So what were his best recordings? Seems like Nirvana "In Utero" would be at or near the top, although I much prefer "Nevermind". I'd guess Pixies/Breeders were some of his biggest sellers. Who else?
All I know is that the recordings he did of Cheap Trick re-doing their second album ("In Color") in 1997 put the original songs to shame.

I disagreed with some of his musical opinions, and the music of the bands he was in didn't really resonate with me. But he had firm principles and was steadfastly true to them, which I respected. I also respected his willingness to record artists in various genres for a flat rate, with his sole aim to capture the artist's sound as purely as possible.

This guy stays up at night scheming new and spectacular ways to be more of a douchebag - the love child of Josh Donaldson and Joc Pederson.
About the time he takes a throw right in his earhole is when he'll stop that nonsense. He's young and he'll learn.

Uh...
Bottom feeders, I tell you! That guy has no creditability! I went to college!
Of course, the Aggies fall under "other than bottom feeders."
Stop sucking, dumbass. Yes, when you're so sorry that you are barely ranked or not ranked, a lot of the teams you face will be ranked higher than you. You will no doubt struggle more with your schedule than we will with ours. Miss State, Michigan State, and Arizona State all feel your pain.
The ag poster who linked the CFN article conveniently failed to mention the team that CFN (quite understandably) thinks will be aggy's most difficult opponent -- Texas. Yep, tougher than Notre Dame or LSU or any of the other SECSECSEC opponents on aggy's schedule. That had to stick in his craw.

Oh, he’s lurked here before….and has traveled the States numerous times, so he knows the score.
Plus he’s a former RAF veteran of the Falkland Islands War and the Lebanon “troubles” 40 years ago.
He has “seen the Elephant “.Well, then he's almost certainly smelled things far worse than Greeley.

My English friend has read this thread and will consider staying somewhere besides Greeley.
You've (actually, we've) probably traumatized him. Now he may not come to the States at all.

My gut tells me the record player will stop playing when I walk in... anyway, I would be there midweek.
It's really not a scary place, though they did have a shooting there last year. But it's not a 1% hangout AFAIK.
And yes, there is plenty of hiking in the hills and mountains just east of Lake Forest.

Anything to do in Lake Forest? Will be there on business... I see some nice hiking trails.
There's Cook's Corner at the intersection of Santiago Canyon and Live Oak Canyon, which isn't far from Lake Forest. It's a biker bar, but not the 1% type -- mostly average people who just like to ride Harleys and other motorcycles. It's a rustic bar/restaurant with a laid back atmosphere that can get crowded, esp. on weekends and very esp. on weekends when the sun is shining. Not a bad place to hang out on a sunny SoCal afternoon and have a couple beers. I would go on off hours and during the week if possible.

Jaylan Ford to NO. That's nine Texas draftees so far, I believe.

Wonder why Tampa slid so far. Does he have some kind of health issue? He was nails pretty much every time I saw ISU play the past couple seasons.

Man, the Bucs really blew it. The synchronicity would have been off the charts.

The Bucs have to pick T.J. Tampa, don't they? Shouldn't that be a law or something?
EDIT: Apparently not.

Don't recall hearing about attitude issues with AD, but I know I would sometimes get frustrated with his lack of effort blocking and his sometimes-lazy route running. Dude certainly has NFL size, speed, and other traits, but there were also holes in his game. Mid second round is about right. Hope he does well in the League.

Bourbon
in Food and Travel
Posted · Edited by Carl Spackler
A lot depends on how much you want to spend, of course. As someone just getting started, I think you can get a lot of enjoyment in the $40-80 per bottle range without breaking the bank. It allows you to get a handle on what you like in terms of taste profiles (e.g., sweet vs. spicy, etc.) After that, you can always move up and start spending more per bottle on pricier stuff if you feel like it.
Stuff in that range that I happen to like would include:
Old Forester 1910
4 Roses Small Batch Select
4 Roses Single Barrel
MIchter's American Whiskey
Russell's Reserve Single Barrel
Pikesville Rye
Knob Creek 12
Woodinville
Redwood Empire Lost Monarch
FWIW, Larceny Barrel Proof (A 124 batch) just got awarded best in class in a big spirits competition, and you can still find that bottle in this range.
Store picks are often a good choice in my experience. Not always, but often.
There are also decent bottles below $40 if you are selective, but in general I think the $40-80 range is kind of the "sweet spot" for getting good value while still drinking something worthwhile.
Other people on this board who know far more about bourbon than me can chime in with additional suggestions.
