  1. It's fun when your dad gets to the age that he simply does not give a fuck about anything he says out loud or who the audience is.

I was visiting them at Christmas and talking to my parents and my sisters about my upcoming trip to Vietnam. I was talking about what I cities I was going to be visiting, my flights, etc.

My dad is just sitting there listening, and then just says "That's a damn long way to fly just for some poontang."

The most frustrating part is that the candidate doesn't even need to be pro-life, they just have to pretend to care about it.  Trump has spent his entire adult life being the antithesis of what the pro-life movement represents, but he reads some lines off of a teleprompter and lets a few preachers touch him and suddenly he's a full-fledged evangelical.

It's almost as if -- wait a moment -- a large number of evangelical leaders are absolutely and completely full of shit.

Interesting.  Do you have any analysis from our esteemed President or anyone else who takes into account the fact that many local law enforcement budgets have been slashed by around 25% over the last 8 years, and those entities have lost thousands of uniformed officers?

Since, you know, the point of that tweet is correlation=causation.  Just wondered if anyone took into account other things that correlate to the issue of crime, like the number of law officers, and their budgetary capabilities, and the missions they've been charged with.  No?  Nobody did that?  He just cherry picked an issue that matters to him and his base, and committed the correlation= causation logical fallacy?  Not surprising.

Also, I note that the UK crime rate went up 13% in the first year of Trump's presidency.  Clearly, his leadership is so harmful that it even hurts our allies and their domestic crime rate.  You know, since correlation=causation now.  My conclusion is just as valid as Trump's.  I expect you to lap it up just the same.

But your post doesn't say anything bad about brown people, so Smokey isn't going to find your particular dish palatable.

Never eaten bone marrow before. Grilled it. It was pretty good. Works great as a topping to another meat maybe one that may tend to dry out so this buttery spread helps. Served with pork butt here.

Where'd you pick up the bones?

  5. During baseball season I usually throw a couple of bucks down on one of the nightly games just for fun. After a brutal start to the season where I was finishing bottom 5-bottom 10%, I'm slowly doing better.

Usually just do a smaller (1,000 entry) group or one of those double-ups. I'm not in this to win huge money, just enough to keep weeknight baseball interesting.

Anybody else? I'm always willing to listen to lineup tips, etc.

I still don't understand why this is happening, but you can't ignore the fact that most R Congressmen/women bend the knee to Cheeto. They're professtional politicians, and they've made the calculation that the Cheeto voters are here to stay. They'll continue to support his Orangeness, and they'll vote for Trump 2.0 when he shows up.

They have to. If they support Trump and he fails, they can always turn on him at the very end....and our ADHD society will remember them front and center heaping shovels of dirt on the failed administration. No one, save but a few, will remember them as sycophants in the early days.

However if the opposite happens...if they resist Trump and he is successful, their career is fucking over.

And there you have it, Career over Party. Party over Country.

I assume the park is leash only? She does sound like a crazy bitch with nothing better to do, but nothing annoys me more than dogs off leashes who run up to you while you're trying to jog. Austin had a fair number of white trash and hipsters who would get mad when I asked them to not let their dogs run up to me at a full sprint to me when I'm in the god damn street.

My neighborhood has a couple of people like this. It is very strange. This one old lady "walks" her dog without a leash all the time. She lets it run like a block ahead of her. Granted, if she calls he comes hauling ass back, but still I think it's strange. Her dog is sweet but has come running up my driveway...I think he's lost...then here comes that old broad.

And every time she talks to anyone, the first thing she does is brags on the fact that he's so well trained he doesn't "need a leash". It's like they are just strutting around the neighborhood showing off and scoreboarding all those lesser-developed dog owners who need to keep their dog on a leash.

I don't get it. That's a strange thing to decide to be so proud of.

EXT. BOY SCOUT CAMPGROUND - MORNING

BUZZROCK is standing at the camp kitchen, steam is emanating from the large dutch oven. A group of boy scouts sit around the campsite, sleepy-eyed but looking bored and restless.

    BUZZROCK:
"Ok kids, come and get your beans!"

BOY SCOUTS slump their shoulders and lean back in exasperation

    ONE BOY SCOUT, TO ANOTHER
"This campout sucks. This is the third meal in a row we've just had a bowl of frickin' beans."

Don't be beans dad, be kickass three fires maple cream cheese french toast dad.

That's borderline. I was thinking top 5 to top 10 in the league... defintely Dez range.

Before that it was probably a while. Maybe Marvin Harrison in 2007? Just seems like paying a lot of money for anything other than OL, DL, and DB doesn't lead to many championships.

Then take into account when that high priced receiver is a one trick pony who has seemingly lost that trick due to age and yet, according to Stephen Jones, is also a distraction with his antics. I think I'm firmly in the cut Dez now camp.

I think there's a lot here. This running storyline this offseason about how Dez is working with a route-running guru....that feels like a Dez's camp story, not a Cowboys front office story. Like Dez's camp trying to prove his worth to the Joneses, et al.

So it only took him how many seasons to actually get serious about his craft and not just rely on physical advantage? I'd cut him for that alone.

in 2000 i  started sunday one shot back in my club championship.  i made birdie on 17 to take a one shot lead.  last hole was a par 5. i knock it on in two.  the guy who is one back is in my group. he hit it in the shit, chipped out and then missed the green. he now  has a 20 footer far par. i have a 20 footer for eagle.

he makes and i 4 putt.

    i lost the playoff.

That's when you take all your Golf shit and put it on Craigslist Free Stuff, and toss it all out by the curb. Fuck that.

  11. Fun game last night for those of you who stayed up and said F Sleep.

McCutchen had a beautiful AB to draw a bases loaded walk and then the Giants took the lead on two sac flies. It was classic SFGiants baseball, rinky dinking around the basepaths and somehow getting runs out of it. Goldy bomb in the 9th tied it back up but fortunately Cutch walked it off with a single in B9.  I think it finished up around 12:40am central time, so I would have had to check out if it went into extras.

2:45pm first pitch today...workplace productivity about to go down down down

You’re playing defense and dismissing it before it even airs. It’s not irksome. It’s sad.
