  1. If you were to list all of the guys involved in those videos OTF would probably have 4 or 5 of the top 7.

Bobby has by far the most connections in the industry and at Texas, Gerry has the most connections as far as the HS landscape.

CJ isn't a finished product, but the effort is apparent. I enjoy most of their content I get a chance to listen to.

IT is full of undeserved egos. I've never been able to stomach much of anything OB or Chip Brown/Taylor Gaspar put out.

If he fully plays out this contract, he will have earned $400M as an above average starting NFL quarterback. Crazy.

    FIFY

He's well above average since he's been starting for most of his career. He also has nearly 40k passing yards and a 2.7:1.1 career TD to INT ratio.

He's also above average amongst starting NFL QBs.

He also isn't getting that kind of money to be a starting NFL QB on a team entering his age 36 season if he isn't above average. He is and who is and people who matter clearly value his previous and potential contributions to a team as a starter.

He's not a super bowl caliber QB on his own, but he would be an upgrade over most starting QBs in the league.

Shit, Baker just got $100M to give you an idea of the market

  3. To definitively say Sweat was more impactful than Murphy is very suspect analysis.

Murphy regularly pushed/collapsed the pocket even while getting held on multiple occasions. He's young but mature for his age, plays with leverage, great motor and short area quickness, and he's got a strong set of pass rush moves. Apparently backing up his tape with high level workout numbers too.

Sweat was also very good, but was more of a flash player on key downs instead of a constant problem. With his sheer size, length, and strength, you would think he would be more consistently dominant when you consider the quality of OL he faced. He also has the lazy/unmotivated tag on him, so he has to overcome the questions about his previous years.

Any of y'all think the dollars or length are out of line, take a look at what other coaches who haven't made the playoffs are making.

    Lincoln Riley - $10M/yr through 2031

Lane Kiffin - $9M/yr through 2027 (Mississippi law only allows 4 yr contracts to state employees)

    Josh Heupel - $9M/yr through 2029

    Mark Stoops - $9M/yr through 2030

    James Franklin - $8.5M/yr through 2031

Jimbo Fisher - $7M/yr through 2031 (and was paid ~$20M within 60 days of his firing)

Both of those guys have been to the CFP at least once, and one of them, Fisher, has won a title.

However, if you meant "at their current school", then you could add Kalen DeBoer to that list as well.

  5. He’s not the twitchiest guy, but if he learns to combine his leverage with his eventual strength, he’s gonna be a big problem. He’s winning with sheer grit right now

He's not a first rounder yet unless he takes a major jump this year.

well fuck, someone better tell Sark. dude had 28% of his catches for the season vs Washington and 1 catch through the first like 9 games.

folks inside and outside the program have spoken very highly of Baxter's hands. Blue has played in 14 games in his career and has 14 total catches, with 4 of them in his last game.

i like guys who have an all around game. we know who the coaching staff liked based on how they played guys when all 3 were healthy.

    • Alabama: 15 touches for Brooks, 15 touches for Baxter, 2 touches for Blue (for 2 total yards btw)
    • Kansas: 22 touches for Brooks, 17 touches for Baxter, 4 touches for Blue
    • OU: 27 touches for Brooks, 7 touches for Baxter, 0 for Brooks
    • Kansas State: 22 touches for Brooks, 10 touches for Baxter, 2 touches for Blue
    • ISU: 25 touches for Baxter, 11 touches for Blue, 0 for JB (hurt)

i get that you like the home run potential, but it's very, very clear how the staff valued the true freshman over the guy who had been with the program a full season.

would be floored if Blue is the RB1 next year, without injury, at any point.

It's okay to not get super defensive when someone disagrees with you. Baxter has good hands, Blue has elite hands and better route running ability for a RB.

Baxter's ability to handle running in between the tackles and pass protection is what got him on the field early and often. Brooks took it from him after it was clear he was more effective and Baxter was dinged up.

Blue came on initially due to necessity, but Sark/Choice definitely began to trust him more as the year went on and he produced when called upon. They'll both be featured next year.

I agree with all of that. But one thing that won’t dramatically improve with Baxter is speed. So that’s why I’m giving him a big nod over Baxter, instead of shortshrifting Baxter.

Baxter is plenty fast. Blue is just crazy fast.

If Baxter can learn to maintain his balance and run through people with his increased size and speed, he'll be exceptional. He showed flashes of that last year.
