The game is "Is she hot?," not "Would you do her?" - those are two completely separate questions. I would obviously fuck prime Susan Sarandon. I have done far, far worse. But I just don't see why people consider her to be some sort of beauty. She's got...saggy eyes? Not sure how to describe it. Same thing with Betty Davis and Elizabeth Moss. Who I would also fuck but do not consider to be beauties by any means.

Noted. Elizabeth Moss was borderline fuckable in mad men and she’s fallen off a cliff since then

I don’t even wanna think about what else you’ve dug into. Woof.

Lines like this piss me off.  Were we not doing Big Boy recruiting the last two years?  We were.  We just won more of the battles where Texas was the final one or two or three schools left.  This year we aren't.  It's not a huge thing as we still are sitting solid and we seem (based on the reporting) have a few players lined up that are leaning Texas for now who if we get we would all be ecstatic about.  So what else has changed:

I think losing Choice has had an impact.   I believe in prior years we had our #1 RB locked in by July 1, but it's not like I have gone off and confirmed that.  By all reports, Choice was a very good recruiter.

The Changing NIL Landscape.  - The change in NIL with the settlement and its impact this year has created a unique one-off.  Schools feel that to some extent NIL rules will be equalized this time next year so they are attempting to get in ahead of some of these changes and grandfather in things they think won't count against a cap/etc.  Also in general, Texas was ahead of the game with NIL and support along with a small handful of schools and now other schools are catching up.

I am still not worried in the slightest though because we should hit on a high enough number of elite players to have an elite class overall.  Second, I feel that the staff does an exceptional job at evaluation and some of the players we keep recruiting despite a commitment or circled back to after missing on an initial target (late bloomers or players committed to other schools out of the gate)  the last two years have been good.  I thought TyAnthony Smith, Kobe Black, and Wardell Mack when I was typing this, but truthfully I can't remember.  I'm sure someone in here will correct me if I am wrong.

Finally, the staff seems to do an exceptional job of evaluating its roster and finding a transfer player or two or three to lock down at positions of need.  So even if we have a hole, we seem to do an exceptional job of finding a transfer as the worst case scenario.

The cycle isn’t over yet. There is ALWAYS late movement at just about every major player. We finished very strongly last year.

We’re going to be fun to watch this season and we will get more NIL aggressive. We’ll be fine.
Beating UGa and Ohio State in their backyards this year will help perception too.

Venables is still a much better coach than strong. Y’all seem to forget just how dog shit we were under Chuckles.

We had a bad environment in total around Strong. He was a shitty coach in a tough situation.
Venables has all he needs to be much better than he is performing.

Herman was an average coach buoyed by Greg Ward at UH, then here with Sam Ehlinger.

  4. I thought part of Tate’s message was for guys to get off their asses, make money, and become somebody, but there are so many internet wannabe role models out there it’s hard to know who is saying what.

  5. Considering all the information they have on this guy, if they're taking him while so many others are still on the board, they must see him on the same level as those guys.

Turntine wants to be a doctor and our med school/program is better.  I don't see Turntine as being overly driven by money.  Even if ATM were to offer a higher NIL package, it wouldn't be enough to "Turn" him, IMO.  We hold the cards in this recruitment, reports indicate it, common sense dictates it.

Not that it matters much, but Turntine is not interested in doing the doctor thing anymore. More football/opportunity focused. Still favors us, but academics aren't a huge factor anymore.

  7. DMo looking like a JAG while being the second most reliable receiver last year, putting up 7 TDs in a stacked WR room, and being the best blocker at the position is a take.

His hands were suspect at times for sure, but were they any worse than Bond’s?
Looking less athletic on the field when you have Matt “4.29” Golden, Isaiah “fastest recorded mph at the combine” Bond, and Ryan Wingo to compare him to can make it easy to underestimate his ability.
I could see him going over 1k and maybe 8ish TDs this year if he stays healthy.

  8. The most important thing here is that Brooks was described as polite and cooperative.

Can't see this being a bigger deal than it seems, gotta punish him to discourage others from similar behavior.
