  1. CAMPO is the federally-mandated regional planning agency for the region. Effectively, they manage regional planning and administer federal funds. Their board is comprised of representatives from each of the 6 counties in their boundaries, each city over 50k population in the area, a small cities rep, TxDOT and Cap Metro. CTRMA is a state-chartered agency formed by Travis and Hays County. Their board is comprised of representatives appointed by each county and a chair appointed by the Governor. CapMetro is a state-chartered agency with representatives on the board appointed by city of Austin, Travis County and I believe CAMPO. Almost all of their service area is in those two jurisdictions. I think this reinforces the overlap, but in my opinion there are reasonable policy reasons for the overlap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. And that, my friends, is how you humblebrag. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Ended up paying to repair the screen. All the software programs that promised they could access the data cost nearly as much as the repair with no guarantee they would actually work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I like the Beats X. Keep a charge a long time, recharge in 15 minutes, synch with everything I’ve tried and sound pretty good even though they are Bluetooth. They are not noise canceling but are noise isolating once you pick the right set of earbuds from the pack. Work fine for me on planes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Should add the phone will turn on and all Functions work, but can’t access anything, or input access codes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Wife’s Samsung phone took a pavement dive. Repairing screen and LCD for 2-year old phone looks like more than the phone is worth. She didn’t have the data backed up... any simple way for me to get the picture and videos from the vacation we were on when it happened? I’d hate to have to repair the phone just to get the files. 7. TXDOT did that on RM 2222 near the top of Tumbleweed Hill and approaching FM 620 - works well for 95% of folks. They aren’t going to stop an F-250 that wants to turn left, otherwise work pretty well to enforce safe(er) behavior from impatient idiots.
  8. This will be designed to be capped downtown, but TXDOT cannot pay for the cap. If the city of Austin and others want a cap local or private dollars have to pay.
  9. I’ve been twice. Run by the guys that own Noble Pig so they should understand meat.. good experience both times - moist brisket, pork ribs and jalapeño sausage all pretty good. Sides were decent if those are important to you. Easily the best option in that part of Austin. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I like a “traditional” square toe as more casual options to the standard round toe. The super-wide square toe just doesn’t look right to me. Many people I know disagree with me though and wear them... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. This. As soon as Mellisandre reminded Arya about killing blue eyes you knew what was coming. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Now I am disappoint. Went to store, bought boots. Not offered beer or coozie. Like the boots though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I think it depends on the car and availability. I used it for my last purchase, but I wanted a specific option package on a new model that had barely hit production. I knew it would be a beating trying to haggle a fair price, and I was right. Had to have a car shipped in from out of state and I think the Costco program saved me money. If you are looking for a make and model with widespread availability I’d expect you can beat their price with decent research. That’s if you want to spend the time and effort of course. If you want to have a relatively hassle free buying experience and are ok leaving a little money on the table then Costco is easy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Sizes pretty limited. Amazing deal if your size in stock.
  16. Your picture highlights the issue with Tecovas for me - as much as y’all rave about the boots the uppers are a huge turn off me. I don’t want anything garish but at least some contrast and personality. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I’m enough of a Luddite I’d like to try on before I buy. Tecovas brick and mortar opening this weekend on South Congress. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. You can beat the Costco price. You can get a better deal in Dallas or Houston due to dealer competition. Depends on how much you want to work at it and how much time you want to invest. I used Costco and stayed local because, to me, the hassle outweighed the savings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. It’s not about putting the med school near the teaching hospital, or putting the new basketball arena on campus. Certainly both laudable.. it’s about destroying one of the major north - south arterials in central Austin, and one of the few viable alternates to I-35 for trips in and out of downtown. For that, the decision to screw up Red River joins multiple other data points that cement the conclusion CoA doesn’t care about solving congestion and mobility. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. City of Austin, by letting the medical school and UT destroy Red River has effectively eliminated one of the major north-south routes in this city.
  21. The DDI has u-turns built in. Since the cross traffic is flipped across the bridge the u-turn becomes a yield movement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I buy a bottle of Garrisons every so often just because I want to support an outfit trying to do it he right way in Texas... there is better brown water out there but I want Dan and co to succeed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Lawton for Oklahoma. Metairie for Louisiana. Seems legit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. This. Multiple people condemned the roundabout at 51st and I-35 because it was not functioning well when partially opened during construction. Now that it’s complete it works great and no one complains. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Costco. With the nearly monthly Michelin sale price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
