What, specifically, are you wondering about?

In general, losing OOS targets to Ohio State and OU, who both do whatever it takes, in a year they both should make the Playoff is hardly an indictment. Banks has a bunch of friends on TCU's roster.

Wondering if we really are playing the game or just not effective at it.

But as you pointed out there are reasonable explanations for our misses, thus the small sample size caveat.

And thank you Mr Bot for correcting my error. I am better for it.

  2. If, under this new staff, we are now playing “the game”, as many have eluded to, we seem to be unable to close on some of these transfers.  Makes you wonder. Maybe too small a sample size though.

  3. I will throw out the fiancé of mare’s ex husband. Jealous he was screwing the dead girl?

seemed strange when mare corrected the young cop so purposely not to rule out a female for the killer.

may not coincide with the moving of the body but may not be an issue when they gave the weight of the victim and noted a cover up of fake sex assault with clothes missing but no vaginal bruising

  4. That’s one of the most appealing aspects of Christianity / religion for many... being able to do whatever you want under the cloak of righteousness and then asking for forgiveness once you get caught. It’s really is a nice loophole.

this is the cloak room, correct?

I mean is it just me or do these practices look totally different than the ones we got to see under herman? This seems fucking explosive.

Yet I choose to believe you are correct because that’s what we do as fans that post on message boards in the middle of a work day.

It’s a fair question. Perroni has plagiarized me before. I’ve told a story for years on the net of Casey Hampton throwing our center at our qb in a game causing a sack and fumble. Perroni was a mod on the UT 247 board while I posted it once. Like 2-3 years later, he attempts to claim he witnessed the event when he was a fan and student at Clear Lake, a different school in our district. Exact story. I called him on it and he responded that Hampton must have done the same once in a century maneuver twice. Nevermind that he used some of the same lines that I’d used in the story.

So, he’s a fucking loser cunt with no spine and he’s a fanboy of my shit. I’m sure the Banks news has made him nervous, which is why he’s started hedging.

Fair is for a pig auction and a pie eating contest.

  7. At the risks of being negged for asking a non positive question during the surge in stud recruiting by Sark to kick off his first real class,  is anyone concerned about where we are with DL recruiting?

To my amateur eye it appears we are behind on the top guys with the exception of the DL from North Shore. Unexpected with Bo imo.  out of state push coming?

Someone want to rub my balls and make me feel better?

how about warranted "not being impressed by his resume"?

we gotsta get us some of what has worked so well for South Carolina and Tennessee!

Even if correct, why the hire and then un-hire clown show?  Coach and AD or AD and hire ups not on the same page, again

Can someone summarize the Drew Hughes saga over here, to save having to search for that needle in the haystack that the Recruiting threads are?

    Burton on Player Personnel Director

      Hide contents

Inside Texas has learned that Drew Hughes is no longer expected to become the director of player personnel for the Longhorns under coach Steve Sarkisian.

Hughes, previously the player personnel at South Carolina, was expected to take the Texas job before NCAA compliance at Texas did not clear him. Hughes was at Tennessee for a couple of years and the Volunteers are currently going through an exhaustive review process with the NCAA.

Arkansas had also shown some interest in Hughes but he is actually expected to land in the NFL.

While there will be many possibilities for Sarkisian to choose from, expect the solution to be a disciple of Ed Marynowitz. Marynowitz is considered the dean of college football player personnel departments, revolutionizing the position in college sports under Nick Saban. Marynowitz now works for CAA super agent Jimmy Sexton and ostensibly helps coaches fill out their personnel staffs.

Per many CDC nixed out of unwarranted fear.

  10. A fair amount of complaints about CDC in the 2022 recruiting thread kicked off by the non hire of Drew Hughes, better served here.

Without rehashing all of it, I do find it troubling that there are now 2 hires that sark has made and has had to undo. CDC seems to be central in both cases.

Fair is for a pig auction and a pie eating contest. Any other use of the word or its variances is meaningless. Del Conte squats to pee. That's it. Also, if a guy gets a show-cause, you fire him after making use of him and move on. The reason why Texas wouldn't is because Texas doesn't understand how it is currently perceived on the college sports landscape and naively thinks that that would be the reason why people would mock the program or judge it.

    That’s fair.

Or hear me out, he was not implicated or mentioned in the Tennessee stuff, is good at his job, and is going to the nfl because of that.

our administration has some weird holier than thou shit that is going to put us behind in the behind the scenes race

Not saying you are wrong but if true that is beyond baffling. Certainly doesn’t reconcile with previous hires like Casey Horny. I also recall the d line coach under Charlie that ultimately ended up with a show cause and had a stop here, if memory serves correctly.

CDC is doing nothing but taking input from pencil pushers in compliance and adhering to their fear-mongering. The NCAA doesn't enforce a motherfucking thing these days and the Hughes guy is precisely who Texas needs in order to establish an ability to "compete" with what is happening in College Station, Columbus, Athens, and across the rest of SEC/ACC country.

Blind support for an AD is not merited. This guy has done everything wrong since December of 2019 when he refused to dump Herman on his ass and hire Campbell. He got pushed around by Herman and the SJWs this summer, he embarrassed himself during the coaching search in the fall, stepped on his limpdick with the his flaccid vote of confidence, okayed on multiple occasions the hiring of Mike fucking Stoops and now he's blocking a key role from getting filled with a perfect candidate because he's yet again following a path of least resistance and letting pussies tell him how to think.

Fuck giving this guy the benefit of the doubt.

In fairness, if a show cause was going to be slapped on him not much could be done. May be why his next stop is nfl and not college

I would feel extremely conflicted if Texas takes Murphy this early, have to imagine that’s the death knell to the Ewers dream plus going out of state for a project as your first QB take is a big gamble (the upside is huge however)

My guess is that have a good feel on if Ewers flip is achievable. Based on the fact he/the family grew up burnt orange I assume they are going to shoot straight with Sark and not play games.  If Murphy wants in, Ewers will give Sark his answer. Better to know sooner, especially if you have high end talent ready to jump on board as an alternative.

Why, because he didn't get Urban back into the college game? Because he won't sign off on hiring a single support staff candidate?

Criticize him for the above if you want but there are many other aspects to his job and CDC has been performing very well (imo) in those. Football gamedays, for example, are infinitely more fun after CDC's pregame initiatives got implemented.

Granted, it sounds like boosters aren't too happy with him however I'm not sure the majority of that animosity isn't linked to my first sentence.

I would add the vote of confidence for Herman that was released that was at best mystifying. Weakest vote of confidence that required a follow up phone call clarification with reporters. Terrible optics no matter whose side you are on.

if rumors are believed, it was released against the recommendation of higher ups. Another example of ham handedness.

  16. For discussion...  any concerns on his defense emphasizing the lb position and what seems to be a dearth of high quality at the position year in and year out in Texas hs ranks?

is it overcome by UT getting the best every year despite the competition?  Having to go national at the position?  Trusting in a dc that is credited with taking quality yet lower ranked kids and developing them?

Maybe no concern if it is true that that under his scheme the true key are the standing defensive ends?

    *Rahssan Thornton.

And no, that's not what happened. Thornton sent in his signed LOI to LSU and then called Strong trying to join the Texas recruiting class. Strong didn't outright decline him, but said he couldn't take his commitment because he already formally signed with LSU.
