I am working under the assessment offered upthread that the gun was a BT bolt action integrally suppressed handgun. The video is 100% compatible with that assessment, including the shooter working the bolt. But we could certainly find out that that was not the weapon used.

fair enough.  My point was it could be fab'd  something like a Ruger Mark IV with a homemade suppressor.

MK3 Firearms MK-O Ruger MK IV Suppressor - YouTube

I can't make out much of the gun in that video other than it's black, the barrel is long, and he appears to be racking it.

If so this will be very easy to trace, assuming it was not smuggled into the country.

How would you trace a homemade suppressor?

My money is on this guy not being a pro, I think he doesn't give a shit, but at the same time he's not a complete moron and would like to get away with it.   total guess.  Time will tell, or perhaps not.

It's a $2300 gun and subject to ATF approval to purchase. Assuming he didn't get it off the black market (unlikely imo), we're talking a few months on the waitlist and jumping through the ATF hoops. It is probably a relatively easy purchase to trace. Can't imagine there are a lot of these in circulation, niche gun, limited imports.

I don't know if it's that specific gun, but the video does show SOME evidence that it's silenced.  The women not knowing what's happening, car alarms not going off all around him, and the profile of the gun.   I think it's naïve to think that a guy out for blood would make sure to go through all the red tape.  Lots and lots of gun owners and collectors flaunt the laws.  Even here, on this board, you will see folks talking about losing their guns whilst fishing.  It's not a stretch to think this guy bought gun private party to use for murder or bought/fashioned a suppressor for a different gun.  It's a wild world in gun nut land.

Looks like he might have been using one of these or similar:

Maybe, I thought he was just having trouble stove piping, but on further review he appears to be charging the weapon with each shot.  The shooter does seem to be futzing with it as he's walking up to the guy on the ground.  Also that explains why the women didn't clue in right away as to what was happening if the gun was suppressed.

i don't know if this is just your regularly scheduled insane rimbo stuff or if you are just drunk but wtf are you talking about? extremely high gain/distortion means you can basically just do whatever the fuck you want to the guitar including just slapping your dick against the neck and it is just going to sound like you're rocking out. things like fucked up barre chords and more exotic chords sound a thousand times "better" in that scenario then with a clean signal chain or an acoustic.

Exactly the same premise and almost exactly the same jokes. Maybe call each other next time SEC Shorts and SEC Roll Call.

Florida planted their flag on the Seminole logo after the game and shit got heated.

Desecrating Ron Zook field like that ….  Damned shame the school that has a turf grave yard is so sensitive.  Maybe they should have fought more during the game.

JJ Pegues gets a TD.  10-7 Rebs.

It worked this time, but him trying to glory hound off tackle cost them the game against the Gata and a playoff shot.  Hope he really enjoyed that TD tho

Last night at the ranch was just me, my daughter, my 94 year old mom, and my dogs so it was pleasant.  That all ended this morning when my MAGAT older sister came up.  I’ve already been subjected to rants about how the only President worse than Carter was Biden.  She also made fun of my daughter liking Taylor Swift because if she wasn’t so liberal she could get a man and wouldn’t have to only sing about her break ups.  Also had to listen to rant about Talylor Swift being a bitch for telling my sister that she can’t drive an SUV while she flies around in a private jet.  I’m not sure where the fuck that one came from.  I’m getting reading to take my daughter into town to go to WalMart so we can be around less unpleasant people.

Losing your keys would be easy to do at a ranch...  very distracting too, worrying about finding your keys, might take up a lot of free time backtracking and checking cushions etc.  Just a thought

Just got back last night and had a wonderful trip as always. It was a rainy trip with about 36ish hours straight of drizzle but we made it work

Got back Sunday, but yeah cold and rainy Thurs & Friday

    Restaurants:

    • Nom Wah Tea Parlor:   Dim Sum...  It's just ok, chances are it's not better (or possibly as good) as places you might have at home.  But it feels old and authentic and hit the spot after flying in early.  I was the only gringo in the joint.
    • Foul Witch:  Really good 8/10  Focaccia & cultured butter with the Testa...  fucking great.  Scallops also great.  Skip the Lobster Linguini, would have had the Pork Collar but pine nuts fuck me up and I didn't want to risk it.  Arrived a bit early so pregamed at the The Library next door.  Would do that again too.
    • The Mansion (diner):  Nice place to sit and easy to hit before The Met.  Pricey for diner fare, clean bathrooms, and relaxed vibe. Sinatra XM playlist was a bit on the nose.
    • Il Passatore (Brooklyn):   Felt a little dumpy and thought I'd made a mistake.  But, the staff are all Italian from Italy and I relied on them to guide us a bit.  Best bang for the buck.    Suppli Al Telephono not as good as in Rome, but this is the first place I've seen it in the States.  Ravioli di burrata was very good.  Had some sort of Pepper Gelato and it was great.   Awesome place to hit before heading over to Brooklyn Steel
    • Sake Bar Decibel:  Food is ok/good, but made better by the Sake.   Cool vibe.  I would recommend this place to anyone who likes grungy but authentic.  You have to look for this place, you'd never just stumble onto it.  But you should go IMO

One other note, I was a bit worried about dress code.  We were packing light and the weather was crap.  It wasn't close to an issue anywhere we went, but as you can see above, we didn't go anywhere fancy. ymmv

Also big shout out to the folks (plural) walking around rainy cold streets in socks and Crocs...

I can’t recall a team making such a drastic mid-season turn around on the field and on the recruiting trail

DJ & Baugh and a slew of other young talent.   Kids see what's coming and want to be a part of it.  Billy isn't a great coach, but he is a player's coach.

The production quality looks a little Syfy Network to me, but I hope it’s good.

Counterpoint:  The Expanse.  SYFY did a fantastic job, really really good given the scale and world building on that one.
