  1. Banks needs to step up. I don't love our TE depth and our special teams were not good last year.
  2. Having an illegal weapon does not mean you cannot claim self defense. Plenty of concealed carry holders carrying in a prohibited place or unlicensed holders (pre constitutional carry) used their guns in self defense. Self defense is still available. You can be prosecuted for illegally carrying. My understanding is that if a knife blade is under 5.5", it is not illegal to carry on school grounds or premises. Over 5.5" blade is a felony. At least for an adult. Perhaps there is a different rule for minors. Now, they can argue him bringing a weapon with him is circumstantial evidence of premeditation.
  3. Makes sense. My priorities would be TE, kicker, interior OL, and DT.
  4. We need to be looking for a kicker also.
  5. Had no idea he was one of the rapists in A Time to Kill
  6. Pretty important pickup.
  7. If that affidavit is true, he's going to prison for a bit.
  8. TMZ says he hung himself. That is very sad. https://www.tmz.com/2025/04/14/dazed-and-confused-actor-nicky-katt-suicide-hanging/
  9. That rule falls apart about 3 weeks after the first player challenges it in court.
  10. He played really well down the stretch. In his last three games he had 26 catches, 332 yards, and 6 TDs. And Stanford had abysmal QB play
  11. We thinking upside of roster is a tourney team that can win a game or two next year?
  12. He was. Had like 7 sacks as a part time player as a true soph. He was going to be a Von Miller like terror off the edge. IIRC, he just quit playing over a girl breaking up with him.
  13. I spent my freshman and sophomore years in the Valley. This was early 90s. I always had my 20 gauge and a case of shells in my trunk during dove season. Hunted every day back then when school let out. I was not the only one. 30 years was the sentence.
  14. It is extremely uncommon for murderers to get out the first time they are eligible for parole. In Texas for murders, you have to serve half your sentence before becoming eligible for parole. You are assuming they will get out when they become eligible for parole. That would be unusual in this state for a murder conviction.
  15. I tend to agree. But if someone does another violent crime after a long stretch I’m pretty okay with locking them up and tossing the key. I’d also reserve prisons for violent crimes in most cases. I’d rather give those accused of property crimes an option of working and paying reasonable restitution
  16. I don’t think a 16 year old getting 30 years on a plea deal is easy. Not saying it’s draconian. But assuming first offense it’s a pretty reasonable plea deal for a 16 year old getting murder 1. Sentencing range is 5 to 99 for first degree murder in Texas. They took a deal to get lower range. And Texas isn’t exactly parol friendly. Bet they do 75 percent of the sentence.
  17. Even taking his version of events, he is pretty much guilty of murder. Nothing suggests using lethal force was justified.
  18. Not sure how good a filet knife would be at stabbing someone in the chest. I was just curious if he was carrying a pocket knife or the Jackhawk 9000.
  19. Have not seen any reports one what type of knife he was carrying. Was it a pocket knife with a 3" blade that a lot of Texans carry routinely? Or a fixed blade 6" knife that you would only carry to stab someone?
  20. They pled out. If he pleads guilty, he is probably looking at a similar sentence.
  21. Arch will be the best QB in the SEC this year. Sellers is his best competition.
  22. I love comeback/redemption stories. Would love to see him succeed at another program. He's young and did dumb stuff. I'd like to see him do less dumb stuff and become a productive member of society.
