  1. My point in saying that is benching Arch would effectively be blowing up the narrative that this entire program is built upon. Arch is the centerpiece of the whole deal for better or worse. We could have a QB even better than Caldwell on the bench and Sark would roll with Arch.
  2. May have had some phone calls that ran late........
  3. Sounds like they already have evidence that Sanchez was the aggressor and snapped. Crazy situation. May have just thrown it all away.
  4. I'd be shocked if it was a serious thought at all in the staffs minds. If Arch gets straight up benched that means we are in full running around like chickens with their heads cut off level of panic.
  5. Arch had an ugly game and is struggling with fairly simple 1st reads. When I watch the film (obv dont have access to the all 22) its clear to me he's not ready to run the offense at a high level. He's just missing too much. However, he really is running for his life. Im now convinced part of the reason he's having the yips and is in his head is because he knows his o line is a complete disaster. Thats a tough realization when you know that means you're capable of getting sacked every single play, because his "first read" becomes pocket awareness and not where to go with the ball. He showed some real moxie and playmaking ability against Florida. The raw tools are there. I think his development has been stunted by this horrendous o line, and I think he was significantly overhyped and over ranked. He was a high four star that played against bad competition and was going to need time. But the film speaks for itself: 1- He has no time 2- Hes struggling big time with 1st read coverages #2 doesnt get fixed until #1 does. He's not super human. In the mean time Sark has to use everything at his disposal to relieve the pressure for him, and hes not doing that schematically. He better start or we are going to lose more than we win.
  6. This is a bad spot we are in. NIL comes with expectations, thats the case for every program. NIL on our scale comes with expectations to match it. What that means to me, based on the guy I know who is putting up serious money, is the bare minimum expectation is to make the playoff. Sark asked for a lot and has received a lot. Its one thing for us to fall short in the red zone in the cfp semifinal. Its another to have an o-line so completely broken that your donors investment in building around Arch Manning is completely wasted for the season. Speaking of Arch, Sark looked in these donors eyes and told them if they put up the money for the pieces around him, we will land football Jesus in the form of SEC fball royalty. Sark has been telling our donors that he's a QB expert, and in his expert opinion Arch is the best hs prospect hes ever seen and has shown him everything he needs to see these last two years to step in and play at a high level. Sark got his money, but how does his situation here change if he goes 7-5 or even worse at this stage of the cycle? At a minimum, he will lose some donor support. At this stage, I don't think we are in a situation where our donors are going to double down when they have already given so much. MASSIVE game for Sark coming up.
  7. I have no idea how to sanely have any confidence in our chances in this game after watching our o-line get abused by UF. We received confirmation that UTEP was not an aberration. Our o line is completely broken. There's no help coming for this game. I don't know how you win with that.
  8. We need a play calling OC, an OL coach, a QB coach, and a ST coordinator. This offense completely blows. Sark has messed up. He'll get a full cycle to get it fixed but I'd imagine there are some donors wondering where the money went.
  9. Just feels like a bad spot for Florida. Theyre leaking oil and beat up. We've been getting bad press after tripping out of the gate a bit. Had a chance to get healthy, preach a chip onto our shoulder, and basically start a brand new season. Solid game here changes the narrative and Im sure the coaches know we need it heading into OU. No way to not be worried about the OL, but even there I gotta wonder if we are actually this bad or just had poor effort in games we werent worried about losing. Of course there's one possibility out there that I think is in the back of all of our minds, we just wont bring that up.
  10. Texas is a southern state, a southwestern state, and a plains state. Right now we are in the southern state version of our conference affiliation. Big 12 was the plains affiliation and we did heavy flirting with the PAC to be a southwestern member. Northern Mexico/South Texas is its own region. I'm sure if they were connected to a major football conference we wouldve done plenty of flirting with them too.
  11. 34-17. We dominate time of possession and they score a trash time td in 4th Q. Arch has an ok game, running game shows improvement. Defense looks dominant.
  12. Yea seems spot on. Dont know much about Napier and now that I think about it I think Im feeling bad for him because I was told one time that hes a good dude. For all I actually know hes not. With Herman he went off the reservation before he even started with us. Just an epic dipshit.
  13. Gerry mentioned if it were him calling the shots at UF, he would throw 15m a year at Marcus Freeman.
  14. I kind of feel bad for Napier. He seems like hes completely in over his head.
  15. I still believe this team has its best football in front of them and I think Texas can sneak into the playoff on the back of a very good defense. Im not expecting a SEC or national championship. At this point I'm hoping to get the Arch train fully on the tracks and ready for a big campaign next year. Also, I think our schedule sets up well for us this season and I think its possible for us to make the playoff at 9-3.
  16. Maybe Stroh could contribute at an ok level with more time, I don't know. I do know he's not good enough today to play OL for even a decent unit. He simply isn't able to do it and I worry he's the canary in the coal mine for our whole offense, because you can't have a link that weak in your OL and win a championship. The fact he's still starting makes me worry he's our best option which right now would only mean we simply arent good enough.
  17. This defense looks exactly like my 3rd graders 7 on 7 defense. I cant stop seeing it.
  18. This is a great game. What an insane catch. Parsons just got his moment. Dak completely balling out.
  19. Will be really interesting to see what he does from here. He’s never been anything but an Oklahoma country boy and has never shown interest in moving away. Heard he’s been a huge pain in the ass for years there but he got results. Getting to take the rest of the season off in probably what he needs.
  20. Its not exactly salacious stuff. 21 year old takes his eye off the ball against weak competition so he can party with his brother and friends and chase some skirt before buckling down for a long hard stretch of conference play. I hope this doesnt get leaked to tmz.
  21. I really like the setup for this Florida game. Sark can preach an aggressive mentality about going into a major SEC road destination and putting a program in the grave. Our defense is a huge problem for them, and our offense has the bye week to regroup, get healthy, leave the lackluster performances behind and start a new campaign. The SHSU game was a much needed jerkoff session to clear out some blue balls. UF is ripe for a blowout loss in my opinion, the writing is on the wall there and that is a team thats ready to lay down. I felt the same way about them last season, this feels like a bad spot for them. Obviously it all rests on which version of Arch we get. I dont know what to make of his struggles besides they are clearly mental. Ive heard rumors about some of his extracurricular activities along the lines of he put in a lot of work getting ready for Ohio State and saw this part of the schedule as an opportunity to relax a bit before the grind of SEC play, and that he overdid it and it bit him in the ass. One point that was brought up to me was his Grandfather, Uncles, and Dad were all big partiers in school. Its part of why Arch chose Texas, and his brother is at the center of a very active party scene. The rumor I heard was Arch noticeably started showing up to the fraternity house right after Ohio State. Dont know if its true but thats what some fraternity members are telling their parents. The whole thing could be typical dipshit college kid mega fan bs, but it does make some logical sense to me. Sell out for Ohio State, then sow some oats before the bye week and get back to grind mode for the rest of the season.
  22. I read that as he was worried about retrieving the gun not just to get the evidence back but because it was such a big gift from his grandfather that it would be super suspicious if he couldnt show them it was in his possession. He still thought he was going to get away with it but then his Dad (and other family) wanted confirmation he had the gun.
