He's good in run support. Why they have him on the fastest fucking player on the field, who knows.
They aren't running anymore, so Locke doesn't need to be in there.

He's usually slow in diagnosing, but when he isn't getting blocked, hes good in run support

  2. They are holding quite a bit on these runs. Some of them, you can see our guys getting pulled away from the runner from behind.

This is the right gameplan though, make them methodically drive up the field and we will have more opportunities to make plays.

Heard an interesting story from a UT student that every top recruit should think about when making their college decision.

A friend’s son just started at UT. He had a ton of friends go to A&M and OU, presumably because they couldn’t get into UT, although a few got conned by the aggy “college atmosphere” pitch and actually picked a&m.

Anyway, school has been in session for over a month and my friend’s son keeps getting bothered by friends from a&m and OU coming into Austin, every single weekend. He asks them why they don’t just do stuff in college station or Norman and they all say it’s so boring they can’t find anything interesting to do. Every weekend these guys are road tripping to Austin, and none of them are originally from Austin. They are from various parts of the state. It’s bugging my friend’s son big time.

Where's the interesting part? This shit is common knowledge

So you want a team captain to set insubordination as his final example for the youngsters before he leaves? Come on man.

That's not insubordination, bowl games are exhibitions..a reward after a long season. The young guys know they'll have to wait their senior year (or JR if they're bailing for the league) before they can get away with that shit. Refs tend to let stuff like that go in bowl games (within reason) because they understand what it is as well..

As long as it's agreed upon with the coaches beforehand, idgaf what he does. It's insubordination if the coaches tell him not to do something and he does it anyway.

As much as I respect Orlando for the job he's done, I really hope Chris gets to play in a big bowl game this year, makes a sack and does the belly rub. What's Todd gonna do..bench him?

And that is the question. If you are afraid to use the legs than you are putting a worse pocket passer in the game.

Sam doesn’t need 100+, but 50-80yards a game would completely change the offensive dynamic regardless of how you do it.

Sam's running ability helps the OL, pass catchers, and RBs. Even if he isn't actually running the ball himself, it is having an impact.

And it’s the complete lack of running stats for a running QB that have most worried. Not the average passing numbers.

He supposedly won the job because of his legs, if we can’t or won’t use them then we chose poorly

right now he is like Heard as a QB. Defenses know that we can’t beat them outside or over the top, so the crowd the box and tackle the short passes and limit the run. We have to execute long drives and need multiple broken tackles for explosive plays. Regression.

    Find the QB running game

The threat of a run is valuable too. If we run Sam too much and he gets hurt, like he did last year, we lose that threat.

They will use his called runs when we need it most.

    He's also more of a chain-moving runner than a game-breaking runner.
