  1. If they aren't doing the same thing
  2. I have little doubt that this isnt the only team doing it but I still think it will go away pretty quickly
  3. Add in the fact that Ballmer is a MASSIVE upgrade from Sterling and has improved that franchise (and consequently the league) in every way financially tells me that yes, this will go away quickly. Paying an extra 30M for a guy that only wants to play 50 gms/yr and hasnt really helped them to win anything is some true Clipper shit though
  4. The series is fucking incredible but it is 10000000000% telling of why they have not and can not win again. Jerry's ego is ALWAYS the priority.
  5. No quite sure what I was expecting but a little disappointing to have only 4 35 min eps to tie everything up
  6. Yeah, still 6 gms behind MIN but basically tied with ATL for the #2 spot and Aja has been beasting. Making the MVP vote extremely interesting
  7. Paige ended with 11 pts on 2/7 and 0 assists. Great defense by the Storm. Storm is going to be a tough team to deal with in the playoffs.
  8. Watching this Wings/Storm game. Malonga is going to be really good. Her combo of size, skill, and agility is truly special. The Storm has some very versatile defenders so they can switch against Paige on PnR opps and still end up with a very good defender on her. When they blutz her they have the athleticism to rotate and recover so others arent getting good looks either. They are doing a really good job defending her tonight
  9. I get it, for sure. Just saying Citron is a guard too and having a GREAT season. Bueckers is the choice but its closer than most will say. Especially if the Mystics manage to make the playoffs and the Wings stay with single digit wins
  10. Lost on a buzzer beater. While there was some luck involved with the lottery, they were in the lottery because they were one of the worst teams in the league last yr. Adding one great player wasnt going to change that.
  11. Paige records last night
  12. Ehhhhh.........I dont know about runaway. I would definitely give it to her but I could see voting to Citron too. Her numbers are similar and at least up until the last couple weeks the Mystics were in playoff hunt https://www.espn.com/wnba/player/stats/_/id/4433524/sonia-citron
  13. Loyd has been a pretty massive bust for them IMO. They didnt bring her in to avg 11/3/2. When Plum asked out they really thought they were upgrading.
  14. As LV climbs the standings her chances increase. She wouldnt win with them struggling to stay over .500 while Phee was dominating and being on a runaway #1 seed. Especially when she's won 3 of the last 5 MVPs. Voter fatigue sucks but its real. They've wanted to give it to Phee from the start of the season. Now with her out and MIN still playing very well the gap is closing.
  15. Another great game between the Liberty and Lynx. 66-60 Liberty at the end of the 3Q. If these two matched up again in the Finals I would be ok with 7 of these.
  16. The game retired him yrs ago.
  17. Statue is really good too
  18. And this is why I'm not worried about expansion "watering down" the talent level. They have two players who should be top 5 in Most Improved with Veronica Burton and Kayla Thornton. They just needed a chance for bigger roles. There are a lot more like them that will pop for the next expansion teams. The overall success of the Valkyries is an outlier for sure so I dont expect the new teams to do this well but I'm not worried that they wont be able to find good players. Now I just wish they would do something about their uniforms. They're fucking terrible.
  19. Same plus Andy Allo is incredible
  20. New contract kicks in next yr I believe
  21. I'm sure there is context for her statement. No one will look any deeper though. Context: Per Ogwumike, the WNBA's latest offer to its players -- while dramatically increasing the salary cap and maximum base salaries, which a league source suggested could quadruple to at least $1 million from their current $249,244 -- follows the same model as the current CBA. "It's basically the same system that we exist in right now," Ogwumike said. "They're proposing a system that includes revenue that would grow with the business. When you approach it from the perspective of their response to our proposal, yes, money is more, but ultimately if you look at the growth of the business, the money relative to the percentage of everything is virtually staying the same."
