  1. Didn't all these schools leave just one or two years early. Had the BIG XII been worried they would have let things sit in court until the GOR had expired. I think it was more along the lines of Texas staying around the first time and this time it was about signing a new deal before the PAC12 and zero fear about the GOR being challenged.
  2. If I were the SEC I would take Duke, Kansas, UNC plus FSU. That way with Kentucky, Duke, Kansas and UNC the SEC would have many of the the most storied football programs and most of the most storied basketball programs. Before people start making the football argument I happen two agree with Chris Fowler that says the next step after all this realignment will be the Super 2 trimming the dead weight like Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Rutgers, etc. So in a two tier system you have the BIG football schools bring in the FB money and get tier one money and the BIG BB school bring in the basketball money and get a part of the FB money. The BB schools then serve as the schools one beats up on during football season yet they will be the ones with all the eyes during BB season.
  3. What schools prior to Clemson and FSU had challenged their GOR in court? I know schools had negotiated smaller exit fees but I don't remember them doing it due to the belief the GOR could be challenged.
  4. Dan Wetzel and these guys crying about BIG10 and SEC throwing their weight around at 1:47
  5. Somebody else made the assessment my response was if you really believe that someone is much better than the starter than why would you leave spring practice having the better player think he is a backup. Read the post I responded too before making a comment that does not apply to the context of the conversation.
  6. I am of the opinion that all degrees are helpful. Some will earn you way more money than others. I have a family member that has been successful in business after dropping out after two years of college and has a kid that did not go to college at all and was being defensive. He said I did X, Y and Z and all I got is high school and asked did you learn those X, Y and Z skills in college or in high school. He said the two skills that really helped him to get started he learned in his two years in college. Now the ROI may not be worth it these days but in our day even a couple of years of college had a nice ROI.
  7. I rather they give the better projected starter the spring reps because the other side of the coin is that we lose a great player to the portal because the better player knows he should have overtaken the player in front of him on the depth chart. Just like losing coaches is a good thing losing players because they lost their starting position will be a good thing. It will hurt depth but I rather not risk the better player.
  8. I did not buy this so I Googled it and it is worse than that in Texas they do not even require intent. "If you are on private property and intoxicated, your vehicle may look like a good place to sleep it off. But don't put yourself in the position of appearing to operate the vehicle, or you may suffer a DWI arrest. Texas DWI law does not require your intent to drive somewhere." https://www.dougmurphylaw.com/dwi-guide/defending-dwi-arrests-on-private-property
  9. I like how the OU player is just an empty vessel, that was a Freudian slip.
  10. Someone needs to tweet this stuff at Trev Albert before his first meeting with Liucci.
  11. This guy has two good lines: Arkansas hiring Bobby Petrino is like Biden hiring Clinton to run his intern program. Money can't buy happiness but that does not stop Texas A&M from trying.
  12. Pubes has football covered Trev is suppose to make them a volleyball contender.
  13. Would have never thought of a cleaver but that is the one I am going to consider.
  14. Was it Gerry that said we may be faster this year because of AD being replaced with speed. I guess AD looked slow next to X.
  15. Someone that was left behind and would like to view Nebraska through a bias like aggy when they really could easily reside with Penn State in the same tier due to their history and fan base.
  16. Let me spell it out for you only Oregon (money), USC, Ohio State and Michigan can throw their weight around in the BIG 10 conference and get the kids they want and constantly recruit in the top 10. Nebraska (18) and Penn State (15) even out because they can easily both recruit top 20 ranking talent. Penn State may be geographically closer to top level talent but only once in a while are they going to beat out Ohio State and Michigan for local talent those guys really covet. Therefore, both Penn State and Nebraska depend on their evaluations and development to be successful. So who gives a shit if that talent is local or from California and Texas. I sent you the Nebraska roster so that you could see that no matter how bad Nebraska sucks they are still pulling talent from states in which talent can be found. Yet some more proof that Nebraska does not have far to climb to reach Penn State even though they have sucked really badly compared to Penn State. The problem with the original statement is you lumped Penn State into a category in which they do not belong https://247sports.com/season/2023-football/collegeteamtalentcomposite/
  17. We try but you keep missing the point. https://huskers.com/sports/football/roster
  18. Nebraska got kids out of California and Texas and used the fact they were good to recruit Florida and New Jersey. Local kids was never their secret to success.
  19. I agree with with three programs you have listed but how does Penn State have more advantages? Please educate us.
  20. Nebraska had 3 10 win seasons between 2009 and 2012 and we all thought Bo Pelini sucked as a coach. A half decent coach probably turns two of those seasons into 12 win seasons. We will know in two more years if Nebraska will start being better than average because I think they have the right coach.
  21. Right now Nebraska and UCLA are in quarantine as far as the tier they belong too. I would be surprised if Nebraska does not figure it out at some point. Blue bloods always do regardless of hiatus. Bama had been a really bad program for about 10 years and some thought their glory days were in the rear view mirror.
  22. Found this as far as rivalry data since I could not find the Cody results. https://knowrivalry.com/team/longhorns-texas-97/ The numbers show reverse rivalry. So aggy it is true we don't think of you as much as you do us.
  23. Could not get through the video just yet because at 1:20 we have the exact placement of the ball that was needed against Washington for a TD.
