Oh goddamnit. This is just like on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares where Ramsay tells the head chef that the food is shit, the person retorts with some insipid remark to the effect of "we get compliments from the customers." As Gordon would fire back, "the fucking dining room is empty!"

And 2016-2017 was even worse than 2015. In fact, 2017 barely stayed over the 2.0 mark (2.17 to be exact). With no other real competition, what I said earlier is accurate: this present period marks the lowest point in pro wrestling's history in terms of total TV viewership and ticket sales. They've botched every single opportunity they've had, and you're coming at me with the opinions of the very limited few people who still give a shit about this business.

The people you're referring to are those who have a tendency to approve whatever product they're presented, which is why WWE gets away with (when it comes to those viewers) some of the dumbest angles in the history of wrestling.

The ratings just goes to show how completely badass the attitude era was. Taker in his prime, Stone cold in his prime, Rock in his prime, DX, Shawn Michaels in his prime, Brett Hart, Hardees/Edge Christian/ Dudleys, Vince and Shane doing matches, Mankind, Kane. It was just an insane top of the roster.

OUs linebacking recruiting has been a shitshow. Are you saying OU won’t close on at the oline position. OU has done well at OL for the last three years and I bet that continues.

Not now that they lost their manimal S&C coach to the only coach in the SEC with a national championship ring from the ACC! WHOOP!

But don’t tell aggy. We know their 9.95ers won’t.  Hype machine already heating up.

I can't wait until the "aggy knocked it out of the park, rolled out the red carpet, so and so was working on him all weekend, he was wowed by the facilities, Jimbo, turdition, squarely in the mix" article.

I'd be worried that if mack steps outside of his boundaries (more than likely imo) and CDC has to put his foot down, mack will resort to his petulant behavior and cause more problems for the program.

I think as long as everyone is warm and fuzzy about him being there and they keep pointing to all of his accomplishments he will be a great asset. When he gets challenged or hits a rough patch he turns into a gaping vageena.

Doesn't matter. Lightning works against the run, too, if you do it right.  The old rules are not the rules Orlando follows.

I don't know what to think about facing Canada's offense in the first game. On one hand, he did jack shit with LSU athletes on offense and will have a big step down with Maryland athletes. On the other hand, all of that motion and jetsweep stuff won't really be fun in the first game with no film.

    My stab:

    • QB: Ehlinger
    • RB: Young    +Carter
    • OL: Anderson, Vahe, Kerstetter, Grandy, Okafor
    • WR: Johnson, LJH, Heard   + Duvernay
    • TE: Beck   + Leitao
    • DL: Hager, Graham, Charles O   + Nelson
    • LB: Roach, Johnson   + Shark
    • DB: Davis, Boyd, Thompson, Locke, Jones   + Foster
  6. Pretty sure Brock will drop the title to Reigns in the UAE. It will be in a steel cage, so should be pretty funny to see Lesnar throw him around for another 20 minutes.

Rousey was great, AJ/Nakumura was really good, Rollins/Balor/Miz was great, Charlotte/Asuka was great. The rest was a big step down, although I did find it funny that Stroman pulled a 10 year old out of the crowd for a tag team championship match.

The Raw after wrestlemania is my favorite show of the year. So much craziness and the crowd is like they are at a soccer game.

    Highlights:

Jeff Hardy is back, but looked rusty as hell and botched a swanton bomb and it was kind of hilarious.

Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt are now a tag team and I am really looking forward to that.

Bobby Lashley is back in the WWE. I hope they don't mid card him like they have done with Balor/Nakamura/Gallows/Anderson.  Side note: EC3 is in NXT now.

They pulled up Ember Moon, AOP, and No Way Jose to the roster. Jose SUUUUUUUUCKED. Ember was pretty badass, I could see her and Asukah having some awesome matches.

Page retired due to neck injury

Reigns came out and looked like he was in a car crash, had a softball sized knot on his head and could barely walk, came out and started whining. Samoa Joe came back and punked him for whining...Again.

It's hard to knock any of the defensive guys on the field. Hopefully we won't have to figure out anytime soon if they are actually plus technical coaches or if Orlando is the true ace. Beck screwed the offensive guys, but there we so many pieces moving in the wrong direction, like the maddening personnel decisions and effort issues, that it is hard to give any of the O coaches a pass for the on-the-field product.

That said, if the D is as good as last year's and we have no Maryland let-down, a slightly above average offense should improve on our win total easily and could have us fighting for the conference. Beck has earned his criticism, but remember he lost only 3 games while at OSU, the same number that Herman lost in the 2 years prior. If the talent is just good enough to cover up for unimaginative playcalling, we could and should win a lot of games next season.

This is where I am at. Better kicking and moderately improved offense would have won us a minimum of 3 more games last year. Now we get practically the whole league next year turning over the QB position. Things are set up nicely next season for a big improvement if we simply meet expectations.

    Murray is draft eligible.

The MLB Draft is June 4th-6th. Regardless, Riley will have plenty of time to figure it out.

I doubt Kyler bolts unless he is a high draft pick. He probably makes more as OUs QB than what he would in the minors without a big signing bonis.

    TFB scrimmage notes:

    * Not surprisingly, was told Casey Thompson looks good in the read option. Was told Rising showed off a massive arm but missed some targets due to overthrows. Was told Rising threw an INT over the middle to Caden Sterns.

    * Was told Young had a big (50 yard) play in the scrimmage. Also told that Carter caught a TD pass out of backfield.

I knew it.. Burton is ghost writing for TFB.

    IT team notes

    From: Eric Nahlin

    TEAM

To add to the Saturday scrimmage notes we gathered some information the offensive line. Much of it turned into people raving about the defensive line.

    Here's the scoop:

As a unit they played well in the two-minute drill for three drives. Most of the day, however, Breckyn Hager, Charles Omenihu, and TaQuon Graham gave them fits. There were about seven holding penalties due to consistent pressure.

Again, we don't know where to separate what is very active d-line play and poor o-line play. Hager was a beast off the edge and we know what kind of camp Omenihu has been having. On Hager, he seems much more comfortable, likely because he's done bouncing around from role to role.

Shack struggled with Graham for most of the day, though he did show fight -- almost literally after one play.

Cosmi played strong on second team and impressed one bystander with his initial punch. Physically he's ready. Still ironing out the technical side.

The o-line did open up some running lanes a few times but the defense had way too many tackles for loss (8-9). On one big play, Danny Young went for 80 yards after hitting a cutback against first team defense.

Coach Hand was the loudest coach in the stadium -- which usually isn't the greatest sign -- but the offense did make some plays.

It's still far too early to think this line will look anything like it did last year. Said a bystander, "I think the biggest thing is more reps together will help with consistency especially when it comes to who has who on blitz pick up and who is climbing to the second level and who is staying on the d-lineman."

I talked to another source and started off with, "I heard the scrimmage was very physical." The response, "these aren't as physical as Tuesday and Thursday practice where they line up the whole team for inside hull. With the whole team watching the intensity is amped through the roof. Scrimmages are seen as a break and they look forward to them." This aligns exactly with what I heard about Herman's team jumping out of the gates and beating up OU to start the 2016 season.

On PJ Locke, I hear he's day-to-day. The injury hasn't been disclosed to anyone I've talked to but day-to-day is great. What happened: Collin Johnson comes across on a drag, he's hit from behind by a charging BJ Foster, PJ is coming from the other way and then is met by both Johnson's and Foster's momentum. Scary stuff but it sounds like PJ will be just fine.

Here's a quote you'll like, "The second team defense has some real talent out there. Cook, Boyce, Foster, Sterns, Delly, Bimage, Graham...these guys get a lot of practice reps and they'll see the field a ton." The staff clearly sees how much it will need these guys in 2019.

Interesting. I am not sure this line will see defensive lineman the caliber of ours across the board from too many teams on the schedule. My hope is that Orlando dialed it up a bit more in the scrimmage and all the TFL's were not against base looks.

Is there any indication that Kyler "Garden Gnome" Murray will be a serviceable QB?

He was pretty good in last year's spring game, and his stat line last year in game was 18-21 for 359 yds and 3 TDs/0 INT.

That doesn't mean much until teams get an opportunity to game plan for him, but he could present some issues. Our length on defense will probably bother him, but GJ vs Murray in the open field should be fun.

Every year it seems like there is one position that gets completely decimated. Last year it was RB with early enrollee Carter the only once available for the spring game. I guess this year it’s LB.

This year it's RB as well. 5 on the injury report right now.

I know it’s a foregone conclusion Young is down on the coaches board but I certainly hope Naivar lands the OOS dbs he’s gunning for bc if not the in state recruiting could get ugly if he has to try and swoop in last minute for some of these guys. Young is elite and should be a priority IMO

Ya, its too bad we don’t have a historically good db class htting campus this fall.

Spring practice notes are so dumb. I'll pay more attention in the fall when we have Anderson on the OL and Ingram here. I take no stock in anything that happens in the spring.

I think spring is important to get a baseline for the team. If the defense was coming out and curb stomping the offense every day like they did last year, I would say we may be in for another long season. From the sound of it, the offense has gotten it’s share which is encouraging. The pieces we get in the fall shouldn’t dictate the season, but in the case of Oline, Anderson and Hudson will add legit help.
