This. Exposure to OSU as a kid is why he went there. I remember as a kid listening, here in Texas, to the Yankees play the Reds in the World Series. Fell in love with the Yankees and still a big fan. Easy to see Wilson growing up and wanting to play for them. We will be fine. There are no guarantees regardless if where you pay.
Especially considering he saw them play in two Nat'l title games and many other BCS bowls during those years.
While in Texas, he saw the end of Mack's era and Strong's broken bus.

This shit right here. If anything, him living in ATX worked out to be a negative for us.
Yea, he got to see first hand the wasted careers/talents of many highly touted recruits.

So far he has made 35k. Nothing more and is guaranteed nothing more.
Think football education. Another year in the weight room, on the white board and all over ESPN and every award list. He moves up even one round he gets a guaranteed deal with all of the money you are talking about.
A Thorpe award winner putting a second year on film after just one year of playing seems like a terrible idea.
Desmond King agrees with this

Laremy Tunsil had that picture pop up right before the draft, and he still went round 1. He had to have something else happen for him to go undrafted.
-
The Chiefs drafted Khalil McKenzie, who exclusively played DT in college and was a bust of a prospect, to play OG in the NFL.
Do none of these other guys have problems with weed?
-
Never mind, he did mention Wilson. I didn't catch it the first time. He also mentioned Jake Smith.
-
I guess it wasn't just a coincidence that when they asked Roschon who he was recruiting, he didn't mention Garrett Wilson or even Elijah Higgins

5-11 usually doesn't get a DT drafted very high. He could show up at 5 or later.
There are 6' DTs getting taken. Maybe if he had more pass rush value.
Someone is gonna get a steal in drafting Ford.

Let's see someone take a chance on Malik or Hollywood in the 2nd round.

Perfect place for Connor. I'll be rooting for him

Gotta be Connor here for San Fran.
Looks like people are trading up for questionable picks today.

If he doesn't end up with us (looking less likely), I definitely want him at South Carolina because who doesn't like more aggy tears?

It makes sense. We have no real idea of Watson will play this year coming off his ACL or what we will do if he gets hurt again. If they both end up really good, then we have a trade piece.

i'm feeling....
For someone who was so certain Wilson was already coming to Texas, Wilson pushing his commitment back post Texas OV all but confirms that he was/is headed up north, no?

It's painful to say that I agree with you. Herman and his staff are great recruiters, but in my opinion, there is no doubt that we are going to have to have a great record in 2018 to be able to sustain our recruiting success. Not the "hey look at our progress with 8 wins and a Belk Bowl invite" type of season, but a 9-10 win season with a threat to win the Big 12. Jimbo has a lot more to sell than Sumlin, and UT has to have on-field results to counter.
He has much more to sell, but he also has much higher expectations to meet. Additionally, he has to deal with Alabama, Auburn, and LSU every year. The tone in College Station will change dramatically once they fail to meet those lofty standards.

The (possibly) is for Angilau because he may be going on a 2 year LDS mission trip.

I'm typically a pessimist these days but Wilson feels like a guy that is going to end up with the good guys.
J.K. Dobbins
Herman better not lose to fucking Kansas this year.

Porter still pretty worthless I see.

I see you, Rowland. Nice! I am definitely seeing a better Sam, though I hope he doesn't have to rely on LJH that much. I think there are some encouraging signs but we definitely need Tre Watson to come aboard and Patrick Hudson to get healthy.
Nothing wrong with relying on your best player to make the offense go. Both he and CJ will be on the field together plenty. If we can get better production from the ground game, we will look much better.

I think the point, he, myself, and others have made is that the likelihood of us looking like anything other than a pile of shit on offense in this Spring game is unlikely. Very unlikely. Literally every 9.95 dingleberry has said as much, it's the one thing they're consistent on across sites. And as he said, the reason for that is a shitty makeshift line, a bad playcaller, a potentially rainy and wet field, etc. You keep saying "he's all texas if they show him something" but the thing you're asking them to show has about as much likelihood of being seen as Rosie O'Donnel at Le Bare while eating a fucking salad. In short, he's not coming here.
Also, saying Ohio State looked mediocre in their spring game is a stupid, stupid defense. Like it or not, Urban has a long and storied history of offensive success. We've looked putrid for years, as recently as last. Guess what, he doesn't have to sell his resume.
Tom Herman won't let the offense look like shit on Saturday. Our offense looked pretty solid during last year's Spring game, he knows what's at stake and will make things happen.

We were gonna land Irv. smith jr before Bama swooped in. There have also been other former A&M commits who have ended up with us.
They have new hope to sell this cycle though. That and a strong recruiting staff will make them a force regardless of our record this season.
We’ll have a good class either way. -

Not coming to the spring game... the longer he puts off his visit, the less likely it happens. Just like Demani Richardson.
Except in this case, there is a strong relationship already in place. It's also much easier to make it to Austin from San Antonio than the Dallas area.

One thing I learned watching is is don’t take a spring game performance for anything but a grain of salt.
This. Cam Newton looked like warmed over dogshit in Auburn’s spring game. Then, he went on to dominate CFB.

Probably not even revisionist. They probably consistently overrate their own players and are honestly confused when others don't share that sentiment.
Good luck to GW though, hope he fares better in college than the last 5-star kid from Lake Travis named Garrett.
