  1. That’s why you keep him, but you do not EXTEND him until the end of regular season 4 (assuming he produces enough wins to warrant extending in Season 4).
  2. 2 losses isn’t necessarily “making the playoffs”.
  3. Agree, it’s a horse of a COMPLETELY different breed. Mack-couldn’t win the “big game”. Sark-almost 50/50 that he will lose ANY game.
  4. By that point, Mack Brown already had TEN seasons with 9 or more wins (back when the seasons where shorter) including 6 at Texas and FIVE seasons with 10 or more wins including 3 at Texas. That’s a horse of a totally different breed than what we are discussing here.
  5. You quoted me directly and then made some statements. Now you’re shocked that I would think they’re directed at me and what I said on Page 1?
  6. I’m not backpedaling at all. I just recognize that you won’t admit it. Here’s a screenshot for you to enjoy. Let’s make it 2
  7. Fair enough, and in none of my posts on “page one” (the only ones I can control) did I call Sarkisian “trash”. I didn’t move the goalposts. I’m responding to your false claims that this thread was started by me pitching a tantrum and calling Sark “trash”.
  8. I directed you to the OP. You implied that my OP called Sark “trash”. You can try to claim otherwise, but we both know it’s false. You can try to dig yourself out by lying more, but we all know that only makes you look more foolish. ETA: I believe the exact word I used was “middlin”. Be a lot cooler if Sark proves me wrong.
  9. Pointing to a head coach’s mediocre record and calling it a mediocre record produced by a mediocre head coach isn’t an opinion. It’s pointing out a fact. It is illuminating that you have to lie about what I said in order to try to paint my OP as pitching a tantrum.
  10. Calmly pointing out facts is a tantrum? ETA: Those posters cursing me out and negging me (in a lame attempt to start a fatwa and get me banned) were pitching a tantrum.
  11. You should go back to page one and read what this thread is about.
  12. Why? We already have a mediocre coach here. we should strive for greatness, not mediocrity.
  13. Just because we think this coach incapable of success doesn’t mean we WANT this coach to fail. It isn’t even a subtle distinction, it’s a HUGE distinction, and you’re here repeating your “YOU JUST WANT TEXAS TO LOSE SO YOU CAN BE RIGHT” mantra ad infinitum. Just because Thatguy repeats something over and over doesn’t make it correct.
  14. An 8 win season at Cal Berkley? That’s harder than an 8 win season at Washington.
  15. Squeeze harder for Old Army or you’re no 2%-er.
  16. “He” didn’t schedule anyone. “He” coached his teams to success in multiple seasons.
  17. I picked the number 8 at random, but we can do 9, or 10. Sark 9 win seasons. 1. Dykes. 3 Sark 10 win seasons. 0 Dykes. 2
  18. Steve Sarkisian has won 8 games or more 2 times in 8 seasons. (1:4) (I’m eliminating Sark’s drunken season at USC) 2013 Washington 2014 USC Sonny Dykes has won 8 games or more 6 times in 12 seasons (1:2) (I’m eliminating Sonny’s 1 game season at SMU) 2011 Louisiana Tech 2012 Louisiana Tech 2015 Cal Berkley 2019 SMU 2022 TCU Sonny Dykes fucking sucks, but he has roughly twice as good a track record for producing successful seasons than Sarkisian.
  19. Thank you. I typed out 4-5 of those, and quit
  20. You did when you interjected Saban into the discussion. Saban’s time at Michigan State is not analogous to Sark’s career. At all.
  21. It doesn’t matter, Sarkisian IS NOT Saban and never had the sort of coaching success that Saban already had by now at smaller weaker programs. Quit trying to compare the two.
  22. Are we back to the idiotic “BUT NICK SABAN” bullshit? because if you’re using a sample size of ONE out of thousands of collegiate HCs to try to prop up your argument, you’re making a singularly, spectacularly, utterly inane argument.
