That cop talking to him is such a condescending asshole. And they wonder why they have a problem with public perception.

Not only condescending but a dumbass.  No, if some random dumbass in a yellow jacket runs up and says 'stop' you don't automatically stop. Especially if said dumbass strikes you with his flashlight.

I really wish Scottie gave an unvarnished, completely true statement other than his initial "big misunderstanding" calm, cool, collected statement.

Something like "I arrived onsite and there was complete chaos with no one in charge. There were a few fat guys in yellow jackets all standing around doing nothing, so I proceeded with extreme caution to the entrance of my workplace. After I had driven a few yards at less than 10mph, one of the fat guys ran up and started pounding at my window, yelling unintelligibly. I calmly rolled down my window, and he yelled “I am in charge here! You will respect my authority! Where do you think you’re going?” I showed him my credential after which he looked utterly confused. He then yelled at me, “you need to wait for me to let you in! I am in charge here! You’re under arrest!” Then he hit me with his flashlight and I decided the best thing to do was shut up and go along until I could talk to my lawyer.

It's a clear suppression tactic, and there were only 3 races that matter, everything else was incumbent unopposed.  The other (somewhat) big race was for the court of appeals, Tabitha Ponder vs. I shit you not Jefferson Davis.

And they say Biden is too old.

  3. I always thought it odd that even the top players drive themselves.  What's even weirder is that most times, when the player and caddy come in the same car, the player is behind the wheel.  Isn't that the caddy's job?

Another oddity is when they put their shoes on in the parking lot.  Playing at some of the top courses in the US with presumably great facilities (no first hand knowledge, most places wouldn't let me in), and they get dressed in the parking lot.

when in watching I always think about what I would hit. 3 iron if I can run it up or 5 wood

I stopped doing that years ago, just too big a difference.

On the rare occasion that I watch women's golf, I'll do that.  But even that is starting to get depressing.  10 years ago I used to be on par (get it?) with the best women as far as distance, but now they sometimes are 1 or even 2 clubs less.

Listened to a longer audiobook excerpt; she got mad and executed the dog for her own stupid mistakes.  A valued client group from Georgia that gave the family repeat business was about to go on their last hunt.  In preparation for the hunt, the family drives many birds into a particular parcel of land.  So what does Noem do?

She decides to introduce a dog with known training issues into the hunt, and the dog proceeds to screw up the last hunt of the trip for valued clients.  When the hunt is over and the dogs need to be transported back home, she is short a kennel, so Cricket is the only dog that wasn’t placed in a kennel.  She narrates in the book that she wouldn’t care if Cricket jumped out of the pickup bed on the way home.

Then she stops by a neighbor on the way home.  And the one dog she failed to secure in a kennel, the dog that just screwed a hunt by chasing birds all over the place, jumps out of the truck and proceeds to go ham on the neighbor’s pet chickens.  After apologizing and writing a check to the neighbor, she then puts Cricket in the cab of the truck instead of the bed.  Maybe she should have put the dog in the cab before she got to a place with birds milling about in the open.

So instead of reflecting on her screw ups, the dog is summarily executed.

That's what I always say.  There are no bad dogs, just bad owners.

Landlord?  Let me guess...Joe Biden is the reason you can't afford to buy in some shithole little town?

Why do poor folks support Trump? This guy, that kid who came on here and begged for $2500, makes no sense.  If you're poor, you should vote D, that's always been the case...well at least in the past 100 years or so.

Now if they say, well, I supported dems my whole life and it didn't get me jack, then I can see that, but they never say that.  Instead, they think some 'rich' fat bastid from NYC is gonna save them.

Appreciate the replies. I don't want to have a wreck and try to figure out fault. I understand yielding to anyone coming my direction even if they illegally changed lanes. That's part of my issue here. technically they are in front of me but going 90 degrees across traffic to make that turn.  Plus -  Even more frustrating and not in the picture - right past the goofy entrance (about 20 feet) is a second entrance to the same place. That one is much easier to determine fault since the right turn lane has been merged into the existing right lane.

Since you seem to be very familiar with the intersection and traverse it frequently, I don't see how YOU could have a wreck.  If you're the guy turning right, you slow the heck down before starting your right turn so as to not get rear ended, then yield and only go when it's absolutely clear.  Wait for the light to turn red for the left-turner if you have to.

If you're the guy turning left, watch out for a guy turning right and proceed with extreme caution, like make sure he's come to a complete stop and sees you.  Or, better yet, don't turn left and then try to make it into that driveway.  Surely there's a better way into that gas station that might cost you a couple more minutes, or another gas station nearby.

Or you could just not pay attention and run into someone and then be righteously claim you had the right of way as you deal with a damaged car and potentially injured people.

If you were born before 1977, you are older than the high five.

You’re also older than USA USA which was invented in Lake Placid in 1980.  And Beat LA which was invented in Boston during the epic Celtics vs Lakers battles of the 80’s.

  9. Yeah unless you've engaged in questionable activities with your bank in the past (not judging), they should refund your money with just a modicum of effort on your part.  Further, Citi would also refund any late fees and interest charges, again, unless you have a habit of questionable activity.

I don't see the authorities, or even the bank doing anything beyond that, maybe if your cc payment is in the high five figures.

Couple years back, my wife's (no pics) business account had a check stolen that had been sent out USPS.  The image of the check showed that it had clearly been tampered with, the payee was practically written in olde english.  Wells Fargo refunded in a couple days upon being presented with the check image.  But that's it.  And, the check had been deposited into a Wells Fargo account!  I forget the amount, less than $5k but more than $1k.  So I guess Wells figures it's cheaper to just let it go rather than investigate it.

  10. Oh yeah, after I got conditional approval and scheduled my interview, I got an email from CBP saying 'hey why don't you do Enrollment on Arrival instead?'  Since I don't have any trips scheduled, I didn't think much of it.  Plus it seems like a tarp! when you get back, oh no sir, sorry, you can't do that here, you have to do it somewhere else 1000 miles away and only between the hours of 1000a and 1005a.

My wife (no pics) had an opportunity pop up to go to the UK in June. She has pre-check, not global entry. Is there any path to getting GE prior to her trip? In not, now much hassle is she in for coming back through DFW?

As I said upthread, i was lucky enough to get GE in about 10 days total, but given all the info in this thread, that would have to be the exception, not the rule.  You could give the normal process a try, and as long as you have a cc that will cover the cost, really no harm done.

But I think your best bet is to use the Mobile Passport Control app.  I've used it several times at many US airports, but not DFW.  The line for mobile has almost always been shorter than the GE line, and in the couple cases where it was not shorter, it was comparable.

I really only got GE because I wanted TSAPre and my cc covered the cost.  I think, at least for the time being, the mobile app is plenty good enough

    No.

When the trial has started like this one has, jury selected an opening argument set for Monday, there could be no justification to allow defense council to withdraw while it’s going on.   Attorneys do not have the right to unilaterally withdraw whenever they want for whatever reason they want.  If the issue is fees not being paid, that is often grounds for withdrawing as a general matter,  but it would be a rare court to allow an attorney to withdraw with scheduled pending matters - and really a bizarre albino unicorn event to allow an attorney to withdraw the after trial has begun.   The jury would see that negatively.   Which is all to say that an attorney does not have a right to likely cause a mistrial for that selfish reason and put everything back at square one.

And in this unusual case, when his attorneys accepted representation on a client who has a reputation for not paying attorneys - there is way less reason to grant withdrawal for nonpayment of fees.
