I follow him on Facebook and YouTube. He’s the main one I’ve seen use it. His finishes are really nice.

Yeah he does some amazing work. I assume he gets some kind of kickbacks for promoting products though. Who knows. The only reason I try and stick to the hard wax finish if possible is repairability. That's really important to me because things that are used in real life will inevitably get fucked up. I really wish we would have finished our hardwood floors in a hard wax oil, but I let the floor guys talk me out of it.

It’s hard for me to be convinced on $126 for two 1 oz bottles.

But I guess if you’re selling $20k tables, the finishing cost is irrelevant.

Our floors are finished in oil and ya, I 100% recommend it over a poly finish. Scratches are so much less apparent when they just blend into the actual wood vs into a plastic coating. Only downside is you have to use special soap that has oils in it when you mop and that shit ain't cheap.

$126 for that N3 stuff? And I thought Rubio Monocoat was expensive....

It’s a ceramic protective top coat, so you’d put it over the Rubio.

I’ve never used it, so I’m not really qualified to speak to its viability, but like a ceramic topcoat for a car, there are use cases for it and others where it’s not worth the price. Ceramic on a car is going to protect the clear coat on a car that is exposed to the elements but generally well taken care of. It’s not going to do anything when someone opens their door into it in a parking lot.

A coffee table made out of an impossible to replace slab of redwood burl that someone might set a drink down on without a coaster? Probably worth it. A white oak or maple dining room table in a house with young kids that is going to get abused relentlessly, I’d probably have a hard time justifying the price.
