Great to take two-straight games from the team with the best record in baseball.

...after dropping two of three to the team with the worst.

What a different sport baseball is. This looks like it will be a competitive finish to the season. Let's go, Sox!

Bolded is a serious ouch.

18. Yu Chang (Previous Rank: Not Ranked)

Did you know the Red Sox are the worst defensive team in MLB based on outs above average? It’s not even a particularly close race, as they currently sit at -46 OAA, with the second-worst team, the Miami Marlins, at -16. That is not a typo. We’re talking a difference of 30 OAA. By the same measure, Chang has been the team’s best defender (four OAA), so even if he has a 48 wRC+ in 50 plate appearances since returning from the IL on July 7, he’s still providing value.

Real kick in the nuts news out today. Tim Wakefield and his wife both have cancer. Tim's is brain, his wife's is different.

On the news getting out before they wanted? That is on Curt Schilling who revealed it on his podcast.

It’s about damn time.  Let’s fire the pitching coach while we are at it, he sucks ass.

Maybe it'll mean they'll finally start to draft SP instead of going SS-and-move-to-other-positions-happy every draft.

I don’t mind drafting an abundance of SS with the intention of moving them to other positions as long as their bat is projected to be a plus at the new position.  We desperately need to draft pitchers, though.
