  1. Powers on NaNa

The recruiting picture is starting to come together for four-star NaNa Osafo-Mensah, a 6-foot-4, 227-pound outside linebacker / defensive end from Fort Worth (Texas) Nolan Catholic.

"I have two official visits already planned," Oasfao-Mensah said. "I will be going to Notre Dame that April 14th weekend and then I will be going to UT on that May 5th weekend."

Oasfao-Mensah made an unofficial visit to Notre Dame for it's Junior Day event back in February and that really cemented the Fighting Irish on his list.

"I just love Notre Dame because of the culture and the tradition that they have up there," Osafo-Mensah said. "It is really cool to me and even my family really loved Notre Dame and everything like that. I just like what my family believes and what school they want me to go to is really important too."

What keeps the Longhorns towards the top of Osafo-Mensah's list?

"I really like UT because of the business program that they have down there and they will really provide a really good academic basis for me," Osafo-Mensah explained. "I really have a strong relationship with some of the players down there and even like Jordan Whittington, we have been talking about it and the UT movement and all of that good stuff."

Osafo-Mensah confirmed that he is still set to announce his final decision on May 19 at the Nolan Catholic spring football game.

There is a chance that he could work in other official visits before that date, but nothing is concrete.

"I will see if I can make one up to Michigan," Osafo-Mensah said.

Osafo-Mensah is rated as the No. 112 prospect nationally per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. He is the No. 6 WDE prospect overall and the No. 16 prospect in the state of Texas' 2019 recruiting class.

Osafo-Mensah plans to make an unofficial visit to Texas on March 31.

Perroni -- "A&M the first to offer OL Septs, who loved Aggieland"

Texas A&M played host to several top targets over the course of the weekend. One player that made it to campus was not technically a target at the time but left as one. Fort Bend Austin class of 2020 offensive guard Kendal Septs was in College Station on Saturday and, while there, the Aggies became the first to offer him.

"We went up to Texas A&M on Saturday," the 6-foot-3, 330-pound Septs said. "I went up there with my high school coach.

"Coach (Jim) Turner, the o-line coach, he called my coach. My coach gave me his number so I talked to him and he sent me the spring football schedule. We picked a day to go up there and I guess my coach told them we were coming up there that day."

Septs was offered while on the visit. The sophomore said it came as a bit of a surprise but he had a feeling there was a chance of it happening.

"I kind of thought something was up because they were asking me a lot of questions about myself when I talked to them before the trip," he said. "I've never talked to a college coach before but they still seemed to me like they were really interested."

The offer definitely made a big impression on the Greater Houston lineman.

"I was very excited, very excited," Septs said. "Especially after spending the entire day up there and seeing what the team was like and all the facilities and everything. That was my first to go to a campus as a recruit and it was amazing."

Septs also has enjoyed getting to know Turner.

"He was awesome," Septs said. "I like how he is always straight up with everyone. He tells you what it is and how it's going to be."

Texas A&M was also the first to offer Septs' high school teammate, class of 2020 wide receiver Troy Omeire. Since then, Omeire has seen several other offers come in and the same could happen for Septs as other schools take notice of the Aggies offering him.

"I get invites to camps but nothing really else at this point," Septs said. "My coach said that this is a big offer and, like with Troy, could open doors for other schools to offer but I'm not expecting anything."

my favorite reply on that thread ::

I like this kid a lot. Plays high in his stance and needs to reshape his body, but that's pretty typical of a HS Sophomore OL. Really light on his feet considering all of the bad weight he's carrying.

    Fantastic.

  3. 247 update from the Demariyon Houston weekend visit.

Texas hosted a handful of recruits this weekend, including Millwood (Okla.) wide receiver Demariyon Houston.

The four-star prospect took in the Longhorns’ spring practice and enjoyed his time on campus.

“It was a great visit,” Houston said. “My favorite parts were seeing the practice and just getting the experience of being a player at Texas.”

Houston added that he is building a strong relationship with the Texas staff, including wide receivers coach Drew Mehringer, who he watched closely at practice.

“My relationship with the Texas staff and Coach Mehringer is great,” Houston said. “They make me feel like I’m at home.”

While Texas landed Jordan Whittington a couple of weeks ago, the Longhorns are still looking for another slot receiver addition this cycle, and Houston seems like an ideal fit. The Longhorns really sold him on need and early playing time throughout the weekend.

One of the fastest rising prospects in the nation, Houston holds offers from Florida, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Texas, which put an offer on the table last month, and others.

So where exactly do the Longhorns stand after the visit?

“I’m very interested,” Houston said. “The thing that stands out about Texas is the fact the coaches care about you being a husband or a father more than a football player.”

Houston will look to make another visit to Texas down the line.

At 6-foot, 165 pounds, Houston is ranked as the No. 27 wide receiver in the country and No. 3 overall prospect in the state of Oklahoma, per 247Sports Composite.

As Texas A&M wrapped up its first week of spring practice on Saturday, the Aggies played host to several top recruits. One of those was Fort Worth Southwest wide receiver Nnamdi Adim-Madumere.

"It went really well," the 6-foot-3, 226-pound junior said on Saturday evening. "They definitely helped themselves today. I love it every time I'm there."

Adim-Madumere has previously been to practices at Texas Tech and TCU but this was the first time for him to do so in Aggieland."I liked how it was hands on and just the tempo of the practice and how everything was going along," he said. "I watched the receivers really closely. I liked how physical they were and how they were running their routes and the different concepts that they were running."

Adim-Madumere had a chance to spend time with receivers coach Dameyune Craig as well as head coach Jimbo Fisher.

"I talked to coach Craig a lot," he said. "We were in a meeting - I sat in on a meeting and listened to everything they were talking about. Then I talked to him afterward. He was talking to me about how he wanted me to be there and how I fit in with the schemes and everything. They want me to play outside.

"I also talked to coach Fisher as well and he was saying good things. It was basically the same thing, how he wanted me there."

Adim-Madumere says he didn't feel pressured to make a decision but that the coaches definitely let him know they would be okay if he did so.

"Yeah, they were messing with me about it," he said, laughing. "I'm not ready to make a commitment anywhere just yet."

The Aggies will get Adim-Madumere back on campus a couple more times in the near future.

"I'm supposed to be going back to A&M two more times during April," he said. "I think it's the 9th and the 14th, which is the spring game. They are just going to be unofficial visits."

Would love to know what their WR board looks like ...
