  1. I personally don’t find him credible, but he seems to have a following. Logic would say the chances of this guy knowing when no other leaks, corroborated reports or rumors are out there make it dubious. if helpful this was his last post:
  2. OB’s latest comments re NIL and recruiting: No. 3 - Stop with the NIL is crushing recruiting stuff...I can tell who does and does not read this column on a regular basis almost entirely by some of the reactions this weekend to the news that Texas is...wait for it...a bit sluggish in recruiting with elite prospects at the moment.SHOCKING!!!!!!Or not.One of the trendy talking points for those that will do anything to create talking points is to point the finger at the new boogieman of Texas football recruiting...NIL.Understand this - Texas' lack of momentum in the 2022 recruiting class didn't start on July 1. Almost eight months have passed since Texas landed Maalik Murphy in recruiting and the program hasn't landed a player in the Rivals Top 150 since. The reality is that it feels better to say that Kelvin Banks picked Oregon because of NIL as opposed to admitting that he might not believe in the vision and messaging of the program from the coaching staff. Or that he doesn't want to be alone in coming to Austin. It's just the newest form of excuse-making... the kind that Aggies have embarked on for much of the last 20-25 years before Jimbo Fisher was able to change the narrative.No. 4 - Let's go over the non-NIL problems...Instead of misplacing responsibility, let's take a look at the real issues facing the program as things currently stand in the 2022 class.1. As has been mentioned in this column countless times, elite of the elite prospects aren't giving this coaching staff the kind of first-year benefit of the doubt that Charlie Strong and Tom Herman both received.2. This staff can do better and finish better. Both the De'Anthony Gatson and Kelvin Banks recruitments featured miscalculations or misreadings. There's no reason to belabor the points again and again and again. The staff can be better.3. In the case of a few recruits around the state, there's a sense that there are briefcases full of cash in play. Of course, you know what the SEC calls recruitments that involve briefcases full of cash? They call it Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday...I don't know what to tell you about the third point, but the first two can be controlled and addressed with quality play on the field this season and the staff doing a better job.
  3. Not sure what you think my mindset is as I didn’t give it. Simply stated that it is strange to have Ou grouped in the non bag group on this board given the long history of cheating issues. I personally agree with you “in relative terms” from what I can tell. otherwise you are welcome to enlighten this board with your thoughts. either way go get fucked.
  4. To continue on the recruiting world is upside down path, we now have a broad swath of folks saying OU doesn’t cheat on a UT message board.
  5. At a minimum adding Baylor to the package. I guess the Basketball NC is a feather, but my god they seem toxic with their history and devout religious connections which typically run contrary to the politics of large state institutions of public education. Maybe I’m just biased, but I would consider them an anchor. unfortunately for tech (and really the rest/majority of the remaining 8 it’s going to be difficult to land in a power conference. Most likely they realize this and then add small markets to the 12 and take the buyout money.
  6. Puzzled by the Patton angst. The flags around this guy tell me he won’t be heard about again regardless of him being in Austin, Waco or Ann Arbor. what is way more worthy of discussion is my post above that basically outlines the total destruction of UT football in the coming months and years ahead. Well that or losing Patton.
  7. All this talk about aggy cheating is fine and dandy. The real issue as I understand it that payment to players is essentially legal now with NIL. Fine. bring it out in the open. Establish once on campus x type of player should see y amount of money. Presumably (I hope) we match or exceed what aggy bama or any other SEC team pays. I will say that out of the gate I am concerned that we may not take full advantage the new environment and continue to try to win with one hand tied behind our back. Seems like we are pretty much fucked with the 22 class. Maybe we get our ass in gear for 23. One thing seems clear though that payments will continue to kids not yet on campus, ie high-school recruits. Payments for visits. Payments for signatures. I have little doubt this is where Texas will continue to get beat up on the recruiting field. Will the 5 star or other top talented kids wait to get the money once they step on campus (at Texas) or will we continue to lose kids that can get the money early and then again when they step on campus ( at a school other than Texas?
  8. Appreciate the info. Helpful. Seems like there is more to it though as that update would not be anything that “couldn’t be shared now”, assuming maninblack knows something (which I think he does). Coupled with a CTJ post in the recruiting thread it seems there is.
  9. Will do. On another note, you don’t seem friendly.
  10. From OB Not the best update to start off on a Friday, but I'm hearing Trevell Johnson was back on the Texas Tech campus this week. That makes the third visit to Tech for Johnson in the past two months. Obviously, this one isn't trending particularly well for Texas and it's a situation we'll be monitoring very closely.I've tried to reach out to Trevell this week to see if he's coming to Austin for the pool party, but he's gone silent on me, which isn't the norm. Sometimes those small things can be signs as well.
  11. The Trevell Johnson news has not hit here yet? I am starting to believe our staff (coaching/support/administration wise) on the recruiting front has some fundamental problems that can’t be fixed. too much keeps happening to believe otherwise
  12. All fair criticism of the wheeled one, but on this day can we remember him for his roll (pun intended) in helping move Texas out of the 12 to SEC?
  13. If I have this correct, since the announcement on Wednesday of the move to SEC: decommitment of Jaylon Guilbeau Denver Harris and Perkins decide to skip Austin for college station pool party lose locked in silent commit 5 star keyonte in basketball to Baylor missing anything? why are our pets heads falling off?
  14. It’s pretty simple. Good news = they know what they are talking about. Bad news = they don’t know shit
  15. Doesn’t seem to made it in this thread yet but news breaking in multiple places that it is Baylor for Keyonte. very strange considering all that has transpired with months of confidence. A one and done person probably doesn’t care about conference affiliation, but as discussed Beards bag game should not be taking a back seat to Baylor.
  16. Lot of confidence in this thread re Anderson which I will gladly consume. But someone feel free to explain why Aggy keeps winning the last visit award. Pool party weekend - Texas followed by aggy; visit in the fall for a game - Texas opening game followed by subsequent game in college station (per obloods). Typically not a favorable data point.
  17. Something is off here. How is there not a 2000 word post on why Texas would never join the Sec because of some bizarre holier than thou rant that includes historical writings.
  18. Appreciate the comments. Money has to come from somewhere, though. Presumably from someone with a vested interest in Texas being successful. No way that these coaches just up and transfer bag dropping to any school they go to. as I write this my guess is you are talking shoe money which isn’t school specific and explains my above questions hopes of being good in football now squashed
  19. To pivot this discussion a bit, because we are in agreement that Beard is either continuing the rule bending of his predecessors or taking it to the next level, can we assume that this will be the model for football. I mean if we are truly stepping up , I have to think cdc is aware or at least signaling that he is ok being ignorant of it. If so, is this a test case for what we can and will do for the football program where it is sorely needed? Is football held on such a mantel that it is off limits for such actions? Is it a case of the proper alumni doing what they need to do in basketball but not football? thoughts welcome
  20. Popcorn gif. ready for comments after people read beard is cheating article from bitterwhiteguy.
  21. Forget where I picked it up - maybe an aggy site- but I thought Anderson is being sold on see the talent up front defensively which will make your job on the back end easier. Is it an easy sell on what aggy is bringing on the DL compared to Texas?
  22. Same here, although is my memory correct that he had confidence in Banks also?
