Yes, life was hard in 1923, people treated others like shit, hubris will get you killed, and people do stupid shit. I am pretty sure that has been going on since there have been people on this earth and will continue forward so I have no clue why the hell Sheridan feels the need to hammer those nails about 10 times and episode.
Sad thing is this series, much like "first" part of the story could have been so much better and instead he falls back on this tired shit. Consider that he has now left Rainwater out in the middle of the fucking prairie with no clue where she is, no clue where to find food or water, no money, her dad and her first love dead and we know she somehow survives because decades later we have Thomas Rainwater. So, do you waste more time in your finale explaining how the fuck she survives, does she miraculously cross paths with the female marshal, navigates home, or do we just never really tie off that thread?
Why do we need to get reminded no good deal mixed with hubris and fueled with alcohol go unpunished and do we really need to be reminded how unreliable cars and roads were in 1923 during the best of times let alone in a blizzard?
Seriously Rip and Beth get their fucking ranch with foster kid and you can't have Rainwater and her love survive on the plain or Alex and the two Britts wait out the storm in Buffalo or take the train? Sheridan has gone full Shondra Rhymes with this shit.
Banner is going to turn on Whitfield, you can see it in how he responded when Whitfield make the comment about the girl's mother and Banner realizes that the same pieces of shit who made his life miserable back home are present in the States even if he has a nicer home and better clothes/food for his family. Besides, somehow the Dutton's have to find out about the location of the train station unless everyone has been dumping bodies there for over a century which if the case would draw every damn scavenger in the Rockies.
