  11. I expect Biden to lose re-election so I imagine the republicans will certify their new king
  12. The winner getting certified and republicans refusing to certify are not mutually exclusive. Point here is republicans will fuck around and the finding out isn’t guaranteed.
  13. It’s predictable what is going to happen. Biden isn’t getting anything through the Senate. Republicans will win the house in 2022 and open investigations into fake scandals targeting the Biden administration and Trump’s perceived enemies. Biden will run for re-election and Republicans will not certify the results unless their guy wins, doesn’t matter if it’s Trump or DeSantis.
  14. Poorly but the democrats aren’t exactly the U.S. Pacific Fleet in this analogy.
  15. They are more dangerous because they are losing power and not reforming. They are being rewarded when they cheat and there are no meaningful consequences when they lose and get caught. Their agenda is to beat democracy to death until they win or die. It’s a kamikaze movement.
