I guess watching personnel groupings and other substitutions is pretty advanced for a group like that.

No game is safe. We’re a lock for 11-1. But the sips might get beaten up by Vanderbilt. “What I haven’t seen is their depth.” Then maybe watch a fucking game. JFC.

These fucking clowns who think Texas isn’t physical and doesn’t have depth are heading Mach Five towards a crapton of cognitive dissonance.

Where “destroyed” means won on a late game TD to a freak receiver, of course.

Tell Me About Texas a&m
You could play QB for Missouri, since you didn’t see the receivers running open in their secondary, either.

Where did I argue with you? Texas took a relatively generic game plan into it, didn’t waver when it got frustrating, and choked them out because they couldn’t win with that approach. Sarkisian literally said “good luck” winning with Mississippi State’s approach. It was basically a glorified scrimmage as far a scheme.

It scares you to death, too.

Eh Mississippi State did that because Texas had no desire to change to take anything away. Yes, tackling and execution could’ve been better, but schematically Texas didn’t give a fuck if Mississippi State was content to try to grind. If it could’ve made a difference, Texas would’ve changed. Without the mistakes, grinding was even less feasible.

I’m not saying being unbeaten will be required, but a loss is never a blessing, disguised or otherwise.

Texas mistakes allowed Mississippi State to stick with their offensive approach. That said, Texas wasn’t willing to adjust to stop it because it ultimately couldn’t work.

That’s kind of what I was getting at, though having an opponent will help. I don’t think Oregon is all that, so I could see Ohio State boat racing them.

Ohio State narrowed the gap behind Texas, though.

Not sure why Texas needs to refocus or needs a loss to do it. Is that how elite teams usually look at the season?

Sometimes that’s true. Missing wide open receivers is bad, no matter who you’re playing.

Oh, but theirs does? Yeah, the turnovers, Cook’s drop, the purposefully generic defense, etc. is probably 3 TDs, if not more because it takes them out of their position to try to melt clock. The thing about it, though, is that Sarkisian is playing the long game. He’s doing with player rotation, game planning, handling injuries, etc. His eye is on the grind through a long season. And that may mean “win by 20 and move on” more than “keep kicking them” in some games. A&M’s secondary has nothing at all for this offense. Texas will get pressure on their passer, whichever is alive at that point. All that said, stuff happens and sometimes the better team loses. Texas doesn’t need to go unbeaten to win it all or to have a shot at winning it all.

Exactly. But he missed guys running open. If I’m remembering the sequence, he missed a probable TD pass the play before the one called back for ineligible man down field.

Texas is at least two TDs better than those maroon fucks, at Kyle. Nothing much more than hitting open passes and that Missouri game is substantially different.

Theoretically, I wouldn’t rank Michigan or Missouri but I’m not entirely sure who I think is more deserving. Army? Kentucky? Maybe drop them and raise Boise State who lost by 3 on the road to #3. I don’t see anything there that makes me roll my eyes.
