  1. I've said this for a while. Especially when the supermax was created. If you draft a player and they become supermax eligible the part above regular max shouldnt count toward your cap. You're penalizing teams for hitting on a draft pick
  2. This seems like ultimately it will squeeze out some mid level guys. If someone making MLE is waived their only option, if they want to stay in the league, is to sign with a crappy team. They may choose to go overseas if they can make more money and wont have an opportunity to go to a team with a chance at a title. The ultimate goal is to put pressure on the top level guys and make them the fall guys for not being able to keep teams together. The NBA tried parity in the early-mid 70s and it is widely seen as the worse era of the league. It will be interesting to see how that works out.
  3. Lets take a step back. What is your definition of setting the league on fire? Of the last 5 ROYs: Ja, Lamelo, Scottie Barnes, Paolo, Wemby who do you think he is as good as coming in? I'd have him slotted in a tie for 3rd with Paolo behind Wemby and Ja. I didnt think Paolo was special coming out either. Still not sold on him being a franchise level player.
  4. No way Bailey is better. Shit they had the #2 and #3 prospects and didnt even make the tourney. We've seen those kinda players before in Fultz and Simmons. If you cannot get your team to the tourney and at least win a game or two I'm not buying that you can dominate pros. Too many examples of great players on subpar teams still getting a game or two in the tournament (Steph, Ja, Kawhi, and more) for me to put in faith in Bailey being that good. That said I really dont think either is a franchise player. Those clips weren't really special to me. Just a very good CBB player. We will see.
  5. Yeah that is going to be a tough sell. While he does normally step up in the playoffs, he half-asses it through most seasons. Cant see teams lined up for that shit.
  6. No idea where you are going with this. I never said anything like Magic/Bird had no impact early. I said the league to didnt go from tape delayed finals to multi-billion dollar TV contracts in one yr. CC had a great season and a great showing in the playoffs. Her team was not good enough last yr but she has a better team this yr. Not winning a title in her first yr isnt some kind of negative on her or the league in general.
  7. Meh, those leagues arent bigger. They just pay more generally. Soccer is a European game. Basketball is an American sport. There is a reason the best players from over there still want to come here. Higher salary but less US endorsement money isnt an upgrade especially when she would have to be away from home for months at a time. The next CBA will fix a lot of the salary disparity anyway Its been one yr. Magic and Bird didnt move the league from tape delay to billion dollar TV contracts in one season. I have no idea how you expect her and her team to have titles already. Her team made very big moves this season and I expect them to be right there at thee end of the yr.
  8. What bigger league would that be?
  9. It shouldnt take over a yr. Hell Nike had Air Jordans out by the end of MJ's rookie yr 40yrs ago and back then no one knew what they would do. They KNOW a CC shoe will print money.
  10. Way too many people with mics in general
  11. He said Larry Bird would be just another player if he wasnt white. I dont know if some of you are just too young or if you are purposely misremembering shit.
  12. These Valkyrie uniforms are terrible. They look like practice gear
  13. PJ about to get some burn
  14. Insane. Especially how easily Brunson rolls his ankles. They should have never seen a 4Q minute. Not any of them All fun and games until someone gets hurt
  15. LOL, I hadnt even listened to Acho's "take" because I knew it was some dumb shit. I would have never thought the dumb shit was pissing on Tatum after he blew out his Achilles. Shit KD didnt even go hard enough.
  16. His getting knocked down by smaller guys constantly and not being able to post up those smaller guys is what makes him soft.
  17. I want to like him but his constantly wild flailing around and inability to post up smaller players lead me to saying it. He's a good player. Very skilled. But he's soft too.
  18. Mike Breen just said it too. Why is his big ass constantly on the ground?
  19. He is so soft. His big ass is just flopping all over the place out there.
  20. I guess Porzingis cant go but starting Kornet seems like an over-reaction. There is a such thing as the law of diminishing returns.
  21. Paige starts off 2 of her first 3. Looking pretty comfortable.
  22. Exactly this. If you took away the rebounds she got on her own shots she STILL would have led the league in rebounding.
