You got better as the pod went on, ill chalk it up to denial for now. The start was definitely pro herman, I think the rational part of your brain caught on by the end. Especially when you were talking about ALL the mental mistakes and him coaching his guys

I split the show into potentially valid reason for the rough start/to have hope still and inexcusable issues over 4 years.

    Christ.

This argument would make some sense if the 2020 team wasn't screwing up in the exact same ways as the 2019 team. Or the 2018 team. Or the 2017 team.

Too many penalties. Terrible special teams play. Turtling tendencies. Bad strategic decision-making. These are not unique to 2020. These are hallmarks of bad coaching. Period.

Oh yeah. I brought this up in the show as well. I wasn't carrying water. Just a solo cup of G2 vodka.

listened to @OnAComputer carry water for Tom on his podcast this morning.. But luckily his bu guest called it like he seen it.  Tom hasn't shown he can win with his own kids.

I was just saying, I am 1.) in denial 2.) not done with the season 3.) empathize with some of the fact that some things were out of his control this year like trying to install an entirely new defense and a new offense getting derailed by covid.

However, I thought I also had some scathing remarks in there as well, like his inability to win with his players, his inflexibility, his team's lack of discipline, and (I thought about another one while driving today) his inability to make half time adjustments.

All that said, I'm just not ready to give up yet. I'm clinging to whatever hope is out there.

Olin Buchanan is a joke. I hope TexAgs doesn't fire him over this because he is a constant source of making them look incredibly stupid.

Imagine having a tweet so bad that TexAgs tells you to take it down.

Do you believe we didn't get Jaylen Waddle because we went after Justin Watkins? Seriously?

I think they have a much better shot if they focus on him immediately instead of going after Watkins initially. That seemed to be the general consensus around that time if I remember correctly.

I think we're all intimately familiar with Texas' misses on Texas talent.

Have you ever seen Mike Farrell comment on the fact that blOU misses on the top guy in Oklahoma every year?

Have you ever seen Mike Farrell bag on aggy for sticking a flag in New Jersey and missing on all of the above? Or, does he call them the flagship now that they're in the $EC$EC?

Have you ever seen Mike Farrell miss an opportunity to shit on Texas?

TFB certainly takes every opportunity to push blOU as well, but Farrell is actively asking you to hold his beer and I think we have a right to be Surly about it.

I'm not saying he's not a douche and I don't really follow him. So I don't really know about his biases.

Also it's funny you bring up TFB being too pr-OU because the OU side also thinks TFB is too friendly towards Texas. Calls those guys traitors.

    I certainly don't like OU.

    Texas losses

    He's not wrong though.

Texas probably should have gotten Ceedee Lamb (if they gave him the time of day), Jaylen Waddle (if they don't go after Justin Watkins), Kenneth Murray (see Lamb), and Garrett Wilson (learned how to do their own scouting).

Wease, Okudah, and Wilson weren't gonna go to Texas.

Browning, Little, and Chaisson were legit losses where Texas could maybe have done more, but not much.

Another guy that hasn't been mentioned a ton at A&M is Jalen Preston. Dude was a beast at Manvel in 2018. He'll be a RS Soph this year. I'm interested to see if he hasn't seen much time due to being behind Davis and Ausborn or because he hasn't translated.

I mean he's the same year as Eagles, Moore, and Woodard.

Eagles and Moore were behind Johnson, LJH, and Duvernay, and even Woodard has had more production than Preston.

Totally understandable given Lakeview Centennial's remote location and lack of other high-major prospects.

(I wouldn't usually be this bitchy, but the 9.95ers, and especially IT, acting like this is all some mystical oversight when even schools that offer EVERYBODY like Tennessee and Virginia Tech haven't bothered is really annoying - @OnAComputer do you have a good reason for his lack of offers?)

I honestly don’t know why he doesn’t get offers. Everybody who I show his film to (full game film not highlights) is pretty blown away. I haven’t asked, but I’m guessing that they want to see him in person or something because even though he’s from the same school as Wheaton they may have not looked at him while there.

It has to be something beyond his film.

myslinski is a fine take.  he’s an overachieving, underestimated, smart, mean player who will be a 6’3” 290# bully in three years and anchor the OL.  he’s not one to worry about.

You could take Myslinski and still take Ezra Oyetade. Oyetade is a guy they should have offered yesterday.

I had not noticed how soft Kellner and Cook are. JFC, @OnAComputer is an Eanes-Private school special project that these guys make sound like an alpha. Dunn is the only public figure that I've heard question and call out the obvious. They won't acknowledge Jackson's mom carrying a fucking buckeye in her purse, Foster's mom and brother being active memebers of Texags, Blake not trusting Herman and yes, all of Tom's fuckups. But they all have to talk like giant pussies.
