  1. This won't be self defense. Won't even be close to it.
  2. People positing on topic news and video in the news thread. So terrible.
  3. https://www.fox26houston.com/news/houston-attorney-killed-intervening-in-mcdonalds-dispute.amp
  4. That's a family tradition. Bob McNair was a prince of a human who was very, very charitable. Much of it under the radar.
  5. I have not seen one yet. But I will post when it is available or pm you. He was a Texas grad. Worked as attorney at Lewis Brisbois.
  6. I'd effort to get big leads (I know, real cutting edge thought). And then get Arch real reps running the offense once game is out of hand. More than a decent chance Arch will need to play out of necessity. These 12-15 game schedules lend themselves to needing QB depth for injuries.
  7. A guy my wife and I were friends with was shot and killed at a McDonalds 6 p.m. Saturday night. Location was on Katy Freeway near Chimney Rock. I suspect I am not the only one on the board who knows him. He was an attorney, mid 40s, went to Memorial High School where he was a very good QB until he got hurt, and went to Texas undergrad. https://www.click2houston.com/news/local/2024/05/05/man-shot-after-dispute-with-angry-mcdonalds-customer/ Details are sketchy at this point. Apparently the shooter was yelling at the McDonalds cashier about a refund and our friend tried to calm him down. The shooter got mad and shot him before fleeing the scene. One report says the shooting happened inside. And one says outside. Sounds kind of like River Phoenix's character's demise in Stand By Me. Police are attempting to locate the shooter.
  8. I have noticed more than a few kids I know start at ACC and then transfer to Texas. Or that is their stated intent. How common is that?
  9. Only cowards need to hide their faces. The KKK were cowards. So are these pussies who hide their faces while protesting.
  10. I don’t have a problem with not allowing the KKK to march with hoods. For the same reason I have no problem with these protesters being prohibited from covering all or parts of their faces.
  11. I don’t really see a constitutional issue regarding whether they are enforceable. Can you identify the constitutional provision someone might argue they violate?
  12. A prohibition on masks while protesting is very likely enforceable and does not violate the first amendment. Texas and other schools prohibit them. If challenged in court, I’d predict the 5th circuit will enforce. As would the SCOTUS. Based on the second circuit’s reasoning in the 2004 KKK case. We will see. You may disagree. But that’s my prediction. As far as I know, U or Texas’ mask ban for protests hasn’t been challenged yet.
  13. Mask bans are very likely constitutional. I think they are wise. People protesting behave better when you can see their faces. Also aids in identifying them. And then convicting them in front of a jury should they destroy property or commit violence. Courts have long held bans on disguises are constitutional in KKK cases. https://casetext.com/case/church-of-the-american-knights-of-the-ku-klux-klan-v-kerik
  14. Yes. No masks, disguises or face coverings when protesting is a very good policy.
  15. I don' think either him or the death to Israel types should be kicked out of a public school for protected speech.
  16. Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  17. Yep. Albertsons then bought them and Tom Thumb.
  18. No way you have 5 friends.
