Your wife can thank me later.

And the capital Nebraska is Lincoln!

    Film at 11!!!!

  2. This happened a few weeks ago in my hometown. A lot of people helped rescue a deaf puppy that fell in a crevice. The puppy and several others were at a foster home on one of the mountains and Huntsville is on top of limestone so there are crevices. After the fact one of the rescuers adopted the puppy.

Any ideas on how to kill a yellowjacket nest just under my second floor roof? We have tall ceilings and there are no windows nearby. The roof is not accessible without a very tall ladder that I don’t have. The nest is probably 35’ from ground level. Can a spray go that far?

As was stated - you need fire and lots of it and a camera. Make sure to turn the camera sideways if it is a phone

He's gonna escape with a bogey.

I didn't see what hole he was on.  I saw an iron going way right.  Assumed it was a par 4.  Geez.  That was borderline shank territory.

A couple years ago a pro cold shanked a hozzle rocket on one of the holes with the graphical shot tracker. Weird seeing the tracker color totally disappear to the right. Even the announcer jumped in with a comment that he never knew shottracker could track a shank like that

I’ve got changing the diff and transfer case fluids and new shocks and springs for the Jeep on my to do list. I had planned on doing it this week but this 100* heat changed my mind.

Hopefully Jeep got their act together on the rear diff. My Dad's 1999 Grand Cherokee did not have a drain plug - had to remove the rear cover just to change it. Not the worst PITA but a totally avoidable one if they added drain and fill plugs.

Any reason to do wires at same time? I think my truck schedules it together, but I figure wires are a waste.

On my 01 4Runner I did the wires every 50K - just cause.  I wasn't planning on it the first time but got sloppy and broke a wire so I just started doing them. About to do plugs on my Accord at 85K for first time.

  7. Way early but the off season is here. Who gets in as a regular player? The senior committee hasn't named their candidate yet and neither has the contributors committee so we are left with the regular players. And as an aside they finally corrected the huge injustice by voting Jerry Kramer in... Next up should be Gil Brandt...

For the regular players the minimum is four and max is eight.  First time candidates that are well known are Tony Gonzalez, Champ Bailey and Ed Reed. others from the 2018 finalists include

    Tony Boselli

    Isaac Bruce

    Brian Dawkins

    Alan Faneca

    Steve Hutchinson

    Joe Jacoby

    John Lynch

    Kevin Mawae

I think Gonzalez and Reed are locks and probably Bailey. With two DB's that pretty much rules out any others. There is a lot of lineman but not a lot of defensive lineman so I am going with Faneca and Hutchison. Guessing that Bruce might make it just because there are very little offensive skill positions out there. That makes six..

First time with an actual lawn and I'm starting to learn a lot. My backyard is mostly Zoysia grass but there are a few areas where Bermuda is starting to spread. I've looked at numerous sites to see what can help beat back the Bermuda but so much is dependent on location and time of year. Wanted to hear from everyone here in central Texas on any tricks or things you might have done to help the Zoysia win.

Never found a good way and never saw the zoysia win....  The only thing that seemed to work was a small shovel and digging up the roots and using a small application to apply roundup only on bermuda

Mine disangages when I turn my signal on. I still turn it off even though it's only a warning chime and not active intervention on my car.

Traction control has saved my ass a few times, but I find all of the other nannies useless.

On my Accord I turned lane departure off while driving home from the dealer and never regretted it

  10. 20 years ago on Labor day weekend. Walked on at Grand National outside Auburn. I had played it before and loved it so I tried again. Dropped an 81 from the blues. COuldn't complaign about not getting under 80 because I remember that I did not mishit anything - just a really good time

I apologize for the length of this post.

I got him to ballpark it.  He said $300 to $400.  He explained it to me and the best I can recall, Rolex has a checklist and things that have to be replaced on a mandatory basis.  He suggested if anything out of the ordinary had to be done, Rolex might charge $1,200.  He also said that he gets a lot of watches from bigger shops around town, who turn around and charge people double for his work).  He told me the big difference between Rolexes and Omegas (at least the older ones) is that Rolexes uses sacrificial aluminum gears and other parts that have to be replaced and Omega (steel gears) are just, overall, more straightforward to work on.  He also suggested that they keep better time, but no reason to start that pissing contest when it comes to stuff this cool and mechanical.  According to him, when Rolexes haven't been serviced on the regular (4--5 year interval), he has been able to turn them over, and knock the metal dust onto a piece of paper.

Overall, just a different manner of building watches.  But one is easier to service and maintain than the other.

So, back to the Rolex quote.  This guy is the type that does the standard cleaning, lubrication, checks, and repairs what needs repairing rather than what is on a checklist.  He's not a Rolex certified repair shop.  But his dad, who ran the shop before him was, and he (mid 30s) seems (and from reports from others) like he has been doing this since he could first walk and talk.

For me, who wears this watch about twice per week, but who wants to keep it in good working order, a guy like this fits the bill.  But, again, this is an inherited watch, and I'm not rolling in the dough (poser, I am).

Makes sense.  I know mine had totally froze before I took it in so it probably needed a few new parts.

Serious question, does this occur at the Masters as well? I haven't watched in the last 3-4 years, but it seems like Augusta National is the one place that wouldn't tolerate that asshattery.

Exactly - the penalty of getting tossed and losing future tickets forever has a great effect on behavior.  I have posted this before but they could end the yelling crap by starting to enforce any existing laws on public intox.  Yep it's  low priority but a few hours in the drunk tank and having to explain in job interviews - might make people think twice.
