  1. Good thing it was 3rd and 18 and not 3rd and 17 vs Todd Orlando.
  2. Looked, who said looked? Only thing implied is he looked like shit. Go back and read so you can understand what was said.
  3. To me, the advantage for Arch is that he's seen an elite rush come at him, and Sayin hasn't. As the video shows, the home crowd doesn't save you from it. Arch has seen elite game speed pinning its ears back and coming at him, and it won't be new to him, but it will be new to Sayin. Arch has made both bad throws and good throws knowing he's about to be hit, and he hasn't been rattled. Sayin, on the other hand, hasn't had to do so, and no one knows how he'll react. We all hated what happened here, but the sequence in the video will pay dividends for us on Saturday. View the video at your own peril.
  4. Starting with the Alabama road trip, I began viewing other team site previews and score predictions. Alabama fans all had it being 20+ points and being over by the 3rd quarter, and their analysis was laughably simplistic because the goggles were so thick they could not see anything other than crimson. Michigan previews weren't confident, with many feeling it would take some luck to win the game because it couldn't be done straight up. Ohio folks have been a mix; Tim May is a homer and aggy, so he blows smoke up his own ass. Most try to be somewhat fair, within the realm of what their fan base will allow. They'll state what they feel are the unknowns or Texas advantages but then say they have better talent and back it up with examples that make OH look very good. OH fans strike me as thin-skinned, like aggy but not at their level, and OH actually wins things. Even the article you posted here has the same OH journalistic tone - "I must say something nice to avoid getting the OH fans' panties in a wad". What fans from other teams need to understand is that, other than Bobby Burton (the ultimate pessimist) and his team, the local media here feels an obligation to shit on the team at all times and in every way they can. Therefore, when others come to see how we're doing, they think we are in worse shape than unbiased analysis would suggest. Texas fans are more confident than OH fans, who predict a 3-6 point margin, while Texas fans commonly predict a 10-point margin. To me, this is the most telling as to which team has the better chance of winning this game because fans are usually as unrealistic as Alabama fans, but these two fan bases have stated their realistic conclusions. Saturday will now write the story.
  5. Probably happened because in the preshow meeting they went down defensive position groups and picked Texas in all of them. They did mention Fornelli was going to let them have it for not breaking defense down by position.
  6. I did not know @satyanash had a cousin that is an aggy.
  7. I had never heard of Portnoy till today. The previews are talking about him and I heard he got banned. My first thought was to think what an aggy thing to do. Then they mentioned Ohio State 's AD and I thought, oh now it makes sense.
  8. Just watched 2005 game and that team fought through everything that came their way and won. Jacked for Saturday!
  9. Ohio State folks are convinced that Julian and Arch are in the same boat since even though Sayin has no experience, he isn't having to face a hostile crowd. Arch already got a taste of loud crowd conditions against aggy, but more importantly he had to come in versus Georgia under really hostile conditions where Georgia was just teeing off on the QB at that point in the game. So no, it's not the same. One has just enough experience to draw from, and the other has none. And let's hope we can bank on it for a win on Saturday.
  10. I agree, no one here can answer if the OL will look calm and collected like last year's OL. At the Michigan game last year, even after a penalty, I knew we'd be fine because the OL just didn't look rattled at all, even when the Michigan crowd was loud at the start of the game. The other thing that no one here knows is if the transfer DTs will play with the same intensity and effectiveness we've seen from guys who've been in the program a couple years and been told they're not consistent enough to get more playing time, so they improved to get their chance. These transfers are getting a chance without that message drilled into them for a couple years. Long week ahead, folks. None of this will be known until the teams clash on the field. Anyone with real insight is either a coach or a player who's been around for two years, and they're not sharing with the public or the $9.95ers.
  11. OK so how many times am I going to get dinged
  12. Pate is the guy that listens to the spin coming out of each program and regurgitates it. So he provides a 50K view of how each program sees itself. As an example he can" t stop talking about how Sark told him this is the year. Since aggy's spin comes from Billy I can"t see why anyone would be surprised by his take on aggy.
  13. SIAP Another nugget from yet another preview. Ryan Day is 7 - 6 versus top 5 competition at home. This is not verified, someone said it to underline they weren't making home field the X factor.
  14. Just watched 4 TV analyst from Ohio say that this will be the best OL they have seen at Ohio State. One said that what will surprise everyone after the game is how dominant their OL was vs the Texas D. The other said that he had not seen one this good in the 14 years he has covered the team. Based on the numbers someone gave here earlier it makes me wonder what kool-aid is being served by the coaches.
  15. You mean the guy that ended the interview singing the aggy song and giving a gig'em sign.
  16. Well unfortunately it is the worst losses that come to mind when one watches a team do something utterly stupid that reminds one of the same stupid shit our coach did to cause that huge loss. Ten plus years from now if we are still around when a team runs a sweep that get stuffed that cost them the game you will see some of the same posts that seem out of context.
  17. Drinking? We were about to run it in and just take over the game and they decide to pass. Stanford is going in if they keep running and put the game away. Why pass, it cannot be answered that is the similarity. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2001_Big_12_Championship_Game
  18. Coaches can't help themselves, tree is running it at will and decides to throw. Reminds me of Mack in 2001 CCG.
  19. This game has been sloppy then again it is game one.
  20. Adding a couple to yours from the thread.
  21. NSIAP, aggy and Nebraska haters rejoice since we will be off the list soon. CBS put out a list that Bobby and them discussed this morning. Gerry stated hang a banner for being number one. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/no-youre-overrated-a-study-of-college-footballs-10-most-overhyped-teams-over-the-last-decade/
