It can’t be worse than suddenlink. Last fall my cable kept freezing. I did the normal reboot for s few days and that didn’t fix it. It was happening at the in-laws a couple blocks over as well. I call and the automated service said there is a known problem with your internet, is that why you’re calling? “No”. Ok then. Why are you calling? Cable. “Ok. Due to high call volume would you like to remain on the line or have someone call you back? To remain on the line press 1. To leave a number and have someone call you back press 2.” Hit 1 “goodbye”

Called back. Same deal. Hit 2. “Goodbye”

I was so pissed I must have done that 5 times thinking something would be different.

Finally I went to the website and fired off a pissed off email. Got some bullshit reply 2 days later to call a number. I called and some girl answered. I explained the situation and the email. She had no clue what I was talking about. Looked at my account. Nothing. I told her “fine, I’ll just continue to be a very unhappy customer”
    her response “ok! Bye!”

Image result for blazing saddles what did you expect

So this morning my cable and internet services are down (Comcast/Xfinity/the devil), so I go to work and report this and I'm on a chat with Raja from customer service. I'm told they have run diagnostics and checked their service log and there are no service interruptions in my area.
My reply is that this is why I am reporting that I have no service, now there is a report. And I inform them the my neighbors (at least the 3 that I saw this morning) also have no service, including the neighbor 4 houses down the block who had a tree struck by lightning last night - which I tell customer service that I'm told that can cause some issues, or so I've been told.
The want me to turn my router and cable boxes off/on to restart them, which I did this morning and nothing was rebooted and that now that I'm at work I can't really do that.
Seems like it might take awhile to get a real person out to look at the problem.

tl:dr - customer service, with people reading from a script, from half-way around the globe sucks.

(sorry if this should be in lulz - or already is in there - but that board is blocked by the work firewall)

Yes, Mr. Wally.  OK, sir, Mr. Wally.  OK, Mr. Wally.  Now, Mr. Wally, can you unplug your box, Mr. Wally?  Thank you, Mr. Wally.  Now, Mr. Wally, can I get the last 4 of your social, Mr. Wally?  Mr. Wally, now I need you to wait 10 seconds Mr. Wally and then plug you box back in, Mr. Wally.  Mr. Wally do you have a signal yet, Mr. Wally?

  3. Using the phrase “piece of shit” to describe someone; especially a person with whom you dislike or disagree.  This is rampant in the CR.

Nothing screams internet tough guy / anonymous coward more than using POS. It is really repugnant.

Growing up my parents would have bacon wrapped filet's for special occasions and they would serve us kids bacon wrapped hamburgers.  When we finally got old enough to ask "Why mine not look like yours?"   they held out for another couple of years before we got the upgrade.

Ha. In their late 40’s, my ma and her twin sister were told by their ma that all those times they were eating liver “because it’s good for you,” their mom was having a nice ribeye because she hated liver.   Parents can be crafty.

  5. If you want simple, double paned, vinyl frame low-e, call Randy Els (no relation to Ernie) at Window World.

Or, and if you have a friend that works for BMC or a similar distributor that sells windows, that friend could sell you the windows direct.  You’d pay up front due to no account but you could get a decent deal.  If you have such a friends, ask him to hook you up with an installer crew; not the contractor.

Install should be around $100-125 per window inclusive of demo, install, caulk in and out, clean up and debris removal.   Your mileage may vary.

Also, spend the money on the mullions that go on the outside glass and inside glass.  The mullions that go between the glass are cheesy.

For aftermarket solar, yeah.  For new construction with solar part of the design, I'd think that broken tiles will be minimized.  I would expect that the panels will be installed at the same time as the tile.

And there's not much maintenance required for the panels.

The answer is just install standing seam on the roof facets where solar is scheduled and complete the balance in tile or shingles or whatever.   Solar flashing kits work much better when mounted to standing seam ribs.

I'm 43, and right around 40 I realized that I just can't go "heavy" (for me, that was 4-5 reps to failure) any more.  I've gotten biceps tendonitis a couple times, but nothing that keeps me sidelined for too long.  My shoulders and joints can't take the stress like they used to, and I'm not trying to win a lifting competition.  Now I go for about 10-12 reps, focusing on form, with a minute between sets, which really gets the heart rate up.  I still build and maintain pretty good muscle mass, and look and feel better than I have since my early 30s.  Your mom has noticed the results.

Your ma felt my muscle mass inside her last night

  8. I lost 20 lbs. last summer.  Cut down (not quit) carbs, watch sugar intake, smaller portions and semi regular exercise. Walk 3x at 35-40 minutes, walk 2x at 60 minutes.  Push-ups, air squats, simple ab routine.  I'm 54.

Harvey hit  and the routine went away and I'm back where I started.  Now the routine started again last week.  Down some already.

Not being a lazy pig seems to work for me.  Plus, I'm afeart of "fad" diets.
