  1. We will see. I’ve been banging the drum at 12-14 guys getting drafted and have him as a potential early entry. I’m not guaranteeing it or anything but he’s a guard. If he gets a 5th or 6th round grade and every other person on his oline is gone I could see him saying peace out. We shall see.
  2. They couldn't possibly need another DE I wouldn't think. I have them getting an OL b/c I have Cam WIlliams gone (and have all year) and I think DJ goes as well. I don't see how he benefits from being the only returner coming back to a brand new line- it's so important to play as a cohesive unit that's one guy that I don't know actually improves his stock coming back- but if he doesn't come back then that frees up money for someone else and if he does we are paying him anyway, so... probably nets out at a wash either way. I think you are dead bang on with all the numbers and at exactly those positions. I think what's maybe more interesting is trying to asses the quality you need at each spot. OL (if DJ is back)- you need a guaranteed above average player WR- 1 star, 1 depth piece TE- Pass- I love Washington though TB- Pass (the incoming freshmen look good- I could see them taking one if Blue leaves which I'd suspect he will)- hit that in the spring if you get bad news on Baxter LB- Depth piece DB- 1 starter 2 depth pieces K/P- Star. Even star shouldn't cost more than 100k each, right? Don't fuck around with shitty specialists on a team that you think is going to be really good- go get top of class guys at each place. So- that leaves DT. I wasn't worried this year and hand waved away all the concerns. I was right to do so. Next year is terrifying. I think you need to bring in an all conference type plus another starter type plus a depth piece. Other than WR for the star this would be my 2nd and 3rd highest paid portal guys. It's really bleak what's going on right there. I think we overstate a bit how important the position is (especially if the backers are good) but you don't want a fucking donut in the middle either.
  3. 1M for an All American DT sounds fine- if that's your only hole from being a playoff team vs. not. It's too bad we probably need more like 2 or 3 dudes there, that all probably need to be starter quality. Needing a couple of WR's, a LB, a Corner (I'm guessing), Kicker, Punter and an OL (again- guessing they will want to get at least 1 if the entire line is gone) would have me believe they don't go AA or top of the market at that position, but if they want to I wouldn't complain. What's your portal number guess? I've got 10 incoming.
  4. Money or something. In addition to eternal glory. We will figure that something out after the SEC title game where we see which way the playoffs go.
  5. Week 12- Texas @ Texas aggy Game Winner- 16-6 prediction (was 17-7) @t_eight missing by 2 total points Prop winner- 217 yards passing for Texas (actual was 218) @Sgt Hulk Good job fellas.
  6. Everyone within 10 yards of the target- plus @DFW Hornwho made a random prediction that was perfect. @Sgt Hulk is the winner of the prop contest with 217 prediction with 218 being the actual.
  7. All the longhorn by 10 prediction winners. Good job fellas. @t_eight by far the winner- missing by only 2 points overall, 1 point short for each team.
  8. You didn't win. you just got close. I usually pull everyone within 10 yards as a multi-quote as the quickest way of figuring this shit out.
  9. Everyone within 10 yards (674 was the final figure) @Texasborn91 winner at 1 yard over. Congrats!
  10. Lots of people close. Lots of 31-13 and one 31-15. @FloridaHorn does indeed win on the tie breaker- Nice job buddy.
  11. Week 11- Kentucky at Texas @FloridaHorn with the winner- he was one of like 6 or 7 people within 1 point- but he won the tie breaker fairly easily @Texasborn91 wins the prop contest- he had 675 total yards and the total yardage for both teams together was 674.
  12. bump while I figure it out
  13. First time all year I don't like the matchup. I can't unsee what happened in October with us getting whipped up front and not being able to threaten them. Georgia 27 Texas 17. This seems like a bad matchup for us in a styles make fights kind of way. Hope I'm wrong. Prop Bet- Total rushes and yards for Texas 21 for 73. Silver lining- whatever happens with this game we are either the SEC champs in our first year in the conference which would just be delicious on so many levels- or we get the 5 or 6 seed and go something like Big 12 Champ then Boise or Indiana then SMU or something dumb into the semi-Final. So, either way we will absolutely be rewarded for another fine regular season. All that said lets go whip their asses.
  14. It probably depends on the sport- right? Football the Head Coach is so important even at the NFL level they have the upper hand most of the time in that power dynamic and that makes sense. Obviously you want alignment, but the head coach has to be final decision maker in 8 or 9 out of 10 successful scenarios- even more so in college football where there isn't a draft and personality matters in recruiting at least somewhat, at least as a tie breaker. Baseball and hoops it's a lot more important your roster building (GM) than it is your coaching and scheming chops (coach). Those dudes with the whistle or the fungo are basically interchangeable for all but the top of the top. I don't know that there is enough money in baseball or even basketball to add that in there so I would assume it stays with the coach/manager but yeah- those sports are 4 or 5 parts roster building to 1 part coaching- whereas football is probably 1/1.
  15. It’s played out like I saw it. Sark is literally the perfect man for the times for UT. He’s got a lot of wind in the sails but he’s doing everything he should.
  16. The acc gets zero benefit of the doubt from me. Go win that conference or at least don’t lose to BYU and get mouthy about wanting your way in. I think they’d probably be unlikely to go 9-3 against bamas schedule. Or South Carolinas. I do think they’d go 9-3 or better against our schedule. Maybe not. But it wouldn’t surprise me.
  17. That’s not going to happen nor should it. I too would go with South Carolina over Bama but there are certainly arguments including head to head for Bama. But, that was a 2 point win for Bama at Bama. That would have SC winning at a neutral field if you believe the 3 point home field advantage.
  18. The disparity in special teams between these two teams is alarming. I will never understand not getting a punter in the portal this offseason and rolling with a true freshman. Just dumb. And the staff hasn’t done a lot of dumb since they have been here. Makes zero sense.
  19. We do not. Also- signing day is Wednesday so wouldn't even matter if we did.
  20. I can't even tell you how gleeful it would make me if aggy left the SEC and joined the Big 10 running from us. It would be the most amazing and wonderful thing that ever happened. My goodness it would be glorious. I mean, there is no way it will happen. But, it's also almost impossible to overstate how much little dick energy those dipshits bring to everything. I was fine with never playing them again. I was wrong. We should do this more often. It's glorious.
  21. Ho Hum. We beat aggy at their place, in a game that they were looking to be defining one for their program. Again. Same as it ever was, outside of one decade where they rampantly cheated and we had our heads up our own asses (something Texas does periodically every now and again). Ho Hum- we are entering a new conference and playing for the title. Again. Same as when we entered the SWC. Same as when we entered the Big 12. Ho Hum- we are back in the playoffs. Again. Ho hum- 7 win Sark, sarklostagain has 11 wins in the regular season. Again. Ho hum- we are about to sign another top 3 or top 5 recruiting class, again. Ho hum- we will probably rape and pillage in the portal, again. Ho hum- double digit draft picks incoming, again. Texas is back. We finally are not trying to play a rigged game straight, as NIL has allowed us to marshal our advantages in an above board manner. We have an admin that understands the importance of football and excellence to the culture of the University. We have a coach who is not just smart and competitive but also a genuine dude that people want to see succeed. Good dudes all over the roster. This also is built to last. Let's pay Georgia back for our one bad game of the year and finish winning the title. Also- just for old times sake POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR AGGIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIES SEC championship week game stuff goes here.
  22. We are sec ready man. We can do anything.
  23. You have a TO and you need 10 yards. Slide and call TO. That would give you a 52 yarder to win it.
