Verlander needs to pitch the best 5-6 innings of his life tonight
A little dramatic. I’d settle for one or two runs over five six.
But the batting order absolutely must produce 12-15 runs.

To be fair, a lot of their customers are Marines.
Contrast between ads for the Army and Marines are hilarious. Army is selll itself as adult summer camp — they depict soldiers shooting pool in a dive bar talking smack, sitting around a campfire, etc. Marine ads? KILL KILL KILL. Not quite like the post-911 one with the Marine SuperPowerMorphing into the Knight in Shining Armor and literally slaying a dragon, but similar overall message

Bring us a W like you did in the Bronx. Hit Delassandros steaks in Manyunk for the best cheesesteak in the city.
According to angry locals ticketed by the Philadelphia Parking Authority on Parking Wars, the cheesesteaks at Gooey Louie’s are worth their own price and whatever they are assessed for the ticket

They are just wearing it the fuck out. I don’t think it’s terrible per se but it’s overexposure makes me want to break something beautiful

I know a Jewish David Duke. He uses a fake first name on social media….
He’s a close friend of a good friend of mine who has a warped sense of humor. The two of them abuse each other for sport and it’s all in good fun — Duke rags on Chris for being redneck trash and Chris gives David the Cartman vs Kyle business and it’s all in good fun but one Friday afternoon Chris was relaxed enough and dumb enough to engage like this on the phone at work. A co-worker passing his office heard his end of the banter and ran straight to HR.
Called on the carpet, Chris tried to explain. “She heard me say what? Oh wow that must have sounded terrible! But I was just talking to my good friend. His names David Duke.”

“Of course he married his cousin! I dated one of my Swaggart cousins! Look around this town. Ain’t nobody around for miles worth dating we ain’t kin to!” — one of the Killer’s nieces, to me, a couple of years ago, over beers and crawfish on a sunny spring afternoon in the courtyard of the combo Killer’s sister’s home / museum / shrine / drive-thru liquor store in Ferriday Louisiana.
Y’all, if I’d stuck around I am pretty sure I could have tapped that right there in the shrine lol…it’s surreal in there. That neice apparently crashes in one of the bedrooms. There were half drunk bottles of liquor all over the place — some in the living area and others unprotected in the displays: if you want to take a swig from a bottle presented to JLL by Paul McCartney back in ‘71, there’s nobody or nothing stopping you. I had the place to myself for well over an hour.
A destination truly worthy of the man.

He’ll die tomorrow. I honestly didn’t know he was still alive.
Yeah that’s been the case in every similar example I can think of, of an old celeb initially reported dead, then revealed to be alive still. Remember minds me of touchdowns overturned in first down inside the one-foot line. Offense almost always punches it in in the next play but on extremely rare occasions the D holds for a goal line stand.
Theoretically. I do not think I’ve ever actually seen the specific example I laid out above occur IRL just as I don’t think I’ve ever seen an old get more than a 12- or 16-hour reprieve after being reported dead like this. But if there is Anyone capable of stuffing G. Reaper’s RPO for four straight plays, it’s the Killer. Like Uncle Slayton up in the thickets with his Asian bride, Jerry Lee Motherfucking Lewis is just too mean to die.

If any of you get the chance to visit his late sister’s — now his two nieces’ — combo home / Killer shrine / museum / working drive-thru liquor store in his hometown of Ferriday, Louisiana, take it. Trust me, you will have stories for life. It’s a cut above your usual combo home / shrine / museum / working drive thru liquor store, due to the nieces. They hold it down for the family rep very well

Not buying this bit for a second (from the Newsweek article):
“She said some advised it was better for family secrets to remain within the family.“
yeah you might hear that if you go around telling people you saw daddy plowing the secretary on his desk or even if she busted him getting his freak on with barnyard critters…or if he smoked weed or swindled his brother out of his birthright with a mess of potage or some shit like that, but murder? Again and again and again? And she told half the town and they are ALL just like “Aw honey hush. Good little girls don’t run around tattling on their daddy.”
Big, and extremely fucked up, if true.- 2

Then I read years later Scott was motivated to pitch his ass off because he felt slighted when the Mets traded him to Houston years before for career journeyman scrub, Danny Heep. I can't prove it, but I think Jesse Orosco is still a situational reliever under an assumed name in Antigua.
Win it for Jim Pankovits
Nah, that just making up a story to fit the facts. Scott was a shitty pitcher with a rocket arm at the time of the trade. He could bring at 95–97 but had no real second pitch. Depending on who you believe the Astros taught him either a split fingered fastball or a scuffball and with that second pitch in his arsenal he was about as dominant as any pitcher can be. His two pitch combo was so lethal because he threw them both at the same speed. One of them would fall off a cliff en route to the plate and the other would not. And Scott had total command of both.
His post season abuse of the Mets was little better than the way he wrecked everybody that year and for a couple more later.
And Danny Heep was a guy the Mets hoped could find the form that once had him as the Astros top prospect. It was unlikely that he would, but neither team thought the deal would amount to anything at the time it was made.

These two were hilarious there for a long while. The jailbait sting? Not sure whether to point and laugh at these two again and extend that to all involved or to take pity on the “actress” and the “producer.” They might have certain powers of persuasion Wohl lacks. Judging by research spurred on by a post up thread.
Anyway the voter fraud thing should have landed them in prison for at least five years

Judging by what he sent her Dad probably thinks Fox News is overrun with devious RINOs and librul spies. He’s way up on the uncut dope of Q Anon shit and he’s clearly doing plenty of his own (idiotic) “research” at this point.
