  1. Tulane is a bogus response as well. Who doesn't love NOLA but that's not a college town. Def should be LSU.
  2. I see Urban doing "well" this year. As in slightly above .500 because the division sucks and offense should be talented. I think he's out of the league one way or another in 4 years tops. Heart issues or losing issues, either way.
  3. Seems like the best outcome for all parties involved. . I think us as fan expect every guy to hit, but there is something to be said about highly recruited guys who fail but don't become locker room problems. Good on the staff for being blunt, good on Epps for not being bitter, and hopefully he kills it in LA If he doesn't, a free Bachelors from UT, free masters from USC, and some good alumni networking certainly isn't a bad way to live.
  4. They took like 12 guys in there 2020 recruiting class. This year was much improved but that plus normal attrition make me think that their depth is just atrocious. Orlando is there now so that's the easy bridge to our guys.
  5. Overshown seems like a day 2 unless he can get to 235lbs and not lose speed.
  6. Packers were given 30 years of Farve and Rodgers, of which they got 2 superbowls. Fairly pathetic tbh.
  7. Pitt, as long as they invest in some OL, is just a great fit for him too.
  8. Only us and Oklahoma recruit well enough in to the point that there should be consistent firsts. So with us screwing up player development like clockwork and Oklahoma being young/only producing NFL caliber players at a handful of positions, that's what you get.
  9. Just seeing seething ND fans would make it a worthwhile investment.
  10. Sam "Taysom Hill Jr" Ehlinger? Lol. Probably not fast enough.
  11. @Richard Kimball Nah no Stanford Cardinal here. Just like birds and can't think of usernames. Hook Em. Don't disagree. My two cents is that's a fair point for sure and more football is always better. the bowl system is dead. I think that Oklahoma v. Florida sideshow was the ultimate proof of that. Think even Mullen said he didn't care. I do think the American produces a P5 competing champion like clockwork and MWC does every once and while. However, most years I struggle to see how your sun belt, conference usa, MAC winners are going to even compete with the 2nd or 3rd, maybe even 4th best team in the major conferences. I struggle to see why they would deserve an autobid that would likely leave out some P5 runner ups that would most likely lap them on the field. Which brings me too... @Huckleberry Totally agree. I personally favor 12 teams, no autobids. I think splitting G5 and P5 away kinda makes sense, but only if you keep the American +Boise +BYU (maybe another team or two) with the P5. PAC is I think actually clearly worse than the American right now in talented teams.
  12. I think football is too top heavy. Only the power 5 and American actually have talented enough teams for a tourney style consistently. Seeing #1 Alabama curb stomp the sunbelt flavor of the month seems pretty pointless. Definitely don't think that justifies legions of potential player injuries with a longer season just to try to copy the basketball tourney.
  13. Any team consistently in the top 25 is running a dirty program, probably hell even top 40. Every Alabama player shows up with a magically "leased" Dodge Charger/Challenger year in and year out. The only difference is some of them get a little ridiculous like Ole Miss with Freeze or Miami with Nevin Shapiro.
  14. Feel the fit and need meshs really well with the Ravens. Think he might go there with one of their first, maybe he'll make up for Sergio Kindle.
  15. I think Ebron and Hockenson are closish in hype but I agree there is even more for Pitts.
  16. Disagree. Get Wilson didn't play the best competition but his release is just picturesque. I've seen very few QBs that look as natural just throwing a football as him.
  17. Namath was the generation before's Eli. Pretty darn good, not elite but wove his way so that you can't tell the story of football without him. The whole dynamics of superbowl 3 is kinda crazy. That Colts team is probably considered to be among the 4-5 best of all time if they just won that game. They were just clobbering people all season. Namath came in and guaranteed a victory, in a time where the AFL was seen as a joke. I don't think the impact of that game alone can be underscored.
  18. Take this with a grain of salt if you will, but two of my very close friends went to U of A recently, and they basically said freshman year Jones was probably the biggest drunk on campus. Seems to have reformed a bit since but they believed if it he weren't a U of A football player he would likely have upward of 3-5 DUIS at least.
