Does Marcus Stripling have any interest in Texas at all?  I know you've said before the main draw for him to aggy is his aggy obsessed bro.  Like you said a lot of these 2020 OL guys need to lose some weight and that Jordan Jefferson kid barely looks 6 ft. tall.  Trust the marine I guess??

I think he does and I think our staff has done a really good job just to keep him talking and listening, but I think the time and amount of negativity from the various coaching staffs and his brother is going to be nearly impossible to overcome. Like I said recently, it looks a lot like OU may end up the benefactor. The other interesting thing will be if Alabama gets serious about Marcus, if they do I think he'll leave his little brother in the rearview and end up with the Tide, but we'll see.

  2. now Sayles is posting about Akinola and Chibuzo, so I think the bat signal has been activated by the athletic dept.

Monday will be a day off for many. Not so much for the Texas A&M football staff. Monday will be a day to try and win over two 2020 Houston-area offensive linemen in Akinola Ogunbiyi and Smart Chibuzo. Ogunbiyi is an athlete who has Texas A&M very high on his list. The Aggies were the first program to take a chance on the 6-foot-4, 310-pound interior lineman, and since then, he has added offers from LSU, Oklahoma and Missouri. The last time Ogunbiyi took a visit to Texas A&M, on March 28, he was offered a scholarship. The Kempner High School standout said he is returning to speak with coaches, see the campus and take in the environment of College Station.

"I love it; I love what Jimbo Fisher is doing over there," said Ogunbiyi, who is being recruited by Fisher and offensive line coach Jim Turner.

While the program definitely intrigues him, Ogunbiyi said he is "just visiting to visit." There are no specified plans to commit on Monday; however, he's said on several occasions that his interest in the program is high, particularly with Fisher taking over the program and preparing for his first season.

"It's the SEC, and Aggieland is a great place to play football," Ogunbiyi said. "Especially with the years coming up."

The Aggies have two 2020 pledges -- both offensive linemen -- in Navasota 4-star Jordan Jefferson and The Woodlands College Park's Josh Bankhead. Jefferson is ranked the nation's No. 6 guard, according to 247Sports. Bankhead currently is unranked.

The minute Jimbo loses to Clemson and gets even mild criticism from the ags she's going to melt down.

TSRH. She's not an Aggie - she's a Jimbo fan. Same shit on the FSU boards before but Aggy will lose their mind that she's less than a 2%er

Fort Bend ISD has a trio of big-time offensive line prospects in the class of 2020 and Texas A&M got in early on all three of them. The Aggies were the first to offer both Kempner guard Akinola Ogunbiyi and Austin guard Kendal Septs. They were the third FBS offer for Hightower tackle Smart Chibuzo. All three players are close friends and have talked about playing together at the next level. All currently list A&M as their top schools as well. Ogunbiyi, who picked up offers from LSU, Missouri and Oklahoma this past week, now plans to make another trip to College Station on Monday. He will be joined on the trip by Chibuzo. The latter was just in Aggieland last weekend, when he was offered by A&M.

Though it probably will not happen just yet, there's a very good chance both players end up on the Aggie commit list before too long. Both have said they would like to make early decisions. Though neither is planning to commit on Monday, you never know as players often get caught up while on trips and they are both already coming in with the Aggies as the leaders. A&M already has two early commitments for the class of 2020, both offensive linemen, in Jordan Jefferson of Navasota and Josh Bankhead of The Woodlands College Park.

Just making an educated guess, I don't think they will commit tomorrow. But, I also don't think it will be too long before they eventually do so.

If this was to happen A&M would have 5 2020 kids. All five OGs (well, I guess Chibuzo is listed as an OT but he looks like a OG to me, hell Chibuzo and Septs already need to drop a lot of weight). I guess banking on the 2021 OT class?  (3 of them from the Katy Echo Chamber?). Still no offer for Curtis Stripling. I'm all for this as we could get back in on Akinola at any point. Taking 1-2 can't miss guys this far out is one thing, taking an entire OL class before their Junior year of high school? fuck that shit. If they are taking them to hold them and recruit over them fine, but then where is the offer for Stripling to help lock in Marcus?

  5. Excellent signing. Have seen him play baseball over the years. It’s rare to see a kid grow that fast and retain athleticism - much less increase athleticism. He’s going to wreck shop as a jumbo athlete.

Oh, no, @Tex Pete - you took me wrong. I was referring to golfclap about the blanket stereotypes, not you.  Just people who automatically assume somebody is "a fucking twat waffle" because they're affiliated with a school

Agreed if it's just a normal school, there's some fucking awesome posters on here from other schools. Aggy is a cult so the stereotype fits  ~98% of the time.  (*see what I did there?)

So glad that street agent jkb still has family members to sell. Didn’t the last family member get kicked off the Baylor team?

Yes. Travon Blanchard. Kicked off the team AT FUCKING BAYLOR. BAYLOR.

But these are totally different people I'm sure that Brown leaving Atascocita was on the level and not at all indicative of other problems.

So I was on Rivals looking for some info on Taurean Carter and my eyes are immediately drawn to the right side of the screen where they have their Top 10 prospects.  They have Theo Wease at 3 and Arjei Henderson at 6...IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY.

JFC how could anyone possibly come to that conclusion. Rivals rankings are so freaking bad.

Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell has sucked more Stoops cock than all of the Stoops combined.

He just decommitted from Baylor. He is also back in Beaumont. He was not at Atascocita very long. He was already gone when I went out there for spring ball a few weeks back. I'm honestly not sure what's going on there or if he's still a guy A&M is pursuing, but I'm going to check.

How many people here with jobs are allowed to pontificate about politics with customers?  I am a lawyer.  I have partners.  There is no way any of us would preach politics to our clients.  Period.  And we certainly wouldn't let our employees preach their political views to our clients.

Your job and your reality is not their job or reality. At all. Apples to anvils.

I didn't make the rules but athletes, musicians, writers, actors and now youtubers/gamers/other media personalities -- people listen to them. They have a platform and you don't. No one gives a fuck what you think about any of this but a 16 year old Fortnite gamer on Twitch? Fuck yes they do.

You don't have to like it, but it's a fact. NFL players are entertainers as well as athletes. So no - you can't pontificate about politics with customers but they sure as fuck can and will and the NFL can't do shit about it and in trying they only look foolish and give these guys more reason to be pontificating assholes, right or wrong is irrelevant.

Some of the posts are VIP, but it looks in "The Eyes" segment on 247 that talk is going on that Angilau may leave after 1 year on campus to do his mission trip and I seen mention of Grandy going on medical scholarship.

    here you go ::

There are two enigmas on the offensive line at this point — Mikey Grandy and Patrick Hudson — simply because Hand hasn’t gotten to work with them much on the field.

Grandy got some time on the field at the start of spring ball before suffering a concussion that had lingering effects and wiped out the rest of his spring. Hudson got some time on the field at the very end of spring and was very inconsistent.

Tom Herman said before spring ball ended that Grandy “needed” to get back on the field. It’s obvious Herman expects Grandy back for fall camp. But concussions, especially those that have lingering effects, can have different impacts on different people. And I’m told it might be too early to determine if Grandy is going to be ready for fall camp or not, which could raise bigger questions about if Grandy’s football future could be in doubt. It’s simply too early to tell. But there’s concern.

Hudson simply needs reps — lots of them, because even though he redshirted his freshman year (when he also suffered a broken foot), Hudson has barely played after suffering a torn ACL in the second game of last season.

There has been a lot of speculation regarding the enrollment date for 2018 offensive line signee Junior Angilau. The four-star recruit was once considering pushing off his enrollment at Texas to take a two-year mission trip after he graduates from high school. I caught up with several sources regarding the status of Angilau's decision, and it sounds like the Longhorns will be adding the offensive lineman this summer for offseason training.

Multiple sources close to Texas and the O-lineman confirmed Angilau is expected to enroll for the 2018 summer session following graduation from Salt Lake City (Utah) East on June 6. One source said it is believed that Angilau will enroll for his freshman year at Texas, and will then contemplate taking his two-year mission trip following his first season of college. However, no decision is set in stone, and it is simply an idea that has been discussed.

Angilau is the Longhorns' highest-rated offensive lineman Tom Herman signed in the 2018 recruiting cycle.

That was 1968 America by non-paid athletes at a time when Americans were being drafted to fight a war nobody wanted.

Does any of that describe this?

Oh, I see so an unpaid athlete ACTUALLY REPRESENTING THE UNITED STATES --- DURING A TIME OF WAR makes a protest and that is more acceptable than the picture you posted.

So the biggest problem you have is that these guys are paid employees? Is that it?  Because I gotta tell you of these two, one is a much bigger deal and is much more radical and it's not Colin Fucking Kaepernick in a Malcolm X hat.

The NFL should prohibit all divisive political activity by players while in uniform.

Only divisive? Who is the judge of what's divisive? Do you think forcing people to stand for the anthem is at all divisive?

The NFL should shut the fuck up and should've shut the fuck up from the beginning. They turned a small event into a massively negative impact for their league (on both sides of the fence). they can't get out of their own fucking way with their incredible overwrought and incredibly fucking stupid "protecting of the brand". do you know who brought incredible value to the brand? Ken Stabler. Joe Namath. Deion Sanders. John Matuszak. John Riggins. Billy White Shoes Johnson. Jack Tatum. etc ...   not a one of those guys would "get away" with any of the shit that they said or did on or off the field in the current iteration of that garbage fucking league because: ZOMG: THE SHIELD.

    Fuck the NFL.

College football is better in every single way and the gap is only growing.

  14. Howe article on the offer to Akporoghene ::

With Texas yet to get on the board with an offensive line commitment in the 2019 class, co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Herb Hand continues to leave no stone unturned looking for quality prospects. Hand’s latest offer, which went out on Wednesday, was extended to a lineman at one of the nation’s powerhouse prep program.

IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) tackle Chris Akporoghene is the latest linemen to receive an offer from Hand and the Longhorns. The 6-foot-4, 290-pound prospect posted about his offer on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon.

“Blessed and humbled to receive an offer from the university [sic] of Texas,” Akporoghene wrote.

Akporoghene’s story is an interesting one. Approximately three years ago, Akporoghene moved from Nigeria to the United States in order to pursue college opportunities, landing at The King’s Academy in Seymour, Tenn. Earlier this spring, Akporoghene transferred to IMG and the move has paid off in terms of the caliber of the school’s recruiting him now that he’s at a must-see location for college coaches during the spring evaluation period.

Since the end of January, Akporoghene’s offer list has grown to include the likes of Michigan, Miami, Virginia Tech, Nebraska and most recently Arkansas. Approaching 30 offers, Akporoghene’s top suitor appears to be Oregon (the only 247Sports Crystal Ball pick on Akporoghene’s profile is in favor of the Ducks).

Akporoghene’s offer list looks much better than what his national ranking indicates (No. 1,137 overall nationally according to the 247Sports Composite). Akporoghene has yet to take any official visits.

The Texas offer was extended to Akporoghene on a day when the Longhorns were set to visit two of their top offensive line targets. Hand was in the Houston area on Wednesday and was scheduled to make a school stop to check on four-star Houston North Forest tackle Javonne Shepherd before making his way to the Conroe Oak Ridge spring game to check on five-star offensive tackle Tyler Johnson.

Along with Shepherd and Johnson, Texas remains in pursuit of Crandall’s Branson Bragg (the nation’s No. 3-ranked center according to the Composite). The Longhorns are also still actively recruiting five-star prospect Kenyon Green of Humble Atascocita, four-star tackles Stacey Wilkins (Camden, Ark./Fairview) and Jack Buford (St. Louis, Mo./Lutheran North) and Tampa (Fla.) Plant four-star guard William Putnam.

The 2018 cycle saw Texas sign five offensive linemen, four of whom were high school prospects. Tom Herman told Horns247 recently that all four of the prep signees — Junior Angilau, Rafiti Ghirmai, Christian Jones and Reese Moore — are expected to arrive on campus for summer workouts with the rest of the 2018 signees who have yet to enroll.

The Longhorns are currently set to lose four offensive linemen over the next two years, beginning with the departures of rising seniors Elijah Rodriguez and Patrick Vahe. Denzel Okafor and Zach Shackelford are entering their true junior seasons in 2018.
