1. JJ Bowman single barrel, baby Saz and two Rare Breed Rye were my consolation prizes today. Hadn’t seen or thought about the Bowman in ages, mentioned it here and then it appears! Sure would be nice to see some 2020 GTS....

2. Daaaamn. What do you get for being his spiritual guide?

Peckerhead offered a Blanton’s for what he payed for it...$90. I’m gonna show up and drink straight from the WLW bottle and tell him it’s the tax for being an asshole. He did help me get my 2019 OFBB’s for my twins so I can’t be too upset, but I am upset.

3. 18 months ago my friend thought TX bourbon was the best evarrrrr!! Introduced him to ER and BT and the rest is history. Last night that toad sent me this pic. $1,013 total for everything in the pic. Bastard

4. one of the three won a gold medal in san francisco, but can't remember which one.

That would be the Old Elk blended in 2018 I believe. I would take that with a heavy grain of salt given those are the same people that dubbed Henry McKenna 10 the best whiskey in the world last year
5. Old Elk isn’t MGP, it was a blend of MGP and two other distilleries but as of this year it is believed that they switched over to their own distillate that they began working on in 2016. What is funny is that the MGP that Old Elk used in their blend was distilled by an MGP master distiller who they promptly poached in 2016 to be their head distiller.
I’ve had the blend and the cask strength and the blend was very weak in all aspects. Cask strength was much more palatable but unless they bring the price down to around $40 I’m out on another bottle.

I’ve not heard many good things about Traverse City and can honestly say I’ve never heard of Sweetheart Rodeo.

6. One time in college we made boilermakers with keystone light and Bellows. That was the night Bobby Nall gave me a swig of his WT101 and I looked at the bottle after taking a swig and saw his snuff grinds floating in the bottom of the bottle.

7. Yeah, I've heard the John is the best of the Bowmans. It's on my radar but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I remember a couple years ago on the bsm pages Bowman had a cocoa finished offering that had everyone in an absolute tizzy trying to find it. Never seen it or even know anyone that has had it but I’m very interested m.
8. I had a beautiful 10 in my sights about five years ago at the exact time of day you’re talking about. Bang! He took off and I knew my gun was on but he didn’t act like he was hit. I searched but not a crazy in-depth one. Gave up after twenty minutes of not finding even a drop of blood and chalked it up to a flat out miss. 6-8 months later I found him no more than 10 yards further from where I stopped searching. Don’t be like me, be thorough and hopefully you find him.

9. I paid $225 for a 2017 and it made me feel very dirty. Every other one I’ve bought was $109 or $119. Even though $400 is well under the current secondary rate, no way I could stomach that. Makes me sick to see the toads standing in line at TW at 8am waiting to see what they can find to flip for maxxxxx profitzz. I fantasize about going to Kroger and buying some rotten cabbage, then driving by and clobbering aforementioned toads with said rotten vegetation. Fuckers.

10. I have officially been relegated to the cheap seats. My mom and pop that always called me first whenever he got anything decent sold to some middle eastern folk that have now put Eagle Rare on “sale” for the cheap price of $99. My connection at TW that moved all the way up to store manager has had his hands tied by corporate when it comes to allocations so now that’s toast. Woe is me. Just turn me out to pasture, my best days are far behind me

11. Sure, I'll review several hundred products the instant they're released.
BigDHornfan come get your man.

No, you won’t review shit. You’ll come here to tell us what Minnick said, or what whiskey wash said. What you absolutely will not do is form your own opinion.
12. Different batches/releases. A indicates the first release of the year. The las two digits indicate the year.
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof has three releases every year: A, B, & C.
Some enthusiasts will nerd out, and claims certain batches are vastly superior to others and chase them. These are probably the same people chasing Blanton's dump dates.
Spoiler : Every ECBP release is pretty good. It's barrel proof, 12 year old Elijah Craig.

Probably also the same people that regurgitate online reviews for every product there is while never actually sharing a genuine thought of their own.

13. Barrell Dovetail was one of the nastiest things I’ve ever put in my mouth. Tried a few other offerings and firmly decided to never even look at a bottle from them ever again.

Never got the WP hype either. Went to Turtle Creek Mansion a few years ago and had some Boss Hogg and was very unimpressed.
